They did provide a Carfax report, which showed the vehicle was a corporate fleet car -- not the "owner's personal vehicle" as stated. That alone was concerning. The test drive was limited to a slow neighborhood loop until I insisted on evaluating the suspension, acceleration, and braking. Only then did the salesperson reluctantly allow a proper drive. Once inside, they accepted my offer quickly, but padded the "dealer service fee" (documentation fee) to an excessive $795 -- far above the typical $250-$350 quoted elsewhere. This fee is set by the dealer, not Virginia, and I should have walked out. Financing was worse. They only ran my application through Toyota Motor Credit, returning an 8.63% rate despite excellent credit. They did not shop for better rates. When I questioned the sudden increase to 8.77%, the finance manager dismissed my concern, claiming the difference "only amounts to $70 over the life of the loan." It was not what we agreed to, and only after pushing back did he revert it -- then announced he would not change anything else on the paperwork. It left me wondering what else was buried in the contract. I was also told I could either return to the dealership for my plates or pay $60-$80 to have them mailed. After being charged nearly $800 in dealer fees, this felt unreasonable. The most concerning part came afterward: the dealership never collected the rather large 2/3 cash down portion of the purchase intended to be paid from savings via check. When I called the dealership when realized, a manager admitted they should have collected it and instructed me to drive back -- a 2.5‑hour round trip. Only after mentioning inclement weather did she offer certified mail. My bank advised wiring the funds instead for security, but even that is risky if as they could just claim they did not receive it and it is essentially just like cash. The finance manager ultimately came to my home as the weather got worse so to pick up the deposit check. Even then, he refused to issue a receipt for the payment. He also refused to refund the $250 that the DMV paid the dealership after they incorrectly listed me as an uninsured motorist -- despite the fact that I had produced proof of insurance before driving the vehicle off the lot. This was extremely concerning and felt like yet another predatory practice. The entire experience left a sour aftertaste. Between the inflated fees, questionable financing practices, lack of transparency, refusal to correct errors, and logistical mistakes, I cannot recommend Warrenton Toyota.

Had it happened a day later, I would have thought that was little weird. Had it happened a week later, I wouldn't have thought anything of it but, it happened 2 minutes after leaving the shop. The receptionist was extremely rude and unprofessional. She showed no empathy for what had happened and made it seem like I was being ridiculous for asking them to work with us. The reason this is a 3-star review instead of a 1-star review is because the owner eventually stepped in and removed the receptionist from the process. He worked with us to make it right and they did a good job fixing the hood and the latch. Hopefully the receptionist is retrained and not enabled to treat other people like she treated me. It's completely unacceptable for an adult to behave like that.

Sharing my personal experience in hopes it's no one else's…read more Big daddy's- I had my car inspected previously.. even one that I knew wouldn't pass that we just bought and was going to get a "what I need to fix to inspect" list. A young man worked there. He was lovely & very helpful. Upon returning with the check list completed for the new vehicle my niece was greeted by a rude man who said the list wasn't completed. (We did the work and I knew it was done, I also have a family member who owns a shop- unfortunately they don't do inspections) That was her experience & I was surprised to hear she was treated this way but I won't speak on it much bc it wasn't my experience. Fast forward to my car needing inspected this year. I greeted a cheerful "Goodmorning I'm here for an inspection" and was returned with a dry "you all need to get out" (referring to my 3 young daughters).. no biggie. That was expected but that completely set the tone for my experience. I waited in the office with my daughters and watched as he helped the man behind me. I'm not one to "cry" (you'll understand the quotes shortly) about being treated differently as a woman. Anyways he failed me for a phone holder that I popped right off my dash and a broken stud on my tire. He stated several times he'll double check and make sure it's done correctly & I don't "just screw something on it". And even dismissed my "oh that shouldn't be hard to fix" with a lovely comment of "it won't be for this". I left and promptly went to the auto store and bought the whopping $8 worth of parts I needed to fix the issue. When I got home to fix the issue it wasn't broken I returned this morning to a long line and decided to walk in and see if there was a way to have my rejection sticker amended. (I'm not entitled just looking for a quick fix to an issue that could have been avoided) The lovely manager told me I could CRY to the police and he'd be happy to have them come down to the shop himself. I was pretty shocked as I walked in calmly and wasn't being rude & even stated that when I received such cold feedback. I clarified I was just trying to get a passing sticker as I paid yesterday for a rejection over (now technically) a phone holder I could have popped off and a lug nut I would have been happy to pay for. -which is a normal thing to be offered for a small issue as such. He told me to go somewhere else which was absolutely the plan anyways. And yes I lost my shit at the end when I walked out. He was an asshole and he deserved to hear it. Idk what my point of this post is besides venting. But this is absolutely NOT in sweet little Berryville fashion. No my opinion won't close a business. I don't expect it too. I'm not on here to argue. But I absolutely didn't deserve the treatment I received.

Went for a routine (synthetic) oil change. I also had minor car trouble, steering wheel shaking as I drove fast, and wanted to confirm the cause. Parked in lot and presented car keys at the front desk. I chose to wait in, maybe I should not. It took a long time because it was weekend and they had a lineup of customers and cars already in line. After close to 2 hours the synthetic oil change was done. Before that, repair man called me in to garage where my car was hoisted up, and he confirmed that nothing else is wrong with my car, but he peeled back tires and could see the inside was scratched up. Long story short, only tire rotation and 2 new front tires were needed. It was good to have clarification. Overall, a solid local-owned auto shop.

The following year, the same problem happened again. I was doubtful about it, I knew something not honest was happening but I still let them fix it, just to get it out of the way. Last week, I went to get my state inspection check again. The reason why I went to that place even though I'm not comfortable regarding honesty, but it usually takes about 1 hour for the service to finish. Anyway, coming back to the story, I changed my car wiper blades right before I went for inspection, however, they told me one of my wiper blades needs replacement, my tail light is not working again, and one of my tires needs replacement. You know what they did, someone pulled part of the blade off of the wiper, it looks like it broken. I can keep writing my experience, but to sum up, this place, Adam Auto Shop, is not an honest place for anyone to go. I always believe business quality and reputation is number 1, but this place doesn't think that.
