I'm sorry but I don't know what all those who gave this place 5 stars were smoking but stay away from here. My wife and I were on a long trip and were hungry. We read the reviews and since we like to support local businesses, decided to give it a try. We are currently praying that we don't get sick from the burger. The first impression is that this isn't the cleanest place in the world. Normally that would have been enough for us to just leave, but we wanted to see what the hype was about. We went to the counter to order and no one was there, a young man got out of a booth and came to take our order. His face hidden behind his hair, he didn't greet us or welcome us, he just said, what can I get you?" I ordered a bacon cheeseburger and my wife ordered a Philly cheesesteak sandwich. The cook poked her head out after we paid and said they didn't have anything to make the Philly. So my wife ordered the bacon cheeseburger. We sat and waited as what we can only assume were regular customers left. Then it was just us and the young man and his female companion sitting in booths. One customer walked behind the counter and chatted up the cook for a good 10 minutes, all the while we are waiting for our order. Finally I got up and walked to the counter as the customer left and the cook scurried back into the kitchen. The young man got up from his booth and asked me what I wanted to order. I had to tell him that I was still awaiting my order. He went back into the kitchen and brought out the plates that obviously had been ready and sitting there. The burgers were not tasty and they were slightly on the cold side from sitting around. The fries were inedible, lacking flavor. Even salt didn't help those greasy planks of old potato. This place really needs an overhaul. I shuddder to think of the cleanliness issues that may be lurking in the kitchen. This place may have been great in a time gone by, but today you should just pass on by. read more

Old school cafe/general store. Ordered cheeseburgers... delicious. Great meat! Double meat and single with fries and 2 drinks- $20. Young man took our order was very courteous. read more

We stopped here for gas and I was very pleasantly surprised to discover that there was a little frozen yogurt shop in the back! I cannot eat sugar, so I was very excited when the two employees at the counter told me 3 of the flavors were made with Stevia!! Not only that, but the taste of the froyo was very good quality. The two employees were very cheerful and friendly- One of them offered for me to try each flavor. The other talked to me quite a bit and made me feel very welcome. In addition to my excitement about the froyo shop, I was pleased by the variety of bottled drinks. There were 4 flavors of Powerade Zero and 5-6 flavors of Bai 5. The best thing about the Outpost is the breakfast burritos. You can get a little bit of everything here: jewelry, *fashion*, medication, and even rented movies! Much of the things in the part of the store that isn't food/drink is definitely pricier than what you can find elsewhere. Jewelry is of a nice quality, but is pretty expensive. The Charlie's Chicken in the back section offers froyo, chicken, and breakfast food. The froyo has a reputation of being bad (multiple people from different points in time have said it was spoiled when they went). The chicken is terrible (one look away from the heat lamps and shudders go through you). The breakfast food however, is delicious! My family will grab a burrito on our way out of town if we want a quick, filling, and reasonably priced munch on the weekends. They are pretty tasty and easily customizable. read more

Gift store meets gas station meets pharmacy meets diner meets craft store. It's one of those old time general stores from a time since past. My mom found some cute owl costume jewelry for me. I picked up some thread to make bracelets too. They have Shell gas and decently clean bathrooms. Place could use a bit of spiffying up, but for a road trip stop it has everything you need and some things you don't. read more

Musty tasting coffee and they don't make shakes anymore. They do have quite a selection of, well, everything. At one point it seems there was a pharmacy. The heat lamp fried chicken looked okay. read more
