As a child, all I wore were Clarkes shoes - yes they were more expensive than those from the market or the cheaper shops, but my mum insisted we had decent shoes to last (and fair enough mine did - not my fault my feet didn't grow very fast!)...and I still remember the excellent quality and design of the products.
This doesn't mean Clarkes are old-fashioned though - they are trying to break the more fashionable market, and to some degree are certainly succeeding especially within the boots market, and fashionable work shoeshowever this isn't the case with standard shoes (which look like they were designed 50 years ago) and men don't exactly get the same choices that women receive.
Prices too can be astronomical when you consider the current climate, but you do have to bear in mind that quality does persist and sometimes its worth paying that little bit more. read more
