I tried to put down the vinyl plank but messed it up. They came out clean up my mess, gave me extra pieces and didn't charge me. Always fair prices, quality products and expert installers. Don't waste your time with big box stores that contract the installation out. If you have a problem with them it is almost impossible to contact someone.

Derrick competently presented us with quality carpet options and offered a great deal, including high-rated quality padding with a moisture barrier. This padding enhanced comfort extended the carpet's life, and improved insulation and soundproofing. The most rewarding aspect of working with First American was interfacing with only two people, Derrick, and the installation team, and receiving consistent information. Derrick personally visited our home to precisely measure the bedrooms, hall, and stairway. Jose, the son of Orlando who installed our carpets in 1984, led his team of experienced installers who must have exceeded industry standards and best practices. They did an outstanding job, with seams strategically placed to be inconspicuous and the carpet cut accurately around edges and obstacles, transitioning smoothly to bathroom tiles. Within an hour of project completion, Derrick made a follow-up visit to ensure the carpet met all workmanship standards. He emphasized the importance of proper stretching to avoid potential wrinkles and was pleased with the tight stretch and his precise measurements that minimized waste and ensured a perfect fit. It was a no brainer to choose them. When it comes to the work itself, the craftsmanship was very good, the cuts are so clean and everything looks amazing. They did very fast work without sacrificing quality. The only areas for improvement I would say they could have are: - Communication during the days of the project, so you know without having to ask when they are coming, leaving, what the progress is, etc. - Ensuring when they put furniture and things back that they pay attention to things like hooking up HDMIs back to the correct places - Doing a better job of cleanup -- they left behind a TON of dust coating everything, sawdust in my basement that I presume blew in from leaving the garage entrance open where they were working, cans/water bottles left behind - Building in measurement/space for lower flooring to not leave a gap in the trim; they came back and did some caulking after I had a water/rain issue, but it still doesn't look as good -- I wish that their molding/trim solution filled the big gaps and I'm going to have to find a way to do that myself To their credit, they were very fast and responsive when I had a water issue and came back out the next day. I also had a crack in my basement ceiling where something pounded through or pounded the drywall loose from the flooring above being done, and they credited me enough money back to be able to have my handyman fix it. Overall, I would definitely use DFD again.

And, once I picked floors it turned out that they were comparable or a bit less than other companies. K&K was able to take up old engineered hardwood and install new engineered hardwood in my entire condo in just three days. The staff worked hard, but with care, right down to placing furniture on cardboard so it wouldn't damage my new floors, and vacuuming up wood scraps at the end of the day so my cat wouldn't get a splinter. When it turned out my dishwasher was leaking, they even helped me remove it so we could put new floors under it. Overall, I would 100% recommend this company. They did great work, and offered great customer service too.
