Came for a friend's birthday, and it was a really great experience especially with Covid concerns. Super clean, nicely spaced, and a fun time! The staff is loads of fun and nice. Great instruction on the games and safety. Lots of sanitizer out and they work hard keeping everything wiped and cleaned! A nice option for some fun! They are a Class Axe! read more

We went here for a team-building activity on a Tuesday afternoon. For the first 2 hours, we had the whole place to ourself which was awesome. I could see this being really frustrating on a busy night as I think there were only 3 actual ranges? There was a group of about 9 of us. Our instructor, Jimmy Hendraxe was very informative and helpful throughout the whole process. One of my co-workers actually threw an axe that got launched into the ceiling when trying to perform a trick-shot and while stunned, likely irritated and probably a bit worried for liability reasons, the staff took care of it quickly and continued on with our game. We also did the plate throwing afterwards which was actually much harder then I was expecting. I would definitely go back again, but I do think I would want to plan it around an irregular time. Lastly, it was hard for me to find, I drove around in a circle for a bit after the GPS said I had arrived. read more

Class Axe Throwing & Bar - Axe Throwing Near Me - Denver, Colorado

Came here from a groupon (as of posting right now they still have it on groupons website so make sure to scoop it up!) and we didn't know what we were really walking into but it was overall fun. The signs out front were hard to find and it was a weird place to park. Once we got inside we didn't have much direction on what to do but once we figured things out and got rolling it was pretty fun! They had an open axe throwing session so we could practice and then fun games to play while trying to perfect your throw! Overall great time and i'd love to go back. read more

I found Class Axe Throwing through Groupon and went as a group of three people. The facility staff paired us up with another group of five and we went to our station after filling out some waiver forms (which can be done online, ahead of time). On a Friday at 4pm, the place was full (although not uncomfortably packed) as there were two other group stations there that were both full of people. The first 30 minutes of the experience involves a safety lesson, but really, the safety part of everything is pretty brief and this time is a way to become familiar with the axe and learn to throw properly. No experience necessary! After that, the lights go out and they turn on fun colored lights and the games begin! The facilitator made us all count 1-2-1-2-1.. to pair us off, which meant that our group of three was split up (as was the other parties members) to make two even teams of four. Our two teams then competed in a few games using the board as a way to score points (for example, the bullseye is worth 6 points, the rings are varied points, etc.). The games were light in competition and provided a nice structure to the entire experience. Really made the time fly by! The facilitator had fun with it all, which was really appreciated. She truly made the experience more than what we expected it to be. She had everyone write down their "axe" names on a name badge and come up with our axe-related team name (Bad Axer, Ol' Battle Axe, Great Axe-ample, for example). She made jokes and kept everything really fun and lighthearted. She was great with giving little tips to throwers in between throws to help them improve. She did leave our group a few times to help sell beer at the beer station, but we were still able to throw (following the safety rules on our own) and practice in between games until she returned. And yes, they sell beer on site, but no wine as of yet (although, if they read this - consider selling wine or hard cider for non-beer drinkers). :) Going into this adventure, I wasn't sure what to expect, but we had an awesome time and would definitely go back. It's a great activity to do with a group, with out-of-towners, or just on a cold, Colorado day! Location/Parking: Class Axe is located in an industrial-type area, near (at the time of writing this) a Halloween haunted house-type place. I think they may actually share the same building because the hallway to the restrooms seemed to demonstrate that they were connected. Parking was not clearly identified, but there were options available. Class Axe is also not far from The Source hotel, which has excellent food and drink options! read more

My friend wanted to go axe throwing and suggested another establishment but me being a deal seeker found Class Axe on Groupon. We planned on going axe throwing for a week, but made reservations the morning of, which I felt was super lucky. The space is super cute and shares the building with its other business (a haunted house). Upon checking into our reservation, we were told to wait a few more minutes for others in our reservation block. I can't remember the lady's name who gave directions on how to throw an axe and explained safety, etc, but she was awesome! Her personality shows that she loves working here and she kept us engaged during the games and competitions. The bar had a list of beers of about 12. Unfortunately for me, they sold out of the Vanilla Bean Stout during the previous reservation, but I was able to get an Apricot Blonde. I loved this place so much that I am coming back next weekend with a girlfriend to celebrate her birthday. read more

We decided at the last minute to try axe throwing, this place was super convenient with daytime slots same day! They served a smaller selection of bottled sodas and candy bars but they will be installing a bar soon! We had a great time, our instructor Erin was super cool and helped us with great pointers on how to throw. We were a group of three and so were partnered with another couple. The games we played were fun, I really enjoyed the free throwing time. Overall it was a great experience and once they get the bar installed and open it's going to be an awesome hang out spot :) read more

Fun night, and really enjoyed the game that was setup for us. The layout of the facility was nice, and I did feel safe from other guests. I would have liked it if the staff had checked with us as to how much interaction we were interested in having. This was our second date and the Captain was in our area constantly. He would say "okay I'll leave you to it", and then be back a minute later. It was a bit much. Unfortunately, there was no cleaning of the axe handles between the Captain demoing a throw and giving it back to us. He also was not wearing gloves. I had fun throwing, and appreciated the use of the sharper axes, but a little less "help" would have been great! An initial "here's how to throw, let me know if you need some variations later" would have been awesome. read more

This was my husband and my second time here & we decided to bring our girls for Father's Day. Kyle (Axezilla) was absolutely amazing & took the time to really teach the girls in relaxed & positive way. He made the games fun & we had a blast. We look forward to going back. read more

We showed up on time for our 2 o'clock reservation today on March 24. No one was there. We waited for 20 minutes, calling and no one was picking up. Eventually someone answered from another location. Telling us the person that was supposed to be helping us was "on their way". The lady we talked to on the phone was also very rude and unhelpful. I would definitely look somewhere else if you guys want to do this activity. read more

This was an interesting experience; you park on the street in front of this huge warehouse-looking location. You walk in and it's kind of awkward at first. The actual axe throwing was pretty fun. Just know what to expect before you walk in and I bet you'll have a great time. read more

This was my first time Axe throwing and we had a blast! Austin, our instructor, was friendly and helped us have a great time. My boyfriend and I were grouped with a husband and wife and their son and we all opted to be in mixed teams and this was fun and helped us become comfortable and enjoy the experience. Friendly competition. This would be a great idea as a date, birthday party, bachelorette or bachelor party or just something fun to to do. So grab some friends and or family and go check it out! You will not be disappointed! read more

What a fun night!!! Highly recommend as a safe way to have fun during COVID. We had a windy cold night but the heat lamps, fire pit, warming hut and whiskey cider kept us comfortable. Kyle made the night extra enjoyable. We will visit again read more

My company booked Class Axe for a work event and it was a lot of fun! I've never been axe throwing before so I was a little apprehensive at first but I think once you get the movement down anyone can do it! They have a small bar with beers and canned cocktails. The staff were really nice and super helpful and involved the entire time. It was nice that we weren't just using targets but there were throwing games as well! read more

Awesome time!!! Went here for my first axe-throwing experience. The whole environment feels cool and laid-back and everyone was super friendly. I found Class Axe Throwing on Groupon and booked for a group of 6. We had so much fun! Austin started by showing us the proper way of throwing the axes and broke us into teams. We played some games competing against each other and then did a tournament to see who was the best. Austin did a great job and we all had a blast! We'd definitely do it again!! read more

Updating my review because the morning after I visited, my coach trash-talked me on social media. Completely unprofessional and uncool. I traded my outstanding Groupons in for other services. I'll take my throwing elsewhere. Original post: I've thrown axes for over a year now and was excited to branch out to some of the newer places. Unfortunately, this one didn't quite live up to the hype. Pros: * things to do while waiting (plate smashing, bar games, TVs playing YouTube videos of cute animals, etc. * got to throw/try an axe gang (in addition to the estwings I'm already familiar with). Nice axe. * fun shirts * cowbell for bullseyes * coach had an agenda with fun games, which is good, since you'll be throwing against strangers (see below) * dedicated "bartender" so you didn't have to wait for one of the coaches to grab you a drink * drink selection included hard seltzers & ciders; great if you're GF Cons: * they don't have indoor plumbing! Bathrooms are outdoors, portapotties in the parking lot next door. It's February. It's cold. You sell alcohol that makes me need to pee more. No thank you! * parking sucks. Neighborhood is pretty industrial, roads/shoulders are full of potholes and there is no obvious lot to park in, especially when the haunted house is open (again, it's February!) We ended up parking several blocks away, on street spot in a more questionable neighborhood. Car was fine though. * communal axe throwing means you're splitting the lane with up to 12 people. This means less axe-throwing per person. Upside of this is the games can be fun, but if you're an introvert just looking to practice or a couple just looking to throw against each other, this setup probably isn't going to work for you. Also, when you compare prices across the various options in the area, you get less throws for your $ this way (because your time is shared with others) * lanes & setup are different than other watl facilities so if you've thrown before, there may be a learning curve. They haven't brought in cottonwood yet and their templates & scoring rules are different from those used in watl leagues elsewhere. I'll likely give them another try, probably on a weekday or weekend daytime when they're slower. I likely won't be back on a weekend evening though. I'll also likelynpee before I go and not drink while I'm there. read more

Made reservations online and went on a Friday afternoon. Erin was our instructor and was awesome. The best part of this place is they have a ton of different games you can play with the axe throwing. We had a blast. Would definitely return. read more

Big fun. We discovered axe throwing a little over a year ago. Now we look for it in every new city we visit. This place was great. Our group host was fun and definitely showed us a good time. I got a Groupon so that's how we picked this venue. It didn't disappoint. They have a bar inside too. read more

Amazing experience! I highly recommend it for team building or company celebrations. My company rewarded us with a reservation after winning a Hackathon event. We could have gone bowling or done an escape room, but we heard about this place and wanted to do something newer / more unique. We had an absolute blast, and learned a lot about the techniques from our fantastic instructor--who was also very entertaining and patient with our growing technique. read more

This place was super fun. Did the ace throwing and plate breaking game "very satisfying". My future axe wife showed us a bunch of games and trick shots with the axes that was awesome. Great selection of beers too! read more

I've been to several axe throwing places in several different states and unfortunately, this has been my least enjoyable experience. We threw axes for an hour, and it was really more of a class than just throwing for fun. The employees were good at axe throwing(obviously), but they were constantly interjecting to try and teach members of our group what we were doing wrong. I do like learning how to do it better, but I wish the employees would have asked before antagonizing us and giving us instructions. Additionally, The music was very quiet and there was only one other group there so the environment was a bit awkward. There are so many axe throwing places in Denver, I suggest finding one with a more welcoming and fun environment! read more

Class Axe Throwing & Bar - Axe Throwing Near Me - Denver, Colorado

This is the most unorganized establishment I have ever been to. We showed up 30 min prior to our reservation to do waivers and practice, they shuffled us around three lanes before landing the two of us on a lane it a group of 9 others, mInd you these lanes are hardly big enough for a group of 5. Everything was blamed on a manager, which if there was one there you would never know. Ended up leaving with out it even throwing one axe...save your money and drink wif throw an axe at a stump in your backyard. 0/10 would not recommend to anybody. Thanks for the waste of an hour drive, Class Axe! read more

I gifted my family this for Christmas last year and it was awesome! HOWEVER The experience was nothing like I remember...The host was awful seemed stoned out of his mind. We did not select "axe" names I never even learned his name, when he did speak it was very mumbly so no one understood exactly what we were doing or how to play the game, and the overall worst part he did not go over safety precautions someone in our group even hurt themselves. When i was here before it was nice to know that the host cared for you and would tell you not to throw an axe when someone is grabbing theirs or do not hand to others. We paid almost $300 to be there and it was everything but exciting and eventful. I will say the lady working the drinks and checking people in was nice and took a great group photo of us at the end. read more

Bear was awesome! He was our axe-pert and we really enjoyed him. He was funny and knowledgeable....can't wait to go back!
