Dave was very kind and helpful on the phone and said that if I could get it to their shop they'd look at it first thing in the morning. We managed to limp the bus over to the shop. Dave was still there when we arrived (it was evening) and he was kind enough to give us a ride to our motel. Aaron had the bus fixed by noon the next day. We had another complication as we drove another 30 miles up the road, and Aaron arrived as quickly as he could and jumped through hoops to get us back on the road. After that last hiccup, we made it back to CT safe and sound and the bus drove wonderfully. I've never had such a pleasant experience with a mechanic shop. These folks know what they're doing and they care. Dave even called us after we left to wish us safe travels. The competence and the kindness were truly overwhelming. It's one of those experiences that makes you feel better about humanity.

I have an after market bumper to bumper warranty with a $100 deductible. Took vehicle in for an intermittent blower motor July 2019. They said it was resistor and replaced. Charged me $100. Fine. Picked vehicle up after hours and paid. Went 1/4 mile same problem. I was told Problem appeared intermittent which makes it difficult to diagnosis. I get that part. I asked about getting charged another $100. Was told if it was a different issue, YES. Apparenlty it is a different issue because it wasnt fixed the first time. Left vehicle again with note indicating above. Could not duplicate problem. Was told to drive it there when problem occured. AC wasnt blowing at all now or heat for that matter. Nothing. Took back today, Sept. 16. They went out of their way to look at it since the problem was happening at the moment. Was told it was blower motor. They did not have one in stock. I asked about being charged again. $100 please. Had a long discussion with Chuck and his boss. Said they were not going to eat the $100. Neither was I since it should have been fixed the first time. Got in vehicle to leave without having them repair it, AC was blowing great. Called Chucks boss over to witness. Was about to be charged $100 for a blower motor which was not the problem. I told him bringing vehicle in for repair several times is a nuisance, but paying $100 each time for a part that is not broken IS the problem. Said to make an appointment for them to dig into it further. Thats where we stand at the moment. Make your own judgement.

I left D&J a voicemail at 4:30 on a Friday night to get a second opinion. He called me back within 15 minutes and explained all of my options better than the other shop and the car insurance company combined. Then, on Monday, once I had seen the car and taken pictures, he gave me a $100 solution to what the other company wanted $3300 for (and should have seen in the first estimate) and said another piece they claimed needed to be fixed was structurally sound. He offered to work with me to get secondhand parts to fit within my budget if I chose to salvage the car or drop the insurance claim- and I never paid him a dime for his services! I wish I would have taken our car to D&J instead of going through insurance and the other company. They are honest, communicative and truly have the customer's best interests in mind!

I went the next day to get several belongings out of my vehicle. I spoke with Mike (owner) and asked him if my vehicle was totaled. (It was pretty close to being totaled). He laughed and said it was no where near being totaled, and it was only about 5,000 worth of damage. I used to work at a car dealership, I know how a body shop works. They don't want it to be totaled, no money in their pocket. I immediately called Bill's Auto Body and had my vehicle removed from Mike's and towed to Bill's. They did an estimate for 10,545.43. And it only needs to be 11,500 to be totaled. So YES, it was in fact very close to being totaled. Bill's were absolutely amazing to me!
