You stayed quite as a mouse and didn't utter a word abs now you are claiming you wanted to help. I gave you guys three chances to help! Fourth time it was you who said " at this point we can not do much!" On top if that Elma told me to buy the fake hair purple clip ons from Amazon to use in my hair to get the look!! I couldn't believe she was suggesting me that after all I went through at her salon!! Yes I am crying yet again as I am typing this and regretting my visits to your salon! Yes my hair were so bad within two weeks that I had to cut my hair with heavy heart! You were blankly rude and offered no help yo resolve! Jessi ( who introduced herself as "I'm Colombian and we have beautiful hair") said I have to see my hair in the day light when I said all three times I DO NOT SEE COLOR PURPLE streaks what I asked her for! You messed up! Admit it! If you couldn't do it what I asked for then at least you could have told me and saved me the hassle plus my hair! It's a shame that you are cheating people like this! Plus making lame excuses by lying! You educated me about what I'm sorry!!! Shame on you for lying. You completely failed to give me a speck of purple in my hair! Shame on you actually! Least you can do is apologize and stop! And no One is bullying you here! You never offered to help! My hair became so patchy and spotty without even watching them! Red color came off on my white leather couch, car seat, bed sheets! Hair broke from half way in length that I couldn't leave them open or tied! I had no choice than to chop them!! I felt horrible, angry, and helpless. You didn't reach out with your wonderful help until I posted this review! I have been coloring my hair for the last 15 years so please don't teach me your fake lesson as I know my hair well! Never had this type of experience ever before! Too bad you don't like your consumers telling the real stories of their experiences! The only person here needing luck is you if you will not change your service quality and customer service! Attached are the pictures of purple streaks I showed Jessi/Jess/ Jessica And all red is my head without any purple hair. Not only that red color came off patchy after the attempts made by the salon also my hair broke from the length ! Also attaching the text I sent to the owner along with pictures. No offers were made to me to correct the color or anything! Worst worst worst salon in NJ! I lost my beautiful hair to this salon! You complain owner will blame it back on you blaming your hair type! They are the "professionals" and not know what they are doing!

Lumie is an upscale salon in South Orange. It has an open, airy, clean design. Having now used…read moretheir services for about a year, I wholeheartedly recommend their services, especially for color and curly hair. Reflecting South Orange and Maplewood, their clientele is multi-racial as is their staff. Having spent years blow drying my hair straight, or sort of straight, I wanted to go back to my natural wavy/curly hair and correct my color. My natural color is medium brown but now is about half gray. For years, I'd colored it a dark auburn, but recently it had become unattractive, sort of harsh looking. Plus the salon I was using while friendly and reasonably priced had little experience in reviving curly hair. I have only had cut, color and highlights with Kosia, the owner. As a new client, we had a consultation. She examined my hair and carefully listened to what I wanted. We reviewed a book of hair color samples; I picked out a color. To set expectations, Kosia told me to take at least two coloring sessions before my hair would match the color I'd selected. She was right. Yes, my hair, when cut properly is curly. We both ended up experimenting with various products to find one that worked consistently well with my hair. Since waiting for color to set in is inherently boring, I spend a lot of time either reading or looking at the other hairdressers and their clients. I've rarely seen anything that doesn't look really good. I've also had my hair highlighted, and unlike prior experiences, the highlights blended very well with my hair so I only need to do this every other appointment. Prices are moderate for a high end salon in Essex County NJ. For example, my Rezo cut is between $100 to $200 at comparable NJ places and far higher in NYC. (Trust me, I checked). I pay $110 with the owner. To be honest, I was used to paying a lot less, but my hair did not look nearly as good. Every place else that provided similar services is roughly the same price or more. My hair looks great! The color is just what I wanted and I now have wavy curly hair. Really cannot recommend highly enough.

I have to say that I am an eyebrow feign. The first time I took a stab at doing my own eyebrows I…read morewas 13. Yeah, there is no photo evidence of that because I completely screwed them up (think hooks for eyebrows). So ever since then, I don't touch my eyebrows. I've always paid to get them wax/threaded/tweezed. It's always been a struggle finding someone who can handle my full eyebrows without leaving me bald or giving me a weird shape. About five years ago I found someone local who was able to work with my full brows. She had a one-style-fits-all approach for brows that happened to work for my brows. But then I started noticing that depending on her mood, she would take too much hair off or overarch my eyebrows. Then our schedules were hard for me to schedule appointments. So eight months ago I was on the search for another brow artist. I found one through Yelp in NYC close to my job and stuck with her for 5 months hoping that she would be able to one day get the shape right. After 5 months of money down the drain, I searched for another local brow artist on Yelp and found Cynthia. I was praying to the brow gods to help me out. After months of inconsistent eyebrows and not feeling my best (I already mentioned I'm an eyebrow feign), in one session I felt like a brand new woman. I'm so happy I found Cynthia and a bonus is she's super close to my house. I've never written a review for either of my past two eyebrow ladies because I felt that although I liked my brows, something wasn't right about them. They were either too arched or too thin. I am beyond pleased with the outcome and she is worth every single penny. I've only been twice (one was a touchup) but I felt like I had to write a review. I'm totally coming back.
