The carpet came in within a couple of weeks and installation was scheduled quickly. The installers, Victor, José, and Maria, were all SOOOOO sweet and incredibly hard-working! They left our newly painted walls in pristine condition! They picked up every errant carpet thread and removed all debris completely. It was if we hadn't had carpet installed. Easy and very helpful to work with. Doug and Lynn were patient in helping us select the hardwood flooring. The tile work (about 152 sq ft) by Jim was excellent and of very high quality. All workers were very punctual arriving to measure for the work, deliver the flooring, and for the tile and hardwood installation, 1200 sq ft.. The floor crew tore up the old carpet, linoleum, and hardwood flooring and installed the new hardwood all in one day. The work was of high quality, very professionally done, the crew excellent and friendly. We had three different estimates all in the same ballpark but went with Doug and Lynn as they were the most personable, easy to work with, and were located close by. read more

Great experience from start to finish! I would suggest you research not only the company but also the flooring product you are installing! We did and were surprised how 4 of the 6 competitors we received estimates from were not completely up front about the products they were trying to sell us. Two of them after two trips into their showrooms finally answered our questions honestly. Until we talked with Bobby Clawes and did our own research we didn't realize most wood flooring local big box, independent installers and national discount installers try to sell you is sourced from Russian trees shipped to China where the wood is cured/dried using chemicals (some banned from use in America as drying agents due to toxicity) By using a chemical process the drying is less half the time similar wood flooring is cured in Canada saving months in the process. The curing methods being shorter will often result in you having problems with the wood 2 to 4 years out, not to mention the chemicals leaching from the wood over time in your home. As we researched and were getting estimates, we found several local and national companies sales people were not aware or not completely honest with us as we asked about where the flooring was coming from, the process the manufacture uses to cure the wood or about the well known wood flooring companies they were representing. Many well know companies source their product from China lowering their cost. In the end a couple companies admitted they either were not aware and two actually said their sales people might have miss understood our questions. Really? I am so glad Bobby was the second person who came to measure our home for our estimate while explaining the process. Then his people in their showroom were more knowledgeable than the other 6 companies we were getting estimates from. Do your research after you speak with Bobby, you will be glad you did! We have two sets of friends who didn't using another company who now have issues with their floors. The installers who installed the floor and the manufacturer will not help them since it outside their limited warranty. One family is currently talking to Clawes about tearing out and replacing the floors they had put in two years ago. Back to Clawes, their installers were great, friendly, knowledgeable, and able to answer our questions about the installation process while giving us tips about how to care for the floors in the future. They were a few minutes late arriving, apologizing as they got to work. The floors look great and we plan to use Clawes when we remodel our basement next year or two. read more

We used Clawes to install hardwoods in our LR, DR, office and stairs. The hardwoods are beautiful and the craftsmanship was fine. Two reasons for the 2 star review: 1- the crew used our garage to saw, which was understandable given it was raining outside. The issue is that they didn't cover anything and everything was completely covered in sawdust. Bags and boxes of books, dishes, etc that we put out there after we emptied it to lighten the load when they moved stuff. 2- the new hardwoods were a different color than our existing hardwoods in the foyer/kitchen. They warned us prior to the installation that they wouldn't be able to match them because they had previously been refinished. Again completely understandable. Issue here is that we requested a 10% discount on the second job (total this was a 12k job). We would have settled for even a 5% discount. They offered us $100 off, best they could do. Long story short....we saved $938 by using another company from Chantilly (lower cost to begin with plus 5% repeat customer discount from when we used them years ago). read more

Excellent customer service and value. I have used this company twice, purchasing carpet initially for a small area and then later to carpet my entire second floor of my home. The first time, was a bit of an emergency since I was just moving into my new home and the existing carpet in the family room reeked of dog urine. They took up the old carpet and pad, sealed the subfloor with Kilz, and installed the new carpet with lush padding in 3 days. I've had the carpet for 4 years and it still looks great in a high traffic area that gets lots use. When I was ready to do the upstairs I shopped around a bit comparing not only price but services too. I went back to Clawes and they did not disappoint. Their staff is very helpful and sends samples of anything you want to your home in a few days. Ordering was easy, the carpet arrived earlier than expected and the scheduling team was very flexible. The install for four bedrooms and the loft took less than a day. The moved and replaced all the furniture, reassembled the beds and even helped put the dust ruffles back on the beds! They vacuumed the new carpet to remove the pieces when everything was back in place. The carpet is beautiful and I am so pleased with their customer service. read more

I first went to Clawes a few weeks ago to get an estimate from hardwood and carpet in my brand new townhome. After I got the quote I was not called back about the carpet that I had purchased nor given an estimated time for delivery and install. I had to track them down and email them complaining about the customer service. This caused me to go with someone else for my hardwood install, $4500 worth of labor and material. Today my carpet was supposed to be installed for my master bedroom but they did not show up for the install. After calling Clawes in Bristow I was told that they were running late. They assured me that their installer had called and left many voicemails, but I had no missed calls nor did I have any voicemail. I reassured the people at the Bristow's location I didn't received any calls, then they told me that they will be arriving at 7 PM (on a Tuesday) to install my carpet. I told him that this was too late and that I was not satisfied with the customer service and lack of communication they displayed. I told him I wanted a refund of my deposit which was $700, for a job that was totaled at $1,300. If you add the carpet and hardwood business they lost from me from terrible customer service, in total they lost $5800 worth of business. I guess clause doing so well that they can just throw out $5800 worth of business and continue to run a successful operation. If there was zero stars on this application I would give them zero stars. read more
