The service was amazing, the lady that took my order was very nice. The food was good. I'm not really a hotdog person but it did remind me of Chicago. The gyro was decent. Fetta cheese cost extra to put on, I thought that was pretty uncommon. The fries were seasoned good.

This little spot is a hidden gem run by a very kind couple with incredible work ethic. I have over several occasions seen them working tirelessly to prepare the meals from scratch and you can taste the difference in their food. This is as close as it gets to eating real middle eastern food in this area. Everything we have tried here was delicious. My favorite middle eastern dishes from this spot are their mixed grill platter, fatoush salad, and their gyro salad - which are all exceptional. The meat is juicy and cooked to perfection which the burst of flavors in the salad makes the combo satisfying. If you're not a huge fan of middle eastern food but you like to try unique American food/treats, then this spot is also the place to be. From Chicago style hot dogs, Philly cheese steaks to deep fried Twinkie's - there is literally something here to make everyone happy!

Possibly the best Small Side of Baba Ghanouj i've enjoyed around STL #BradyEats

Went for a Mediterranean-Food fix and they clearly got high marks! I was fooled by the name "Classic Red Hots" as I rarely eat hot dogs. After having been to over 6 other restaurants, Albashas nailed the flavors we craved. Definitely going back for their Eggplant Baba ghanouj and a fork tender Lamb Mansaf which was plated on a bed of rice with lemon-pita sauce and crunchy fancy sliced almonds. The Mediterranean Persian Lebanese flavors really shine in this somewhat hidden gem with counter-service & takeaway. Enjoyed w pics 2022Nov02 outside for lunch. They really are large entrée sized meals, priced accordingly, in which we literally brought home another meal for two. Shannon next door at Our Free Water Store said their hummus was excellent too. I may never buy store-bought again and save up for this tastebuds treat! Thanks for liking, sharing, and following Sean J. Brady #BradyEats #NeighborhoodTastingSociety #FOOD #FUN

Fried Twinki! Yum, Yum, Yum!! (Already ate most of the Powdered Sugar)

Hands down the best Gyro I've ever had! I'm from LA and have tried various versions, but this place has landed at the very top of my list! I got it with every on it...I think it's the yummy sauce they use that sets it ahead of the game! Great prices for the portions they serve! Love the simplicity of the shop and the heartwarming service here. Fast service as well! Perfect spot to stop with the kids! They loved their Hot Dogs (didn't take a pic) and the cheese fries have them asking me to take them back already! Lastly, the Deep Fried Twinkies...words can not describe! lol but I will try my best... yum, yum, yummy!!! The heap of fine powdered sugar on top is what gives it a similar taste of a funnel cake (the good kind you get at Six Flags or Disneyland) but then you hit the center and the cool cream balances out the fried outside. Pure dessert perfection! Highly Recommend the Gyro, cheese fries, Chicago Dog and Fried Twinkies! Hope you enjoy it as much as me and the kids did!

I just moved into the area, never really got anything from this strip mall except firehouse subs. I really wanted a gyro, gave this place a try. Ordered directly off their online menu, that was super easy cause it was done through grub hub. Upon entering, the man at the counter was extremely rude. He asked for my order, I had to repeat it about 10 times, said my name, my order number, the items on the order, even showed him my receipt, and it was as if he didn't believe I had placed an order. After finally receiving my food, I got the Chicago dog and a beef (what I thought was going to be beef) gyro. Chicago dog was ok, bu the beef if you can call it beef gyro was interesting. First of all, super salty, second the "beef" was more like mystery meat. I thought it was beef, tasted more like a breakfast sausage, could've been lamb, was cut into these rectangular slabs. Gyro had a ton of "meat", so that's the only good part. I'd go back if I really wanted a hot dog, gyros not so much.

The food and service are amazing! The kabsa, mansaf, and gyro are the best. I've been visiting regularly for a couple of years.

Naturally, we started with saganaki because if nobody is yelling OPA! Is that even dinner? I ordered the swordfish, and winner winner! Swordfish is my favorite fish, so I have standards, and this one made me happy. Getting the family together, passing dishes around, lighting cheese on fire. This is definitely a reason to even have dinner. Spiro's is a St. Louis area classic for a reason. Bring your family and prepare to yell OPA!

Much older crowd. We Had dinner with another couple. Wish I took pictures of our food but now I know why haven't returned here in over a decade. I had hummus appetizer. Hummus was small portion and pita bread cut into quarters had some carrots slivers too. Pita was not even warm. I had the Lamb Shank. The meat was tender but sadly covered with a brown pasty flavor less gravy that ruined it and couldnt tell if it was fresh or not. Our waitress heated my dish at table side on a burner but didn't do it very long and temperature of food was luke warm, at best. Had to flag other people down just to get. Ice tea refill. They delayed my wife's dinner. My mixed vegetables were soggy like it sat in water. My wife got a platter:"Hot Platter" 3 shrimp and spanakopita and like spinach cake and flaming cheese. Even after flaming presentation, She told me felt like just pulled out of refrigerator cheese wasn't warm. The flaming cheese while nice presentation was also mediocre at best. She only finished 1/3 of her meal. We are regular diners from fast food (have 2 teenagers) to nice sit down dinners. We both agreed this was inedible meal, poor food rating IMHO. As soon as we left, had to take 2 chewable Tums on way back; food did not sit well with me. I was ill rest of evening and still feel uneasy updating this 6 am Tuesday. Wonder how fresh food served on a Monday was. IMHO, NOT worth $100 or even less if it affected my Stomach. I wouldn't do it again even if free of charge; not willing to gamble. NOT on our return list ! BTW, the service was mediocre. My wife and I mentioned last month we took a cruise RC, what a wonderful top tier quality of food in main dining room and service on a cruise was just as good or better than any 5* Restaurants; puts Spiro to shame once you've had wonderful meals. I miss the "Greek Gourmet" on N. new Ballas. It was real Greek food from the 90s and Cafeteria style. Will not becoming back! Hope I recover soon as literally I was GI ill as soon as we arrived Home last evening.

It's a quiet location perfect for a tete a tete or a family gathering, where you feel wrapped in the experience. My husband will tell you, the only draw back is the price. Typically, they have gyro meat on it from the places that I usually get them from. This place does not, it had four chunks of chicken, four pieces of shrimp, four chunks of steak and a ground lamb kabob We also got the beef shawarma plate, and the intention was me and my husband were going to share everything Along with the hummus, they served pickled vegetables. The hummus was probably the best hummus I've ever had in my entire life. The food itself, the meat portion was very good. The rice had zero flavor and it was a very large portion of rice. I feel for the pricing, we didn't get as much meat as I have in other Mediterranean places. I loaded a updated menu photo. They have a lot to choose from. I guess if you eat the rice, she would walk out of there very full. But most of the time when I get a grilled meat platter, we have food to take home. That was not the case here.

I read other reviews and immediately that I wanted to try their lemonade with mint, which was heavenly. It was extremely refreshing, not too sweet, not too sour, tiny chopped leaves of mint floating around like confetti. I ordered the lamb shank, a plate of pickles, and also ordered falafel and avocado dip to go. The lamb was very well seasoned and fall of the bone tender. The accompanying cucumber bits in yogurt sauce was refreshing. The side of mushrooms with carrots and corn kernels that came with the dish was mediocre, particularly since the consistency and look of the mushrooms looked like they came from a can, but I may be wrong. The plate of pickles was delightful. I will admit that I was very disappointed because I had read that lentil soup would be complementary with main dishes when anyone dined in until 4 PM, but I'd never had any lentil soup at all, unless I am mistaken about the offer. Service was fast, even though there was only one server, who was, by the way, very polite and attentive. All in all, I will be back and I might actually end up being regular here.

I have driven by many, many times and have not taken the time to investigate. I kind of assumed it was Indian cuisine or maybe pan-Mediterranean. I had no idea. She told me that they provide a complimentary small serving of the lentil soup with meals, but we asked for a large serving each and shared an Iraqi Chicken Tikka sandwich. The soup was delivered first, and I must say that it is very good. It has delicious chicken flavor and is not really spiced in any other way, although there is plenty of salt. We loved it.
