I have to say the owner and and his wife who work there are extremely friendly and I've taken clothes there before and everything was great. However, this last time I had them hem two jeans and when I picked them up a week later the smell was unbearable. I really didn't notice until I got home because they were wrapped in plastic and were in the car in the back with my car windows open. I don't know if the smell was from their kitchen or some kind of bad smelling food but how could it be since this is a business? But the stench was extremely bad. I washed them twice and I aired them outside and left them out for a few days. I even sprayed the jeans with Lysol spray that you can use on fabric and upholstery and is supposed to kill 99% of germs. Unfortunately, the smell remained. I can't wear these jeans anymore because of the bad soaked in smell. It reminded me of the Seinfeld episode when Jerry got his car back from the valet and he and Elaine noticed an extremely bad smell of BO that never went away. The episode was pretty funny. The man in this place is very friendly, it is usually my family's dry clean place, for years. But I brought my knitted jacket for dry clean for the first time, my bad I didn't check after I picked it up, went back home and took it out from the plastic laundry cover, so surprised of the smell, I don't wanna offend anyone but I can surely tell, a lady must have wore my knitted jacket and absorbed the body odor. Secondly, which makes me more positive on someone must wore my knitted jacket - the hair, one or two are fine, may be just hair fall, but I found quite a few long and middle length curly hair, most are black, one is black and white, I have no idea any lady works there bcoz that was my first time visit, but which seems an older lady must have "handled" my knitted jacket. Tbh, I do support small business, but I don't like my knitted jacket came back with strong body odor and few hair after dry cleaning. Now I have to spend and bring it to somewhere else and do the dry clean again :( read more

I've been coming here for years but lately they have changed their attitude for the worst. I've lived in Rodeo area for over 40 years, I've seen cleaners come and go. I thought their longevity was a testament to their customer service. I guess I was wrong. I brought in 2 "untuck it" shirts and returned to pick them up 5/6 weeks later(I travel a tremendous amount) - only to discover they were not there and the owner has zero to no empathy to loosing them. He pretty much told me, they not here and I can't do anything about it. Even though I presented a ticket that clearly states the shirts were left there. He asked me if they were at my house, as if I'm trying to swindle him out of the cost for my 2 shirts. I've never once complained about price or service, but this rubbed me the wrong way big time. I'll drive 5 miles to another cleaners before I return, based on his response to my simple request of giving me the shirts I left. I never once asked for a penny. No demands, no public display of any kind. I listen to him offer me somebody else's shirts and simply walked out. I won't return. I work too hard and my time is too valuable to be "accused" of anything. If you go there, make sure you know - you've been warned. read more

I brought my formal gown here for a simple alteration, zipper replacement. It was returned a week later severely damaged. The zipper and center back seams were badly puckered, the bodice seam was no longer aligned and for reasons I can not imagine they sewed over, extending the back seam upward, the majority of the 20 inch zipper. In other words I could only unzip the floor length dress about 8 inches. This is not the place for alterations! read more

Prior to coming to classic cleaners, we went to some dry cleaners at Hercules /Rodeo next to Burger King... that dry cleaner owner said he can't do it & would take 2 weeks to get the stains out. My Grandfather & I have been coming to this dry cleanser's for year because it is convenient & in town but they have always treated us good here. I was a little concerned that when the old owner John & his wife Saub sold it. It just would not be the same. Guel & his daughter have done a fabulous job keeping up the rapport with us that the old owners had. They always do a nice job on my clothing. Overall they are nice people & they make you feel welcome. There was only (1) time where they had forgotten to fix my trench coat I had dropped off because I requested it to be dry cleaned & to repair the pocket because inside of it had worn threw & created a whole but I brought it back & they fixed it with no questions asked & Guel was apologetic and said "Sure thing honey don't worry about it!" I called this place a few days back because I needed to get my bridesmaid dress altered. Looked on yelp and saw they had good reviews. I called to see if I needed an appointment or if they took walk-in's. The gentleman who picked up was really nice and cheerful and he told me that the lady who does alterations isn't there all the time. To call ahead the day you need alterations done to see if she was in. I called today, and I don't know what was wrong...but the same guy picked up and was SUPER RUDE!! I asked if I could get my alterations done and if the lady was in...and with the rudest voice he said "NO! NOT TODAY!". On my end of the line, I made this WTF kind of face, said "Well, thank you." and hung up. I called Park Lake Cleaners in Hercules, and they said I could come in anytime and get my dress altered no problem! It's such an inconvenience to have to call to see if the lady who does alterations is there or not...not really a dependable business when it comes to alterations. When I called the first time, the guy said that sometimes they close early...so basically they don't have set hours! My friend told me that she tried to also called to get her dress altered, and had to leave her name and number for this guy to call her back when the alteration lady is in. I just got my wedding dress taken in at Classic Cleaners. I came in on Tuesday, tried it on and had it pinned, and by Friday afternoon it was ready to pick up! Clean, pressed, and fits me like a glove! I cant even begin to explain how relieved I am that my dress finally fits me the way I want it to! It was only $30, I don't even want to know how much David's Bridal would have charged me, or how long I would have had to wait to pick it up! I really like that this dry cleaners is a family business, and it's right next to my house! They are very nice, super professional and they work very well together. It's the kind of place where you walk in and they greet you by first name. I will definitely be back next time I need an alteration or my fiancee needs something dry cleaned! The hours on the door indicated they are open until 6:30. My husband arrived at 5:55 on Thursday to pick up our daughter's first communion dress for Saturday. It was closed. I brought my pants to be shortened a couple of inches. When I got it back, I noticed the sewing was uneven at the bottom. I brought it back to them to see if they could fix it. I was not mad or upset. I talked to them nicely. However, the guy got angry and said "that's the best we can do. Go do it somewhere else". He then threw $5 in my face.
