Traveltown Texas - We did buy Hotub steps to help the dogs getting in the trailer.

Tom walked us through all the pros and cons and then let us look. We chose to buy one of the suggested trailers. Tom has been amazing enough to answer text message when we had questions (thank you Tom). I would feel safe going back to upgrade the trailer when we get a bigger suv.

My husband and I were first time RV buyers and visited MANY RV dealers. Although everyone of them…read morehad very nice sales persons, they were just that...."sales" persons. Johnny Hernandez at Traveltown Texas in Helotes never made us feel like we were obligated to purchase anything right there and then. He didn't ask us for contact information or annoyingly call us back everyday asking "you still interested?" but rather gave us his personal cell and told us to call him whenever we felt ready. What I appreciated most was he let us see EVERY RV we inquired about without hesitation. Other RV dealer salesmen would say something to the effect of "sure we can look at it but it's $5,000 or $10,000 more," which always rubbed my husband and I the wrong way since we never asked for the price. We ended up purchasing a R-Pod with Johnny because we loved the layout and because he didn't try to sugar coat anything and reel us in with the usual "buy now while we have a sales price". He was honest about the "true" discount and just very informative. It was like buying from an old friend. He gave us the pros and cons with everything. Being new RV owners we were fish out of water but he made us feel confident. When our running lights didn't work we came back to Traveltown and Johnny hooked us up immediately with his Service Mechanic - Nick. After a long number of tries we realized it was our actual truck's fuzes. Nick helped us all the way, which he didn't have to since it was not an issue with the RV/trailer itself but our vehicle. I know had we gone to a big box RV dealer we would have had to make an appointment and then turned away to figure it out on our own. Nick was extremely helpful. We love our RV and would tell anyone and everyone to purchase from Traveltown Texas in Helotes!

Subject: Trailer Damage Report - Negligence While In Your Care…read more Dear Outdoor Living RV Team, I am writing to express my profound dismay and frustration regarding the state in which my trailer was returned after being in your care. The damages inflicted on my trailer were completely preventable, and I am absolutely upset about this situation. I trusted you to take care of my trailer, but when I got it back, it was covered in mold and cost over $1,400 to fix. My insurance is charging a $500 deductible, which I feel you are responsible for paying. Timeline of Events: Tuesday, May 9, 2023 I dropped off my trailer at 8:00AM for it to be resealed and to get an inspection. I told Cory that the last time it rained, I noticed water on the floor of my RV but didn't know where the leak was coming from, and for him to please check all the sealed joints. He agreed and quoted me $300 for that job and $238 for the 28-Point-Inspection. He told me that morning that it might take up to 2 weeks before he could look at it, at which point I asked to take it back home and bring it back closer to when they would be able to look at it. His response no, that he preferred to have it on the lot in case he had time to look at it sooner. Wednesday, May 10, 2023 During that very day and night, we got a ton of rain and wind, so, knowing my trailer had leaks somewhere, I texted Cory to see if my trailer was covered and if not, if the water leaks were taken care of. I was unable to reach Cory by text, so after calling quite a few times, I finally got hold of Cory who said he would take care of it. I offered at the time to go check on my trailer myself, and to dry it up if need be, but again, Cory said no, he would take care of it. What Cory ended up doing was putting a tarp over my trailer WITHOUT LOOKING AT ALL to see if water had leaked into my trailer. It was there to have leaks fixed, of course water got in. But no, instead, it was left there to rot for two more weeks causing a ton of mold damage (see photos). Two Weeks Later... I eventually get a call from Cory about 2 weeks or so after that initial date. I was excited, I thought my camper was ready to get back on the road, all fixed up and ready to go. But no, I was told to come look at the damage that Cory's carelessness caused, and to call my insurance to have it fixed. The insurance asked me for an estimate, which I tried getting from Cory, but he completely stopped responding to me. I found someone else who was responsible and professional, got my estimate and was able to get my trailer fixed. These damages caused me a lot of trouble and money. It's hard to believe a company like yours could treat a customer's property this way and then not try to rectify the situation. I'm really disappointed with Outdoor Living RV, and I wrote them this letter asking for some compensation and still did not heard from them. So I do NOT RECOMMEND this place ever!

Two vehicles you can think about: Newmar Dutch Star - all you ever wanted in a motor coach. Literally. My wife was outraged with the fact it didn't have a fireplace. The salesman said "the floor is heated." "Problem" solved, ha ha. By the way, the salesman wasn't doing anything. He didn't have to. I sat down in the recliner and had no desire to move. That vehicle is nicer than most people's homes, which it should be for the significant price. Then there's the Grand Design 380FL. The roof - the Blue Compass salesperson let us hit a sample of the roof with a hammer. It did no damage. It has a lifetime warranty on an RV roof. Let that sink in. It's a great, great vehicle with tons of space and a marvelous front living room. It costs - about as much as you'd expect. A really nice 5th wheel. My wife wanted it but getting a truck for it would cost me almost as much as the 5th wheel. This is not a major RV show - the Florida SuperSale is going on this week & I'm sure the Austin show is coming soon. It is good enough and I dont have to go far to see premium vehicles.
