Staring my walking journey I owned a pair of brooks but they feel worn out. My husband suggested I get another pair and we ended up at Classic City. All of the employees are very attentive and asked me how I was doing and what I was looking for. An awesome employee also took me to a computer that you step on and it basically gives you a report of how you walk. Based on this report you pick from a variety of shoes on the wall. You then go through the process of trying on each shoe and seeing how they feel in the color selections as well. The shoes are a little pricey, but are absolutely worth it in the long run if you value the quality of comfort. I will absolutely be going back for another pair! read more

Be aware of their store hours. You get what you pay for. These people know their stuff. They take their time with their customers, although my purchase was done within 15mins, I went in and went out soon as I was done, I had tons in my to-do list. They had a clearance rack full of shoes that could be worth checking out. They also have a loyalty reward program. I think the person who helped me was John. I can't say enough about the service I received during my visit a few days ago. The sweet lady that waited on me was exceptionally accommodating in every way. She took her time to make sure she understood what my foot issues were and fit me up with absolutely the most comfortable tennis shoes and slides I have ever had. On 8/22/2021 We Walked in to the Dillard's shoe department expecting an upscale experience and good customer experience at Buford Mall. The carpet was very dirty, the service was bad. The salesman was not welcoming and didn't make us feel like he wanted to help us. He offered no personal attention to us. He got the shoes out then put them on the floor and left to play with his computer. He didn't assist me in trying them on or ask how they felt. I left there and found Classic City Running in Buford. They took their time and gave my wife and I a very nice experience. They have sophisticated equipment that will measure your feet and offered me a pair of Hoka that felt like walking on marshmallows. My feet don't hurt anymore. I'd recommend them to anyone looking for comfortable shoes for a much better experience! My husband and I have decided that 2014 will include more exercise so thought it best to get new running shoes to make that happen. The owners of this store are super helpful -- from years of experience as runners and in the shoe biz as we come to find out. They have all the big brands of running shoes and socks. Great selection and they'll do a gait analysis to make sure you get the right shoe. We wound up with Saucony Guides, but were able to try on several different brands (Mizuno, Brooks and Asics) to see which was most comfortable for us. We also got some great Feetures and Balega socks as well as some performance running shirts. They also carry other training gear (insoles, shorts, stinky shoe spray, headbands, running GPS watches, and all manner of supplements for serious runners.) Needless to say, if we don't get fit in 2014, it's our own fault! read more

Let me start by saying I do not *look* like a runner, but if you saw where I started and where I am now, it's quite a difference. I always feel self conscious going into a store like this because the first time I did (in another state) I felt they did not take me seriously with my questions and felt they were making fun of me which made me not want to try another. Classic City Running was *much* different, thankfully and I had the opposite experience. I do 5ks to keep active and have found that having properly fitted footwear makes a huge difference on my knees, fatigue, and ankles. I have gone here twice now. They have you stand on a computer thing that shows your pressure points, they ask you questions, then they determine where you need your cushion and what kind of shoes might work. The woman who helped me was patient and took time to let me try a whole bunch of shoes yesterday, and I found a great pair again. I also was able to find a pair for work, and I will prob go back and buy when my work shoes wear out as I am on my feet for 12 hour shifts. You cannot take advice from your friends and people online, because we all have different feet and different needs for our feet sow hat works for your bestie might be totally wrong for you. read more

The owner is the best! I was running in Lems shoes, and I had told the owner that my calves were bothering me a lot during my runs and he picked out a couple shoes for me to try on because he knew how picky I was. He said, "you are only going to like these few because these are the widest shoes we have." Haha. He knew of a few that I would like so I tried them and ended up sith the Saucony Kinvara 7s and they're my favorite shoes I've ever had! The customer service in this place is like no other. All the guys genuinely take the time to place you with the right shoe. They are so friendly too! Absolutely love this place. It is, by far, the best place around to buy running shoes. The staff is very knowledgeable and technical when it comes to the particulars of the shoes and what will work best for me and my goals. Beyond their knowledge, they have incredible customer service. They are so incredibly friendly. They take time to get to know you in order to make the right recommendations. I have purchased several pair of shoes from them. After the last pair that I purchased, I had a great conversation with one of their employees about a race that I am training for. (The Savannah Marathon) She took the time to make suggestions and recommendations about my training. (She had previously run that race.) Another time I went in to try a particular shoe. I didn't end up buying that shoe on that day, but a gentleman gave me incredible advice on a different race that I was running. (The Peachtree)(He had previously run that race.) All in all, this place rocks! They take time to make you feel like more than just a sale. If only every shopping experience was like this one. The team at Classic City is more than amazing. If running is a science, these guys are all PhDs. They were super knowledgeable and more than patient. I walked in and asked for running shoes, and the first class treatment began. Ralph and I had a discussion about my wants, needs and expectations for a shoe--(it was like therapy but without a co-pay.) Next, Ralph determined my specific foot type and proper size. Now, with feet as large of mine, I don't have many expectations for options when I'm buying shoes. That was not the case at Classic City. Ralph brought out about 10 different pairs, and had me to try them all on. More than that, I was encouraged to walk around the store, run around the store, hop on the treadmill, go outside and run on the sidewalk, for each shoe. (Best Buy wouldn't even let me change the channel on one of the TVs.) I'm actually more excited about running now, thanks to the team. Looks like I'll be coming back to Georgia for all my running shoe needs. You won't be disappointed if you follow my lead. read more

Visited this store for the first time with the intention of getting a gait analysis & to purchase a new pair of running shoes. I disclosed my running history, prior shoe use, and injuries to the sales person. I expected to get useful feedback /recommendations, and instead was met with a combination of condescension and disinterest. No offer of a gait analysis. My wife and I decided it was time for a new pair of running shoes and wanted to go somewhere that would do a gait analysis to ensure we got the right kind of shoes. We did a Google search and found Classic City Running. Ralph and Jimmy, the owners helped us and they did a great job. One took each of us and started out looking at our old running shoes, so remember to bring your old shoes. After looking at the wear patterns, they had us put our old shoes on and get on the treadmill where they recorded us running for a short bit. They then showed us the video and slowed it down frame by frame to analyze our stride and foot strike. I was a neutral and my wife needed control for mild pronation. They then had us try out a variety of shoes in that group then run on the treadmill to find the fit and cushion combination that worked best. They allowed us to run in the showroom or even out on the sidewalk or road if that would help ensure the fit was right. Both of us tried light weight shoes, but went back and swapped them out for ones with more cushion. They were great about the whole exchange process and were committed to ensuring we got the right shoes and were happy with them. I highly recommend them to anyone looking for shoes or running apparel. read more
