Meadows National Gun Club - Georgia State Championship 2020

The site of the US Open of Sporting clays and other major events this place is by far one of the finest ranges I have seen. The Meadows allows for shotgun sports challenges for shooters of all skill levels and abilities. It boasts a phenomenal trap range, which posses launching positions for all levels of shooter. They have a five stand course that will challenge even the best shooters, they shooting positions are mostly covered, therefore weather is not always a problem. The monumental pinnacle of the club is the world class sporting clays course. 100 targets, walking to different shooting positions, rabbits, gophers, side, back, flying toward the shooter, crossing, report pairs and true pairs. The course is absolutely amazing! The club is affordable even for those who don't have a membership, although, if you dont, you cannot shoot on certain weekends without a member. They rent guns if you want to try or don't own a shotgun as well as teach clinics on safety and shooting. They sell limited beverages and small snacks, ammo, hearing protection and even merchandise including shirts, hats, vests, etc. The Meadows National Gun Club is an jewel in middle Georgia and is truly a must shoot for shooting sports enthusiasts and event those who simply want to try. The staff is friendly and care very much about the shooters using their facility. I used them in college for a couple of events, and they are cordial, professional and very willing to work with groups. They get a huge high five from me and five stars as a review.

Bill's teaching is superb! I recommend him to anyone looking to improve their skills or first starting out. It's not a big fancy gun range, and the higher caliber handguns we enjoy shooting must stay home (like my husband's S&W 500 revolver). The range gets very chilly when we have the rare cold day here in GA, so dress according to the weather outside. Unlike some indoor ranges I've visited, Eagle enforces common sense safety practices and their range rules. The employees constantly monitor all activity and provide assistance, so I feel more comfortable shooting. I wish every range did this! Targets, ammo, eye & ear protection(rental) are available for purchase if needed. You're not timed and pay to rent a lane. Eagle has a variety of guns in common calibers available to rent. A few more would be nice; however I did rent a Bersa Thunder .380 recently to try out for my mother. We later bought her one. About 2 years ago I rented a Ruger GP-100 .357, and now that's my newest addition. Remember that Glock 19 I mentioned at the beginning of this review... yep, a Christmas gift for the husband! We also take our guns to Eagle for maintenance and repairs. Mike does fantastic work. A+ If you're looking for something fun to do with your spouse/significant other or you want to get into shooting I highly recommend Eagle Gun Range.

Katrina of Responsibly Armed was the trainer and did an excellent job. I loved being in a class where I could be the focus and ask as many questions as possible and do return demonstration. Out on the range I shot a Smith & Wesson M&P 380 Shield. Oh yeah, that first shot was in the blue. You see it? (Warm Up).. Now feast your eyes on those others. Multiple shots in the same exact hole on many hits but stayed in the white and even shot in the red on the following shots after #1. You know they say practice makes perfect. So I will be back. If you don't use it, you lose it. Rule #1 Treat Every Firearm As If It's Loaded. Safety First People.

Griffin Gun Club - Quiet Riot & Silencer Co event - testing a Les Baer tactical recon rifle chambered in .308.

"stalls" are sectioned to what looks like 2 target holders each, with about 3 in total. I'm not sure if this is just for pistols on a normal day though. For the Quiet Riot and Silencer Co event, they brought out an assortment of shotguns, bolt action rifles, semi automatic rifles, sub / compact rifles, and some pistols. Each had a suppressor from Silencer Co. I've shot various semi auto rifles before with a suppressor equipped, and the weight distribution was usually front heavy. Even though most of the bolt action rifles were attached with bi-pods. Everything just felt very balanced. Positioning and sighting the targets through the scope was pretty easy. Though some scopes were sighted beyond I guess the 25 yards that the demo had everything setup for. Though we couldn't shoot a full magazine of ammo; lines weren't that long to come back and try another caliber / gun. My favorite was the Les Baer tactical recon chambered in .308. Normally this type of round in my cousins Remington rifle, just about tears my shoulder out of socket from the recoil. But with the custom Les Baer rifle they had to demo, recoil was barely there and very manageable. This is going to be on my wish list and will be saving up for one. {Summary}: I'm not sure how normal operations are like for a weekend day at the Griffin Gun Club, but everyone one seemed pretty friendly and just enjoying the sport. This is why I'm still not ever going to pick up golf, which would probably put me to sleep if I wasn't driving the cart around and doing donuts. Don't get me wrong, I don't view firearms as toys. But as tools to defend and protect myself and the people I care for once you are properly trained to use one.

At 77, I'm now "aging out", though I suspect I had a great deal to offer. Unless ownership has changed, don't waste your time: foax like this give shooters and shooting clubs a bad name.

Don't get me wrong after the first few times coming here I learned just to say no thanks before they even say anything there only job is trying to stop you from minding you're own business but if you're socially akward or don't know how to say no then welcome to the place your never gunna come back too cause it's about to be terrible

First of all, the store only had one "archery guy," and he left two hours before the store closed. Then again, I guess he can leave whenever he wants. What are they going to do, fire their only "archery guy"? Guy has to be pulling six figures with that kind of job security. Needless to say, after searching the store and finally finding someone to help, no one there even knew the price of loose arrows, much less were able to cut any. Fine... I'll get them online. But wait, there's more! If you thought getting your hands on a fishing or hunting license would be a piece of cake, think again. We approached the lady at the service desk, the one that didn't so much as wave at us as we walked in and asked for a fishing license. Now, I'm not sure if what she said was true or if she just didn't feel like making it, but, surprise, surprise, the printer was as broken as my dreams of getting any customer service in the place! The crazy part is that hunting season starts just next month. I wonder how much this place is missing out on?? All in all, if you're seeking an adventure in customer service wilderness, head over to Bass Pro Shop. Who knows, maybe you'll get to see the legendary "archery guy" who comes and goes like a fleeting breeze, and if you're lucky, you might even get a glimpse of the broken license printer operated by a surly woman that just didn't seem to want to be there. Just be prepared to take matters into your own hands because, in this shop, you're the captain of your own retail ship. Good luck, brave shoppers! You'll need it.
