Seat Repair. Customer service & communication rate 0 stars. On May 29th, took my truck by to have the front Katzkin seat covers replaced. Ray took pictures & a check for 1/2 of the cost of the repair. He said it would take a week to get the cover in and his secretary would call to schedule the installation. 4 weeks later, after having no one call, I stopped in to check on the progress. Ray did not remember the 5/29 conversation until he found the photos on his phone. Then, he said that the covers had been sent to his San Antonio store and they would ship them to Abilene. He scheduled 8:00 am 7/07 as the install date. This morning, I took the truck back to classic auto to have the covers installed. Never saw Ray but the secretary was there. She said she did not have any record of an install scheduled but that was not uncommon. At noon, I stopped back by to check on the truck. Secretary said that the installer was out for the week and she could schedule me for next week (8 weeks after this saga begin) or Ray said they could refund my deposit. I requested the refund & received a check before I left. In the 7 weeks that have passed, I never received a phone call. I called their listed number and it is no longer active. I do not believe the cover was ever ordered, I doubt everything I was told from the store in San Antonio to the installer being out for the week. I do believe they have installed seat covers as they were referred by someone that had work done. For whatever reason, my business was not a priority for Classic Auto Restyling and I doubt yours will be either. read more

If zero was an option they would get it was quoted 2 weeks and here we are over 8 months later and the job still isnt done its just one thing after another he always had a reason it wasnt finished and it was never his fault asked him to color match my interior to my paint he used the wrong color never finished my embroidery or my emblems this is a horrible place need to be closed down. read more

Got an estimate from this place to re-upholster a split bench truck seat. Hope it doesn't reflect all their prices. Quoted me 40% more than it would to buy the exact same product new. What a rip-off. I could drive to Dallas in my fuel hogging diesel pickup and have a reputable shop to the work and it would still be cheaper. read more

Too-notch customer service! Fast, honest, and reliable. We had duct-tape covering the tears in the leather end these guys made our seat look new again plus repaired some other small tears elsewhere. Took my 2008 Acura TL in for repair on one of the leather seats. They were able to match the color and style of the leather perfectly. For no additional charge, they also added padding to the other seat to help form it back to it's original look and fixed the power seats which were really noisy. Now they are as quiet as new. They did a great job and went above and beyond what was expected. I will definitely be back. read more

With one employee walking around the garage with a lit cigarette I felt so uncomfortable as if there isn't enough gas and oil to light the whole place up. They took two days to "look" at my car and then had parts pulled apart on my car when they couldn't answer what they were fixing on the car. Their was no ropes closing off the oil pit and I've never gotten a worse response to asking for one of my possessions back (aka my car!) and when I asked they said "sure have this shit." If you are overwhelmed with workload I understand I was just looking for communication on how long they'd hold onto my car, what they were fixing, and what the diagnostic was. They don't like working on newer cars because of turbos so you're better off elsewhere. But if you're into potential fires this place will suit your needs.

No discussion of what was done, what was checked, or what could be wrong with my car. I called and asked what was done, he asked what the name was under, put me on hold, then came back and said, "ma'am that vehicle was picked up".. I said I know, we just got home with it and I would like to know what was done and what's wrong with it. He said they didn't find anything.. if nothing is wrong, then why does my car have 1) a rough start 2) vibrates in idle and reverse 3) it shakes and acts like it wants to die 4) it died on my husband in PARK in the DRIVEWAY this morning. He said nothing was said to them about any of that. So I asked what they do in a diagnostics check. He said it depends on. I asked on what? "Ma'am it depends on the vehicle". I asked if was hooked up to machine or scanner or what's done... music started playing. He put me on HOLD. Without telling me. I waited SEVERAL minutes without anyone picking the phone back up, so I hung up and called back. I said that was "NOT COOL!" You put me on hold without saying a word and you didn't even come back. "Ma'am, I have 5 people here waiting. I'll call you back when I have time".. I said no.. that's rude! He was talking to me first and I want to know what's wrong with my car because nothing was said when my husband showed up. He was handed the keys and told to have a good day! He said plenty was said. So I asked l... again... what diagnostic was ran, was anything found because I need my car fixed. He said nothing was found that he told my husband he can try to change out the motor mounts (we ordered them the other day with transmission mounts also and they came in today), so something must've been said for him to tell my husband to try what he already had intentions of doing. I asked how a diagnostic can be ran and nothing show, when my car obviously SHOWS signs. They should've noticed when they drove my car to move it. "Ma'am, I'm hanging up. Don't call here again and don't bring your vehicle here anymore, we won't work on it".. I asked his name.. "My name is Shawn and I'm the owner and I'm telling you not to come back here again." I asked "WHY?!" I just wanted to know what was done. We took it for a diagnostics. "And we didn't charge you for that ma'am. Don't call back. Don't bring your vehicle back." .. And here I am. Writing a review to let EVERYONE know how rude and unprofessional "Shawn" and Gary's Automotive is! If there was a choice of "0" stars, I would've picked that, but I had to pick the "1" star. We have taken our vehicles there before with no problem, but not anymore. Not after today. VERY RUDE!! VERY UNPROFESSIONAL!!! ("Shawn Grisham" is the owner of "Gary's"). Go somewhere else. Don't waste your time or money on a place that's unprofessional!! *Adding that my husband said that Shawn cut him off while he was trying to tell him what was wrong with my car, to talk to another customer about a $4,500 transmission job... you don't do that! You don't just cut people off and turn to the next.

Katzkin Buyers Beware I never want to leave bad reviews however, I have never been so disappointed of the quality of an install in my life. Let me say Katzkin needs to rethink ever using Classic Auto Restyling in Abilene. Katzkin quality is awesome. Classic's install was PATHETIC at best. I have a single cab pickup which usually takes between 2-5 hours at a reputable installer. They kept my truck for FIVE days. Stripped bolts, gouged plastic trim pieces, missing clips, mismatched screws, incorrect installation in multiple places, zip ties and wire trying to hold pieces together, shorted out seat control module, blown fuses, horrible, horrible, horrible. They had my truck over the weekend, so THREE business days to make everything right and correct the wrongs. DID NOT happen. I filed a formal complaint with Katzkin and refused to let Classic Auto Restyling to ever touch my truck again. It cost me over $150.00 additional (just in parts) out of my own pocket on top of the $1700.00 original cost to replace the broken, gouged and stripped parts. I had Shane Wilson in Lampasas repair the damage and he was phenomenal!!!!!!! If you want Katzkin seat covers, request Shane Wilson in Lampasas. He has been installing Katzkin covers for 25 years and is outstanding!!! read more

I took my 2003 Tahoe to Classic Auto Restyling to have the front leather seats reupholstered and a new headliner. They did an outstanding job and very fast. I have heated seats and they discovered that the heating pad was burnt on the driver's seat. They had the replacement pad in stock so I didn't have to wait for it to be ordered. I took my car in on Friday and picked it up on Monday. I highly recommend Classic Auto Restyling in Abilene. Beautiful job!! read more

Took my daughters Ford Focus in to have the broken sunroof replaced. First, this is the only place in Abilene that we could find to do the repair and after the excellent customer service and awesome job they did at Classic Auto Restyling, I am glad that we took the car there for the repair. I went to Classic Auto Restyling to ask if they would repair an original space tire cover that came with my SUV. The covers thread has weather damage and dry rotted. After inspecting the wheel cover and finding additional damage the manager suggested making a custom replacement. I cannot be more satisfied. The cover fits perfect and the craftsmanship is second to none. I recommend this auto shop for all your leather repair. read more

They immediately provided the lowest cost bid, took the car in on a Friday afternoon and by Saturday afternoon it was ready. They did a great job, very quickly, and for a reasonable price. Great auto work! They did such a great job repairing the ripped leather driver seat and armrest on my 2003 Tahoe. He replaced the heating elements in my seat as well. We are from Colorado City and headed to Abilene when our sunroof shattered in our GMC Yukon. We called Classic Auto Restyling and they got us in right away and fixed our sunroof in such a timely manner. Everyone was friendly to us and our dog! Definitely recommend them and we will be going back for yearly maintenance. read more
