Dr. Julie Boyce is very thorough and wonderful. Takes the time to answer any questions or concerns that you might have. That office does have O.C.T., Fundus camera and Visual Field testing. Front desk and Technician Tiffanny is outgoing and sweet and ready to welcome you and answer any questions that you have before meeting with the doctor. Make sure you ask what promotion that they have going... they are usually good ones. read more

I visited Clarkson Eyecare in Clifton, OH about 1.5 years ago and had a positive experience. At that appointment I scheduled another annual exam a year out. When I showed up for the appointment the doors were closed and they were not open that day. No one called to reschedule my appointment when their office days/hours changed! When I called to reschedule, the next available appointment was 6 months away. I booked it and the scheduler told me that if any appointments became available they would let me know. I received no calls for openings in 6 months. Today I showed up for my appointment (after getting confirmation emails and text messages). When I arrived, the ladies at the front desk informed me that there were no doctors in the office today. I told them which doctor I was supposed to see and they notified me the doctor has not been with them for over a month. I received no notifications or rescheduling efforts. I am BEYOND frustrated and will no longer step foot into a Clarkson Eyecare center. read more

I've never gone into the Mariemont location and received decent customer service. Instead. you're made to feel like an inconvenience to them. I get the distinct impression that I'm bothering them by asking them to do their job. I brought my glasses into be straightened and she literally tossed me the glasses and said she couldn't fix them and they'll always be crooked. No offer for more help. Sorry about your luck. My family and I will not be back. read more

I gave 2 stars because the staff in the office saved it from a 1 star. Julie Evan's is great. She really listens and cares about the well being of your eyes. The office staff were a bit cold but not rude. The girl who took me in for the initial test was funny and easy to get Ali g with. Great staff. Billing on the other hand is ridiculous. I was told, in the office, that my medical and vision insurance would be billed because I had an eye exam that partly was covered under medical. My medical insurance was billed but my vision insurance never was. I contacted the billing number who told me to call my insurance. I called my insurance only to be told they hadn't billed them. I called the billing people back and told them to bill my vision insurance which they then admitted that they hadn't. They said they would submit it. To this day there was never a claim submitted to my vision insurance. I have a $10 copay for eye exams. I am still being told I owe $70. I will not be returning to Clarkson despite the amazing office staff. read more

The number they have linked to their call center to get ahold of the office re-directs to kettering health OBGYN. Ive tried to contact them multiple times to cancel a appointment and there is no other number to reach this location at. Its been like this for months. Will not be doing buisness with them in the future. read more

This is a follow-up to the review I left on 6-5-24. I received yet another bill from Clarkson Eyecare today, 6-15-24, for the bill I paid (but did not owe) on May 30th, 3024. This is after being assured on 6-5-24 that my account was paid in full. I do not recommend doing business with Clarkson Eyecare as they can not keep up with who owes what. read more

I made an online appt, received a confirmation email that states at the top 'Appointment confirmation', took time off work, showed up for my appt, and was told it was cancelled. There was no concern given for me taking time off work, having an email that says it was confirmed. Will never return to Clarkson after being a loyal customer to them for many years. read more

the front desk people one was eating chips while waiting on me. the other ignored me. filled out paperwork then ended up being there 2 plus hours. the chip eater shuffled me back to back room while wearing a Tupac jacket. The waiting room wasn't clean I took pics. Then I finally got eye exam and picked frames out. Was told a week or so. After 10 days I called they said not there yet. Calle after 2 weeks was told could take up to 2 or 3 weeks. Called at 2 and a half weeks and was told the frames I picked out were discontinued. This is the worse as they wanted me to gi back and pick out more . I cancelled . Never to return. read more

My eye felt strange when I left the office and the next day it was infected and swollen shut. When I returned and showed him what happened, he billed me for another appointment. I called about the bill and was treated rudely. Also, the prescription I was given for glasses was incorrect and I had to throw away the glasses I ordered. read more

UPDATE: Fake accountability. No response to my immediate (or subsequent) email following the response from owner below. Was able to speak to the district manager at my appointment today--she must be the reason accountability has declined to such a level--this catty Karen talked over me, didn't address any of my issues, and threatened me with a lack of social distance. Just wow. Previous review: 5 stars **The location used to be Thoma and Sutton Eyecare This office before changing hands used to be amazing at customer care. I called them and made my annual appointment on the 3rd, and I asked several specific questions about coverage on my insurance plan since they had changed hands since my last visit. After entering my complete insurance info, I was told that I was covered for only the eye exam, which I expected. They told me they would call right away if there were any issues (or cancellations, I am wearing my backup glasses which are awful). I heard nothing for two weeks. I even confirmed my appointment with their receptionist via text 48 hours prior. I just received a phone call from the office manager who let me know that my exam would NOT be covered and I would have to pay $95 (much more than average for my area) at my appointment tomorrow. The office manager admitted that it was the appointment-taker being confused about which networks they belong to. I told them that's a lot to afford on less than 24 hours of notice and asked if they would be willing to work with me, and it was rather rudely reiterated that I would be required to pay in full at the appointment. I wouldn't have had an issue at all if they could have worked with me, or even if I had been notified in a timely fashion. This was clearly a dropped ball and the patient is the one who pays the (literal and figurative) price at this office when something goes wrong on their end. I've been waiting for two weeks just to be told I'm disqualified 24 hours before my appointment. Unacceptable. read more

Wonderful and immediate help found bestest glasses with minimal time, Valerie was stupendous, spent 30 minutes, she found possible frames and brought them over, vastly decreasing time required, oh, I am incredibly picky and impatient, approaching 66 and having worn glasses since 5th grade. Then 3 weeks later we did same for sunglasses, all of that help repeated. We'll certainly be back, you should go. Dr. Thor read more

I walked into the store, expressing concern that I had problems. I saw tiny letters. The person helping me immediately told me I was condescending and reasonable. I was never once raised. My voice only expressed my concern. I don't know if she was in a bad mood, as this has never been her behavior in the past. When I brought it up with another employee, she immediately defended the behavior. Finally, the young lady I'm speaking about has always been short-tempered and did not go out of her way to support her customers. I felt demeaned and embarrassed. I emphasized that I was not rude, raised my voice, or disrespectful. I wish they were willing to show the cameras, but I asked, and they were not inclined to do so. I would encourage you to find someone else to go to. Finally, they only have one doctor in the facility, so the wait time is extremely long. I would recommend finding another place to meet your needs! read more

Over all I did have a unexpected experience found out I had cataract in my eyes so couldn't get contacts was in happy with that cooled down and moving forward....but that receptionist at the front desk that gives you your paperwork to fill out woooooooo my first impressions was to just leave her customer service skills is horrible no welcome no smile sooooooo freakn dry and this was just at 2pm today 4.2.24.mannnn if they don't talk to her and tell her it's ok to welcome they Will get comments like mine she is in welcoming to customers omg why is she at the beginning of your welcome .dry as hell and I mine that ...just fill out these 3,forms and that's all she say with a dry as hell voice and face I will never be back she needs to be the one to go get there coffee so she can't interact with no one read more

I had an appointment for 5:10 (or so I thought.) When I made the appt I even commented about the odd time but the lady didn't respond. My husband got caught in traffic so I packed up my kids and begged a neighbor to take them so I could make my appointment on time. I walked in at exactly 5:10 and the lady told me I'd have to reschedule because I was late and missed the grace period of 10 minutes. (although given that the time was 5:10 I was technically within that window.) Despite the fact that I get texted appointment reminders for my kids from them I did not get one for my appointment which would have cleared up the mis-communication of the appointment time to begin with. read more

They kept rescheduling my appt that I originally made in May. They did it FOUR TIMES. The last time they rescheduled me to July 9th.. I lost my cool afterwards and cancelled and then they sent me a text rescheduling me to July 10th.. I've heard they treat people with Medicaid like this and didn't believe it until I was treated this way. Will not ever go there and I will be telling my insurance company about this. I know the company reached out to make things right and look into it and I haven't had the time to respond back to them yet. I will once I can. Thank you. read more

Well, I contacted Cassie in response to her request. She sounded apologetic and concerned. Stated that area management would be in contact regarding my problem. It has been two weeks, and I have not heard a word. I am not surprised. read more

The customer service from the front staff was extremely poor. i never made it past them to get my eye exam because they were so rude.

This has been the most unpleasant inconvenient experience ever!!! I was not only humiliated in the office but felt bullied into getting the eye glasses I went with. I was told I don't like those or those are too big for your face about every pair I picked out I liked. I was also talked into going with a bi focal even though I had tried them before and couldn't wear them. I reiterated that I was starting a new job and spent every day looking at a computer and really needed my new glasses. When my glasses finally came in (I was told they got broke while being made) I was told if they didn't work for me that I could come back and get different ones. Well guess what they don't work. I cannot see the computer at all. Why? Because they didn't even put anything in their for me to be able to see the computer. Makes no sense when I told the doctor I needed them for that. Now it's been weeks and I'm struggling every day and still don't have glasses that work for me. To see the tv, drive, work nothing. I call today to tell them these aren't working and get hung up on. Call back and I'm told that I can get glasses for the computer but I will need to buy additional ones for driving. Also told it could take 3 weeks to get these. Mean while I'm barely able to work or function. There is a huge lack of empathy on their end. I would not recommend this company or return after this. I've never had to deal with anything like this before. UPDATE: I went in to get my glasses once they finally came and yet again they were incorrect. Just over here waiting to see read more

My first eye exam ever. I was lost and chose this place randomly because it was near my work. So glad I came into this place. The staff is SO nice and super helpful. I felt comfortable the entire time and very welcomed. Also, Julie Boyce was wonderful! The exam went quickly and I even got to sneak across the street to Sleepy Bee for breakfast. Thanks to the awesome staff for my first eye exam! read more

I went in for a quick glasses adjustment and was told it would be a few minute wait. Two patients were being helped and I was the only one in the waiting room. After the one patient left all the workers were talking and walking around and nobody bothered to help me. Then a girl walks in and she is there for an adjustment as well. She's barely sitting for two minutes and they take her over me. I ask when will I be taken next because I've been here for almost a half hour now and they said oh just right after that patient even though she had just walked in. Everyone's time is just as valuable and mine so I was so disrespected that they picked someone else after waited nearly a half hour. Don't go to this location unless you have a a lot of time to waste and you want everyone to be picked over you while you sit there patiently. It was absolutely ridiculous and I don't want anyone else to experience the same thing. read more

Professional and courteous. The team of Doctors and Associates worked well together to meet all my needs. Competitive pricing. Unbeatable personalized service. I highly recommend giving Clarkson Eyecare a visit for your eye needs! read more

My husband and I had a great experience with this Clarkson site. Each staff member was attentive and professional from the front desk through the optometrist. We were there in November, 2018. After years of paying top dollar at LensCrafters, I got insurance they would not accept so we switched. We were very pleased with the personal and efficient service. read more
