I was out in Denver for work, and we went here for a team building event. Checking in and signing the waiver was a breeze. For anyone who wanted some alki, that was easy to pick up and pay. The staff handled our training really well amongst three tables with over 20 of us. The instruction was clear and concise to keep us from hacking off a digit, cutting ourselves, or causing serious injury. The point was to exercise caution with throwing and retrieving our axes. I think we took up eight throwing lanes, and it sounded like we all had fun. Our group played an easy game like darts where we had to score 50, and anything over brought us down to 35. It was fun, intense at some points when we got close to winning, and overall pretty awesome to get the feel of throwing axes. At the end, we learned some trick shots with how to attach two axes together and throw them, throw dual wielding axes with one in each hand (I landed mine woo hoo!), and underhanded which I had no interest in trying, All in all, I had a great time, and I believe I can speak for the group that we did too. I'd definitely like to try a place like this in California. Kudos to the staff for making it a fun day. read more

2022 has been an exciting year for me because I got out of my comfort zone and tried something I had never done before. And axe throwing is one of them. Tonight, I had chance to come to this place with friends and got to kick some axe like some badaxe woman!! We had a reservation at 7:45pm for 2-hour window to kick each other's axe. I completely thought that I'd embarrass myself by being pathetic at it but I actually did quite well to my surprise. Alex (our instructor and coach) was a great guy. With his sense of humor, he made us laugh through the explanation/coaching before our session. Once one party in the same section had left he allowed us to use the whole 4 lanes (do you say lanes??) as we were a big group. I don't know if I'm correct on this analysis but If you are good at playing darts, you MIGHT be good at this, too; just think of the axe as a giant dart and throw it at the target!! (I had to admit; if it's your first time, it might not be as easy as it sounds. Just trust the process; you'll get better gradually.) Having a party at an ordinary restaurant/bar with friends might be fun but if you are looking for an untraditional way to have fun with them then why not go to a place like this? In my opinion, it's a bit more healthy way to do it. One night of an axe throwing will definitely create a lasting memories for all of you. At this place that is quite spacious, clean, with great staff, there is no way you'll not have fun! P.S. Alex was kind. Looking for something fun to do in Denver and we ended up walking into Bad Axe Throwing. This was my first experience and I was nervous but had always wanted to try! I was very impressed by the welcoming atmosphere and helpfulness we experienced with Ryan. He went over all the safety rules and then proceeded to give us advice on our form. Once we got the hang of it, he encouraged us to play for points (super fun!) and throughout our time Ryan checked in on us and made sure we were okay and comfortable with what we were doing. This is the nicest axe throwing space in town. Some of the others are like trashy spray painted warehouses with chain link fences and no amenities. This facility is really thoughtfully laid out and is well kept with nice seating, drinks and no chain link fences. The safety instruction we got was both educational and spunky. They provide a little cheat sheet of game ideas and your reservation is like two hours or something. It's neither too short to where you feel you didnt get your money's worth and also not too long where you're like, getting bored. This is a great place to have a date or to go with friend that you always do the same things with. Big fan. read more

How many times have you experienced indifference when you unexpectedly had to change an appointment? You must plead to get a refund or embarrassingly have to ask for a new time and date? Not here, not at Bad Axe! They ooze heart. I didn't get a refund--I didn't deserve one, nor expect one. My notice was too short. Yet they accommodated a new date and time without my requesting it. More importantly, with kindness! How refreshing!! How rare! I can assure you this company has zero "Bad Axes"! I can't wait to go throw. I'm sure I will be a mediocre thrower as they have certainly quelled much of the frustration that I might have used to give some umph to my throw! Go throw with them--but BYOF. We called this location to schedule 4 people for axe throwing for 4pm on Saturday. The apparently 'Canadian answering service-located outside of the US' told us we didn't need to make a reservation- there was only one reservation- that we could just walk in. We asked are you sure? We can make a reservation. And she said no it wasn't necessary. When we arrived we were told they were booked full and we needed a reservation. We told them about our interaction with their answering service and the employee stated he was aware they give out false information but there isn't anything they can do about it. Whatttt? read more

Nope. Didn't pass the vibe test. I felt like we were being treated like children instead of customers. The person leading the instructions needs to learn how to treat customers. I am about as easygoing as it gets. Her attitude was rude and hostile. We had a large group and honestly it was such a turnoff that I left in about 15 minutes.
