So park first and then pay at a fold up table at the entrance. You can choose to purchase tickets for rides or a wristband for unlimited rides. Even if you only choose to just walk around, there's lots to see including goats, cows, pumpkins, and decorations. There are plenty of picture opportunities. The people working there were nice. The cost of the pumpkins that you pick from the ground range from $4 to the smallest ones to $12 for a good large sized medium. The prices and sizes go up from there as well. They also have smaller decorative pumpkin and gourds for about $2, in all colors and types including the bumpy ones.

Tip: follow them on instagram to get the latest updates on hours and available fruits for picking. The place is quite large, so you'll need to pay for their tractor ride ($4) to get from station to station. We came around 10:00 a.m. on a Monday and the place wasn't crowded. We picked up our baskets and then let the kids place around their tree house for a little bit before getting on the tractor. Our first stop was peaches and apricots. The peaches were pretty low hanging, and the kids were so excited to pick them. However, there weren't that many ripe ones at this time. There were more ripe apricots, and they were sweet and juicy. Our next stop was the strawberry station where there were plenty of ripe strawberries. Our last stop was the cherry station. Our driver directed us to the last row where we could find ladders. Sure enough the cherries were plentiful and so sweet and juicy. There were even kid size ladders for the littles ones. The fruits were 100 times better than what you'll find at the grocery store, and the kids had so much fun picking their own fruits. If you need a fun activity with the kids, I high recommend coming here.

There are so many camps to chose from in the East Bay but what we have been loving about Aran's Art Camp is the intimate group size: there's no more than 10 kids per art camp and we've lucked out with an even smaller group during our time here. The camp is taught by a mix of Aran herself and her staff and they've been nothing but wonderful. My kiddo comes home from art camp every day bursting at the seams about everything he's worked on and learned (giving me safety tips about glass fusing and teaching me what a pinch pot is!) and he looks forward to going back each day. Each week is a different theme so if you wanted to sign up for multiple sessions, your child will definitely be working on something different each time. While the hours are 10-2, they offer before and after care for an additional fee which basically turns this into an all day camp if you were to maximize on the 9-3 aspect of it. There's a lot of half day camps out there so if you use their before and after camp, you get a good chunk of the day covered! Lastly, they go to the park every day after lunch to let them move around and get some sunshine and Fridays is pizza day! My kid said he would love to come back to art camp again next summer.

This was an awesome first time experience for my family and I. None of us went cherry picking…read morebefore, and my friend had suggested we all go together since it's an outdoor activity. G&S farms have reservations available through their website. Perhaps to prevent overcrowding. I don't know if there's any difference between walk-ins and people with reservations, but for every ticket you purchase, you get your first lb of cherries free. Each lb of cherries costs $3.50. The parking entrance for parties with reservations is kind of easy to miss. They have a sign that says cherry picking is available, and people with reservations have their own parking lot, but because there is a lot of farms around, without a clear "G&S Farms" sign, it's hard to tell them apart. It would be better if they have signs right at the lot entrance. When we got into the lot, there were quite a lot of people. The front lot was nearly full, but thankfully we found a spot close to the entrance. There's a designated table for you to check in first. They provide bags for the cherries and they have a sign that shows you the cherry varieties available for picking. The varieties are color coded by the color shown on the tree trunks. The employees at the table will also let you know which row they suggest you start picking from. Note: Make sure you have your QR code from your receipt loaded and ready for when you're done cherry picking because that'll be your discount ticket. Although there's a lot of people, because the farm was huge, there's plenty of social distancing. We didn't come across that many people while picking cherries, and if we did, they were wearing their masks. My family had so much fun cherry picking. There was a lot of tree climbing involved, and we came out with four heavy bags of cherries. We even got to take a glimpse of a nest, which was really cool! I only came across two spots where you can pay for your cherries after you're done. There was the one at the front entrance (same table where you check in) and a table at the side of the farm. With the QR code shown on your receipt, you'll get your first lb of cherries free. All in all, if you're looking for a fun and safe outdoor activity during the pandemic, and you don't mind getting your clothes dirty, this may be just the activity to try out.
