I called Classic Rock Granite because a different local granite company made an error that needed correcting. That company wanted to charge me $150 to enlarge a hole for a faucet they had made too small. Frustrated, I called Classic Rock to see what they would charge. I spoke with Virgilio and he said they would only charge me $25. He was very surprised this other company would demand so much. They came the next day and drilled the new hole within ten minutes. I am so grateful to them and to Classic Granite. Highly recommend. Very polite and professional and they really saved the day. read more

Stay away. They made mistakes and poorly communicated through every step of the process. It started with them not tagging our stone, thus not cutting it on time. This was identified when we called to finalize the install schedule and it became clear they hadn't started the fabrication. Then, they cut the wrong edges into the stone, and forgot 2 of the 4 line items on the order. Every call we placed resulted in a "we'll call you in 1-2 hours" which never resulted in a call back. This went on for weeks, with each call adding the frustration. Eventually, we got the stones in, and 2 weeks later got the backsplash. The project is essentially complete, but they were the worst vendor on the project, and made a very simple project very arduous. They consistent missed on the simple things, clearly have no business processes, and are not prepared to handle the simplest job. read more

I don't generally leave reviews but, in this case, I was very unhappy with my experience using Classic Rock. Their communication was very poor and they never followed through with any requests for additional information on our stone. Their workers showed up, unexpectedly, both times they were at the house; once two hours early, the second time without any notification at all. When our old countertops were removed, they were left outside our back door and blocked our neighbor's driveway, even though we paid for their removal. We called shortly after their workers left around 2 pm and told them the countertops had to removed that day, no excuses, since they weren't totally on our property. The countertops were not picked up until the following morning. When they did pick them up, they left their trash in a box they felt entitled to dump stone dust in that was open and leaking out the bottom. They also left a mess on the back porch. Finally, the installation was less then perfect. My experience with Granite Girls was much better. They were very responsive and professional. read more

This company is very unprofessional and has a low quality of craftsmanship. Their timelines are greatly underestimated (they doubled their original installation estimate). This is very frustrating during a kitchen reno!! I originally went to the remnant shop and picked out a slab. The quoted price was high for what we were getting. We only needed about 16 sq ft of countertop and we were quoted $1800. I hadn't done any research at this point so I thought this was normal. They seemed nice enough so I decided to follow through to an appointment with the business office to talk about price and give a deposit. I was able to get the price down slightly by omitting a backsplash and not taking advantage of a free vanity. That was nice so I paid the deposit and set a date for them to come measure. When it was finally time to measure, the man came on the agreed time and day and did some preliminary measurements. He came by a wonky wall and said that he would need to come back tomorrow to do a template. I told him that was fine and asked him what time and he said they'd be in touch. The next day came and went and no one showed up. I called the business office to see what happened. She said no one told her of the appointment and that the guys probably just forgot. Ummm is that a valid excuse for a business? That was a flag. I then asked if they could come by that day to measure. She said probably not because it was a Saturday. She then says Monday for sure. I was annoyed but didn't feel like there was another choice. Monday comes and by the evening I start to wonder where the men are. I give the office a call and she said they won't be able to come out that day because they were out of template paper. The whole business is measuring for countertops! How do you run out of essential tools you need to accurately measure the countertops? We then had to wait until Tuesday for the template measurements. The man came and began to measure with the template. The papers weren't stretched from the wall to the sink but I assumed he knew what he was doing. I ask him when the countertops would be installed he said a couple of days. I said ok. A few days later I call to see what time they are coming. Surprise surprise, they weren't. They were apparently booked and wouldn't be able to come that day. How is that ok to tell a client a day and then just disregard that? She said the next day for sure. I asked what time she said between 10 and noon. At this point, my trust in them has dwindled. Noon comes and goes and no one is there. I give them a call to see where the men were and get the rude response of "be patient". Yes, I would have no problem being patient if they had a track record of trustworthy and timely commitments. But when you miss appointment after appointment my patience has dwindled. I ask when they were going to get there and he says soon. Great. So between 10 and noon actually means 12:30. I must have just missed that memo. I had plumbers waiting for days for these guys to get their act together so they could actually install a sink for us so we could stop doing dishes in the bathroom. Countertop guys finally get here and do their thing and then leave. I check out their work quickly and it looks ok. After spending a few minutes in the kitchen I notice a quarter of inch gap between the wall and the countertop. The only explanation for the gap would be the wrong measurements. I am livid. I call the office and she sends someone over to "fix" the problem. The guy gets a caulking gun and put some caulk there and leaves. I ask him if that's it and he says yes and then leaves. I call the office again and tell her what happened. She tells me she's with a client and will call me back. Thirty minutes later and still nothing. I give a call and a man picks up and says that the lady I was talking to left for the day. Ummm what?? I was waiting for a call to fix this ugly problem and you leave without a word? That's scummy. So I tell him the problem and he says "oh it's just a quarter of an inch and you're just being particular? Ok." Yes, I am being particular because I'm spending over $1500 for this countertop. He gets there and blames the wall and then the plumbers and then us. They are so scummy and won't admit that THEIR men made the wrong measurement and that this is the company's fault. He finally pushes the countertop to the wall. It looked better so he leaves. I then see that the gap has, of course, pushed to the other side by the sink. Now there is just space there. Upon further inspection, I see gaps in four different areas around the kitchen. The measurements the guys took with their precious templates were crap. The kitchen has glaring gaps that are unprofessional. They did a shoddy job and I paid over a thousand dollars for countertops that don't fit well and were poorly measured. I mean honestly. This is THEIR JOB. How do they get the one thing they do wrong? read more

I was doing a bathroom remodel and needed an odd piece of stone for a large window sill. I searched to find a place that had remnants and came upon Classic Rock. Nicole and Isaiah helped me find a slab that worked with my tile and easily put my order in. There was a hiccup with measuring to that didn't account for the window crank which they fixed quickly the day of. Classic Rock is by far the worst business I have ever worked with. My husband and I picked out the granite the 3rd week in March and after numerous visits to our home the horror show finally ended the second week in June however, there are still issues. The majority of the appointments scheduled to come to our house were cancelled because of "an issue that needed immediate attention" or if they did show up they were consistently late by more than an hour. The day the counter top was being installed the technician glued the counter top to the cabinets and it registered with him he had not installed the sink. He decided to try to pick the granite up and unfortunately he broke a large piece of granite off the counter top. The next day the same technician returned with the broken half of the counter however, the left and right sections of the granite were different sizes and did not line up. The replacement section was so poorly cut it does not lay flat against the sink. Three corners were also broken, one on the counter top and the corner of the island. The backsplash was cut to short and to rectify this issue a piece of granite was cut and added to this section. This is very obvious due to not being cut evenly and a huge seam is so visible. Finally, the owner came to our house (and of course he was more than an hour late) and told us the large scratch across the island was part of the stone. Really? Then why is the scratch only in one spot? There are a couple of chips on the island and I was told this was also part of the stone. I looked at my friends granite and there was not any "natural scratches" or "chips." The second to the last time someone came to our house he used an epoxy of some sort. When I brought to his attention the area he worked on was dull he assured me that once dried it would shine. Well the 3X4 inch dull spot remained. I was also told the white epoxy used between the bottom of back splash and counter top would dry clear and that did not happen either. I called Classic Rock and again asked for someone to come back and fix the newer issue and he did show up 3 hours late. I spoke to someone regarding the granite installed in the house and I was told the company she works for in Maine has not used Butterfly Green in more than 10 years because it is very difficult to work with and some of the work had to be reinstalled. When I brought this up to Isiah he was mortified I spoke to someone about this. We were also told we would receive the drain parts that went with the sink which never happened. My husband received a telephone call from the sales person we worked with and was very sorry for the issues we were experiencing and to make up for this we would be receiving a granite sink for our bathroom. This never happened either. The issues we experienced were with the kitchen so no matter what they offered as a bargaining chip, it would not fix the issues in the kitchen. Classic Rock should go back to square one and learn the business. My kitchen is as good as it gets I guess. Every time I look at the granite all I see are imperfections. Many of them. Please do yourself a favor and much heartache, fine a reputable company to install your granite. You will be very disappointed with their work. Beware! My experience with them started off okay but some things didn't make sense. For example, they sent me to a place in Wilmington to select the granite but then never quoted me for the pieces I selected. Instead they offered me a remnant slab from their warehouse in Beverly at a "discount". Great, right?!? Wrong. I scheduled this work 4 weeks in advance. On the day of installation they called to tell me that they couldn't come until 2 days later. Okay, no problem. Then on the day of installation they called to tell me that they cracked my granite and offered me a "more expensive" piece and 2 marble kitchen accessories for my trouble. I had no choice since they had already demolished my kitchen. So I agreed. They showed up to install at 6pm. They did not drill the hole for the soap dispenser and offered to come back a few days later to do it for free. Made an appointment for a Saturday morning, they never called or showed up. It's been 3 weeks and I have not received the accessories nor is there a hole for the soap dispenser. I've called the woman I've been dealing with repeatedly, with zero success. While the granite looks nice, it's the poor customer service that sticks in my mind. And in hindsight was telling from the very beginning. I'm a novice at home improvement companies but have been told repeatedly that most are cheating jerks. I wanted to be the nice customer that they did right by, but I was wrong. Do not believe them.
