This also included having our kitchen, dining room, living room, front entry way, and hallway sanded, re-stained and polyurethaned to all match. Remodel Express hired a subcontractor, ******, who had two installers come and do our floors. It was expressly discussed with ****** and ******** that we had custom floors and our number 1 concern was to keep the character of the floors and avoid sanding too much off making the floor look like a gymnasium floor. ****** inspected and said that they would just sand down about 1/16th of an inch, just enough to remove the old finish but keep the hand scraped appearance around the edges. His guys came and promptly sanded our floors past the 1/16" th which the guy stated that he sanded them way down because our floor was not level, but it was flat and level now! He did not ask in advance I explained that we had agreed to only sand 1/16th of an inch but that he went too far and sanded out all the hand scraped edges and character of the boards leaving a tightly fitted floor which we did not want. He then told us that he could fix it with a special rotary tool (skill saw) but would have to bring it the following day. He stained the floor and then used his "rotary tool" and ran random, sloppy wide 1/4" gaps randomly all over our floor leaving crooked, splintered, burned and separated areas that looked horrible. He did not even transition the doorways and instead just rubbed stain across without even blending. He commented that his nephew was drunk on the last day and did not show up to help and he was in a hurry for another job and left without notifying us. We complained and the companies both came out and agreed that our floor was poorly done and they would collaborate and get back to us. It has been 4 weeks and they have not returned my calls or texts.

The caulk between the shower walls is cracked and covers with quarter round porcelain! On top of that, Ray was rude and disrespectful. I gave the manager a courtesy call before placing this review last week, and she did not get back to me as she promised. Google has two reviews 5 stars seem from two family members. You have to search hard to find reviews for Remodel Express, which is the same company as Flamingo Flooring according to the manager. These reviews were on a website that you can't place a review on. Make sure to stay away from them and hire a company that values their customers, stands behind their work, and is registered in the BBB.

Rachel carefully shared her thoughts and helped me see that what I wanted was a modern farmhouse. Along the way, she provided us with multiple versions of designs and was always willing to tweak them to make it easier for us to make decisions. Besides designing our kitchen Rachel was involved in all aspects of our project by helping us select flooring materials, paint and cabinet colors, hardware, new fireplace design and lighting fixtures. She took us shopping for backsplash tile and countertops. Rachel responded to questions promptly which helped keep the worries down to a minimum. We have had this company complete both a kitchen and a bath remodel. The issues I will bring up were consistent with both of these jobs. During both of our remodels, the biggest complaints I had were communication and quality. Two big components that a company should really pride themselves on if they cared about their customer base. Communication for our projects failed at almost every step of the way. The conversations had between us and the salesman were great, and then almost every single interaction that was not only had between us and the company but the company within themselves was comically poor. Some examples include: 1. Being told we would have a project manager come to our house prior to the project to check out our attic for structural questions (no one ever came before they started knocking down walls) 2. There were days workers would show up when we didn't know they were coming and not show up on days we were told they were supposed to be there. Not to mention the tile workers who had their truck parked outside our house from 8-5 but stayed in there late and left early to smoke. 3. Several unanswered/not returned calls and texts from the project managers. The only time the office reached out to tell us about something? When the bill was "due" even though our project wasn't complete yet. 4. Our salesman saying a project would take 3 weeks when in reality, it's been 3.5 months and there are still issues. 5. Anytime we asked the current workers what the plan was for the next day or really anything, they NEVER knew. They didn't know who was going to be working, they didn't know when, and they didn't know on what. 6. Several of the workers telling us point blank that their fellow workers screwed up and did things wrong. Good thing we caught it I guess? 7. Tile was about to be installed until I noticed it was not the right time, and the workers had no idea and they didn't know what tile they were actually supposed to put down or in what pattern. Then tile had to be ordered, delaying us even further. 8. The list goes on and on. It's as though no one in the company ever talks to each other, or their customer, and we're left trying to put the pieces together. Secondly, their quality of work is not worth what you pay, not even close. There has not been a single thing that they've done that we haven't had to ask them to fix or redo. This adds time to the project, financial strain on us as customers, and not to mention the stress of constantly acting as a project manager. We have had MAJOR things need to be redone (I'm talking walls needing to be taken apart and rebuilt, cabinet and ceiling painting, relocating outlets, and an ENTIRE SHOWER FLOOR), as well as other things (paint chipped walls, bad putty jobs, grout crumbling, paint splattered inside and outside the house and on and on) and all of it was because no one from their team cares enough to do it right the first time. The pictures I will include show *finished* products that they think are appropriate to leave as a job well done. Not only that, but just this last time when pointing out that the glass they had "special ordered" was actually measured wrong and therefore our shower door is crooked, I was told that my "OCD will just have to live with it." This company is not worth your time or effort. I would never recommend them to anyone.
