First of all, the food was delicious. Ordered the lobster tacos, the haddock tacos and the firecracker shrimp. Huge portions and delicious. We actually live right around the corner. Rockland residents. We placed our order at 6:20... The order came at 7:40... That's a little much. I was kind to the young woman when I picked up. She clearly didn't care. No sorry. Nothing. Great food. Never again. read more

Fantastic food and great seafood. The service was awesome. Such very nice staff. I ordered the 1.5 pound lobster and when I picked up my order I was told they gave me 2 lobsters since the one they had was a little under 1.5 lbs. I think I ate at least 21/4 lbs of lobster. Terrific view of ocean with outside seating. COVID precautions were excellent. I highly recommend this restaurant. read more

Drove 43 minutes thinking would be good. So disappointed. Have been in Maine a week eating every meal out and this was the worse. Crab cakes were salty mushy non crab tasting inside Onion straws were greasy, salty some under cooked some overcooked. Heartburn for hours read more

Great food and reasonably priced! Also a great view and nice staff. I got the homemade veggie burger which was really good, and the lobster roll was classic. read more

Food was just OK. I've had much better lobster rolls . I understand "a touch" of Mayo but ours were dry

Really good food! Tons to choose from! I have tried a number of items on the menu, & am always happy. Even if you aren't a seafood lover, there are plenty of other things that are delicious ( my +1 does not eat anything from the ocean) Locals go here to eat what they can catch themselves, that's saying something! read more

Claws - Delicious steak tips! - Seafood Near Me - Rockland, Maine

This place is really that good. Good as it gets. This is a lobster/ seafood shack, not a fine dining restaurant. You go for the good and it makes it. Incredible fried whole belly clam rolls. Perfectly fried crisp but still moist clams. Buttered split top roll, chips and pickle Crab roll filled with 5-6 oz of picked crab with just enough Hellman's mayo to hold together Crab cake burger huge and with lots of crab View of Rockland harbor with lots of seAts but just on hiway 1 Lines can be long but service good. Good food brings lines. Go early or late and don't have to complain All food freshly made and call out your member as soon as done Enjoy read more

Great views from the deck. Very cute decor. Two of us ordered the fried clams. 3 stars because the clams were a little soggy, not crisp. Maybe the oil not hot enough. Great service. read more

Dropped in for a bite last weekend. Ordered 2 dinners, which came to $45.00. As the counter girl was handing me the change she said..... " I may have missed you putting something on the tip jar, but if I didn't, it's really hot in here and everybody is working hard. We would appreciate a good tip " Really ? We won't be back read more

I REALLY wanted to like this place because it had a wonderful atmosphere, but sadly, the lobster roll, which had decent-tasting lobster, was hampered by a very stale roll. I can't believe this roll made it out of the kitchen. We ended up picking out the lobster. We are new to lobster rolls, but as the third one we've had thus far, it left a sour taste in my mouth. read more

Amazing crab roll - bummed they charged a dollar more for butter, but that's alright. The fries were some of the best I've ever had. Next time I'm up that way, definitely going back. read more

Service was extremely slow. Calamari tasted like garbage. All the lobster we ordered was very tasteless and chewy. Coconut pecan haddock was disgustingly fishy tasting and I love seafood. It took over 40 minutes to get our order. Would never go back. read more

Great lobster roll. They offer hot with butter or with mayo whichever way you like. Has the shoestring onion rings too. Great view of rockland harbor read more

Claws is a MUST EAT if you're in the Rockland area. It's a walk up and order spot. Lots of seating with a great view!! Food was great! We had whole belly clam basket and lobster Mac & cheese that were both 10/10! Cannot recommend this spot enough! read more

The other superlative reviews are absolutely on-point. Claws serves succulent fresh lobsters (BIG!), delectable lobster bisque, and absolutely top-rate, stuffed lobster rolls. Sides were equally tasty, especially the cole slaw with just a touch of mayo. Nice selection of beer and wine. Quaint shack with nice waterfront views. This is worth a major detour from your itinerary - forget about the waterfront gyp-joints in Portland and make a beeline for Claws! read more

Good food, slightly higher prices, fun atmosphere, pleasant staff, glad I found this place on Yelp. Had the lobster rolls both traditional (cold) and "Flatlandah" (hot), along with a cup of the lobster bisque and seafood chowder. The cold lobster was definitely more tender than the hot. I do not recommend getting your lobster roll here Flatlandah style. Stick with the traditional. I wound up putting most of the lobster meat from the hot roll into my chowder. It was a bit too chewy to eat in the roll. The lobster bisque was very flavorful. I really liked it but my wife said she thought she has had better in New Orleans. It was still very good. I liked the Cadillac Mountain Stout I had with it. read more

Claws - Traditional and "Flatlandah" lobster rolls, lobster bisque and seafood chowder and a Cadillac Mountain Stout from Atlantic Brewing. - Seafood Near Me - Rockland, Maine

Ugly place, overpriced. Loud blaring canned music . Yuck. Never returning. Good just meh and cost too high.

Delicious lobster rolls filled to the buttery brim with fresh hand-picked lobster meat. Just the right amount of mayo. Seafood chowder was spectacular, with lots of shrimp, haddock, and clams. Clam dip with chips was a nice twist to the crab dip classic. Claws also has a pretty extensive beer selection - including local brews - which was nice. There is only outdoor seating, which is clean, covered, and spacious with an excellent view overlooking Rockland harbor. The owner (local) is really friendly - go support his business!!! read more

Nothing new to add but yet another five star review. The lobster roll is generous, everything is delicious, and the line isn't anywhere near as bad as Red's in Wiscassett. I've been looking forward to this for months! Oh! Do make sure to pick up one of their homemade blueberry or strawberry sodas. They're made with real fruit, and are really tasty. read more

Under 2 lbs of lobster is $ 16.99 per pound. From 2 lb and up is $ 20.00 per pound. So if you ordered 3 lb of lobster. It would be the price of a gold brick. How much is maine lobster from supermarket in Massachusetts? $ 6.99 per pound and often sale price do down to $ 5.99 per pound. And if you add sides and drink. You are talking about $45 to 50 per person for lobster dinner. You do the math? And don't forget, they charge you shell cracker for $2 deposit for each. So if you are goup of 10 make sure to deposit $20 and get it back with retern. What a hospitality. (NEVER heard of this anywhere) read more

Lobster Mac and the bisque was not what I had was thinking at all, did not like. The cup of bisque has four bay leafs in it. Also got crab cake to go and threw it out, way to much filling and no crab. Jonah crab, French fries and potato salad was great. I do have to say the service and women taking orders was wonderful. read more

Nothing fancy about this place, but good prices for fresh live lobster, simply prepared and served on paper plates. This is a must stop for anyone visiting the area. Eating outside with a fresh air also makes the experience so much more memorable. The lobsters and steamers (clams) were definitely stand out dishes and couldn't be more fresh. While in Rockland for a meeting I decided to try a local restaurant rather than grabbing a value meal at a burger place. I logged onto Yelp and I was lead to Claws, and it was good! I got the crab cakes and lobster roll boat. The crab cakes came with two good size cakes and homemade tartar sauce. Delicious! The lobster roll was fresh and lightly dressed, but I would say it was huge. Quality is certainly there though. The cole slaw could have been a bit more tart for my liking, but the golden raisins were a nice touch. The French fries were a pleasant surprise too. Usually places like this have frozen fries (meh) and focus on he seafood. Claws does them both well! Hot crispy fries with soft middles, coated with flaked salt and pepper. Yum! Claws also has a great condiment bar with just about everything you want. The unsweetened ice tea tasted odd too maybe, maybe just super strong? I'd do a soda if I come again. The view is okay, nothing special as far as Rockland goes. Generally I'm not a fan of outdoor seating with it was nice today since it wasn't too hot with a cool breeze. There is off street parking too! Definitely give Claws a try, you won't be disappointed! read more

So glad our friend recommended this place! This is my favorite spot in the area. We stayed in Rockland/Camden area for 3 days and went here 3 times. Seriously incredible. Must get the lobster mac and cheese, lobster roll, and the whole lobsters with butter. Best Mac and cheese I've ever had, best lobster I've ever had and best lobsters I had on my trip!! Also, having had Lobster rolls every day for 6 days in Maine, this is also the best lobster roll I tried!! Easy choice if you're in the area. read more

It was fantastic! Decent prices. Clams were Excellent. Lobsters were cooked fresh and easy to crack. Corn was sweet. Seafood chowder was tasty! No complaints at all about this roadside stop. As a bonus, they even had flossers in the bathroom to get the corn out of yer teeth afterwards. Don't hesitate to go. Kids menu even had fluffernutter choice for kids although mine ate twin lobster special for 15.95. Definitely would go here again if staying in this area. Enjoy! read more

The food is excellent. Biggest lobster rolls. You sit outside to eat it, if you get a table. You wait in line to order your food from a window. You wait again for your number to be called and then you get your food on a tray and carry it over to your table. Children who haven't eaten and don't know how to wait are there. The bathrooms are clean and have funny cartoons about lobsters. read more

We were driving from Bass Harbor Maine to Cape Cod, taking the scenic coastal route. My husband noticed this restaurant as we passed by and mentioned how scenic it was to me. I already had my heart set on going to a different place for lunch which was 3 minutes away in our GPS. But my husband turned the car around and went to this place to show it to me. On looking it up, I found that it had excellent reviews and the views were absolutely breathtaking so we decided to eat there. My husband got the crab cake burger with Red Ale where as I ordered the Maine Lobster Dinner. We got a table overlooking the water. Our food arrived shortly. My husband enjoyed his crabcake burger as the party was thick and full of crab meat. I enjoyed my lobster. It was soft, juicy and absolutely delicious. What a great lunch with breathtaking views! read more

My fiancee and I went to Claws yesterday and were very disappointed. We split a lobster roll and an order of calamari. The lobster roll was fine which is why I am giving 2 stars but the calamari were terrible. We knew they would be served with banana peppers and olives however we did not anticipate that 3/4 of the order would be banana peppers and olives. Also, they did not shake the calamari before frying and as a result some of it got stuck together in one big calamari-banana pepper-olive ball which resulted in the batter being partially uncooked. All in all, I was disappointed in our meal at Claws and do not anticipate returning on our next visit to Rockland. read more

Been to New England and Maine many times and this place is legit. We've had a lot of seafood this past week fried grilled chowdered, etc. and this was the best so far. Seafood chowder was great and buttery. I got the clam roll and it was a far cry from the rubber bands you normally get. Fresh and tender. My wife got the signature haddock which was fresh and delicious too. All around great no frills place cooking up delicious seafood, which is all anyone needs. Go there. read more

My husband and I were visiting Rockland ME for the first time and decided to eschew some of the fancier local spots to try Claws, based on the great reviews and the fact that we wanted to get a real local flavor. This place delivered on both! Totally unpretentious, friendly, and clean spot with a great atmosphere and food to match. Some highlights: - the 2 lb jumbo lobster, with drawn butter - fresh and awesome - the VERY generous and flavorful lobster roll, on point with all its flavors - well-done sides (we had coleslaw, fries, and corn) - nice local beer selection - the bathroom papered in lobster jokes :) All in all, this place was exactly what we had in mind when we booked our vacation to maine, and I mean that as the highest compliment. Local or tourist, definitely try this place! read more

My wife and I were on our way to Acadia and decided to take the coastal route up....Best decision ever!! We wanted to get some good seafood (lobster roll and haddock specifically) and stumbled across this place on our drive. Nice location overlooking water, friendly staff and most importantly probably the best tasting lobster roll and broiled lobster roll we've ever had. No joke. Loads of lobster meat ( tail, claw, knuckle ) prepared just right. Not overloaded with mayo and bursting with fresh lobster flavor. My wife got the broiled haddock sandwich and it was delicious. Perfectly flavored. Would definitely recommend this place again. Can't go wrong. read more
