This place is all right, the food is decent for bar food with some pretty good choices on the menu. It's always pretty busy so it's relatively noisy and you could have a wait. But it's fun and of course, beer yes they have beer. Why not stop in, get a cold one and relax, kick back and enjoy. It's nothing to write home about but worth stopping for a beer and whatever, nothing on the menu really stands out but has a good variety and the choices are okay. I stopped in on a regular, and I'm going to give it four stars. Seems a little generous but I've yet to be disappointed and I always seem to have a good time. read more

We eat here a lot; they have a decent menu and switch it up with specials and seasonal offerings. We really like the atmosphere, and the service has always been good, even when they are busy. However yesterday we ordered a bourbon "on the rocks", and ended up with an extra $2.50 charge on our tab for the ice!! That might've been reasonable had it been a special ball of ice or something, but this was just normal ice just like in a glass of water or a pop. We asked the waitress why, and she said it was because the drink was a larger pour with the ice. WHAT!?! Uh, no- nobody pours you more ounces of bourbon just because they're putting ice in the glass...that's not a thing. I don't find that reasoning to be believable. We like the Tap, and we will keep coming, but 'buyer-beware' order your bourbon neat or they'll ding you for common ice cubes. read more

It's a great spot. We go here all the time. Everything on the menu is awesome. Yet to have a bad meal, drink, or service in the 10+ years I've been going here. My favs are the fish sandwich, fish wishes (yes they are different than the fish sandwich but equally delicious), and the gyro. Mac n cheese is on point too. Don't forget the Cajun fries. The rotating tap is always nice to complement their excellent tap list. The service is always friendly and attentive. Check it out! read more

Hole in the wall. Quite literally a great dive bar found off the beaten path. It's in a strip mall for one, but when you enter, the atmosphere is jumping and drinks are flowing. Ordered the Madison burger with well done fries. Excellently cooked medium and the toasted bun was a nice touch. I would definitely order this again with a beer. I love the staff and have only gone in for a snack and a couple of cocktails a few times. That being said, the martini prices ($14 each) and the mule prices ($12 each) are just way too much money. I believe the spanish coffees were overpriced too, but definitely cute. I tried fries - very mediocre at best - good side of ranch dressing (I couldn't eat the fries without something else). I've visited the sister restaurant in lake Orion, and this is phenomenal bar food. They have alcoholic slush machines that have rotating flavors, a great beer selection of craft and domestic, as well as a fun seasonal cocktail menu. My personal favs? The mussels. I have been looking for good muscles ever since we went to north peak brewing in traverse city this summer, and I found some! Delicious! We also got the fried mushrooms.. also, great! I recently visited this past Wednesday as I am new to the area and was impressed by the amazing service and friendly employees. The food wasn't my favorite, but it wasn't awful either. However, my experience took a negative turn towards the end of the night. The owner started loudly yelling at a customer seated at a table shortly after he had sat down.(Not sure what spiked the issue) Her behavior was extremely unprofessional and disruptive, and it made the atmosphere uncomfortable for everyone around. It was very disappointing to witness, especially coming from the owner. Because of this, I won't be returning. It's a shame because everything else was great, but the owner's actions were a major letdown. The servers were absolutely amazing, though--super attentive and apologetic after we voiced our concern about the encounter. read more

I was headed to Holly and for once in my life running way ahead of schedule. No really, no lie, I was running ahead of schedule and not in a mad dash to get to my spot on time. A quick Yelp! search led me here hoping for a beer and a snack before dinner. Located in a strip mall, walking in was different than expected. I thought it would be a more modern place, but it was actually a very cozy country western/dive bar feel to it. I guess hanging out in downtown Clarkston I expected a tap room that was more hipster. As a fan of the dive bar experience this was a welcome surprise. For a tap room, i was a little disappointed in the beer selection. I get that craft beer is 79% IPAs and Stouts, 5% traditional blah beer (Buds, Millers, Labatt's etc] and if you're lucky the last 16% is unique beers you can only find sparingly in your area. While there was a wide number of beers, they were all very common to many restaurants in the area. Ordered chicken finger appetizers and they were fine. There was nothing really to get excited about. The staff was absolutely fantastic, really on point and attentive. While I wasn't blown away by my experience, I think this would be a fine place to come and grab a beer. The Tap has been a fixture here in Clarkston for the last 12-13 years since Duggan's Pub closed. The place is getting a little bit worn. The food has changed just slightly. The menu has added some fish options, few new Greek items as well as some pasta items. My friend and I ordered the sliders and an Italian sub. The Italian siub was my choice. When it came out. The bread was long enough to hand over both ends of the basket it was properly toasted and had an adequate amount of meat, cheese and vegetables. There is what seemed to be a quart of seasoned fries and a side of Italian dressing. It was quite good and reasonably priced. My friends sliders were equally good. 3 sliders with a 1/3" thick patty that overhung each bun, an equally ginormous helping of fries. I was told that the were perfect. All a d all, if you want a good meet for a reasonable price. The Clarkston Tap is the way to go, if you are in the area. read more

We went in Wednesday night just before midnight after a concert. First time. We sat at the bar top. We will definitely be back. Food was really good! Service was extremely attentive and friendly. I wish I would've caught the bartenders name. Very cool atmosphere. The Mac n cheese was a great portion with Jalapeños, bacon, tomato and a cut up grilled cheese on top! Clarkston Tap is the hangout spot for sure! I am new to the area; so I came here a Saturday night by myself and decided to go with this place because it was super close to my house. As I was walking in, I noticed the outside patio and it was full of people. The music was very loud as well; so if you're looking for a happy vibe this is the place to be. I decided to sit at the bar and order Chicken Strips. Let me tell you; the chicken strips were very juicy and tender, the best I've had in the area for sure! They gave me a little cup of ranch, and it was surprisingly enough for all my tenders. The ranch was a little runny for my taste, but not bad :) The waiters are SUPER busy, running back and forward. I can see how people may think there is slow service, but trust me they are working hard back there! if you're looking to get your drink ASAP; I recommend you just walk up to the bar. The staff is all very friendly, and attentive. I tried the Green Tea shots and they were fruity, sweet, and easy to pass. haha. Bring your friends here! I'm sure you'll all have a great time. As I see multiple complained about the same worker I had an issue with this last week is very frustrating that it hasn't been dealt with. She told us she was the manager but we were told she was just the shift manager... I'm not sure if there's difference but if there's someone higher above, she needs to be replaced. Took her forever just to get our orders... mind you we're literally standing at the bar so she was just flat out ignoring us. Overall, good bar food with good drink selection. Have driven by Clarkston Tap numerous times and kept telling myself I would stop in to check out the place. My wife and I stopped in on a Friday night to grab a drink. Neat local bar with an upbeat environment. It felt like a bar that belongs on a lake. Place was filled but service was awesome. All waitresses are looking out after one another. If you need a new drink any waitress will ask, there is almost no wait if something is needed. It is unique, and I like it. We checked out the menu and we were impressed with all the options. Went back the next afternoon (guest stopped by and we needed to grab lunch). We were impressed with the bloody mary and mimosa bar. We also both ordered pizza and it made us both sick. HOWEVER, this is an establishment called "clarkston tap" so they clearly are a bar so let's focus on their drinks. I came in to get some steak bites which I haven't had in a couple of years it's used to come with this awesome sauce that tasted great always made perfect and the garlic butter was to die for it was probably the best thing in the menu. Originally was going to get catering by On The Border and so glad I found out Tap did catering and had it done by these guys. Trays of chicken, beef, hard/soft shells, chips (absolutely delicious), guacamole, multiple salsas, rice, beans, queso...... everyone was raving about the food and a lot left over!! Just came here with my boyfriend. Ordered beer and the peppermint White Russian. My boyfriend drinks a lot of Bud Light and he said the draft beer tasted like it had a dirty tap. My peppermint white Russian was amazing. Shared a "large" works pizza. Was $19 and had only 8 slices. There was WAYYY to much cheese on it and the cheese was very stringy. It didn't even taste hot. Just warm. The crust was also very soggy and floppy. Not one of the three bartenders asked how the food tasted. Pizza was so mediocre. Go to Kruse's Deer Lake Inn 2 minutes away and pay $14 for an 8 slice pizza. It will taste a MILLION times better and your service will be a MILLION times better. Or get the large that has 12 slices and is the same price $19. Don't go here unless you want gross, overpriced pizza. read more

They overcharged for an item and when asked upon it she commented "sorry there is nothing we can do it's the system". She then proceeded to lie to me and tell me the menu says the price and I show her the menu and she responds "I don't need to look at that. I know what it is". Went here with a group of 4 on Sunday before a concert at DTE and was pleasantly surprised. Service was a little slow and we didn't really have one waitress - there were multiple people that served us but that's fine - seems like they just all help each other out. The food was DELISH. I ordered the Madison burger and it was probably one of the best burgers I've ever had. My friend and my boyfriend got the White Cheddar Mac & Cheese with Buffalo Bites, that was awesome too! My other friend ordered a wrap and she said that was really good too. The décor is cool and they have a really nice outdoor patio too. They have giant frozen margarita machines that were very tempting to try lol but I didn't. They played good music and seemed like there was a pretty chill crowd there.
