need better employees. waited for 5-10 minutes to pay for my things as two employees were on their phone on facetime (one girl behind counter) and the other one was eating on his phone sitting at a table, as soon as i put my things away- went to my car and started pumping gas they decided to START helping customers and proceeded to point and laugh at me through window. disgusting behavior. i tried to call to talk to a manager when i was hung up on multiple times. i remember when people actually had to act professional. read more

There isn't much competition on this stretch of 1-40, but it was evident that the folks at Garrison's strive to satisfy their customers. After stopping for the night on a road trip, we popped in to order lunch to go and were pleasantly surprised by how quickly our food was ready - and all of it tasted fresh, but the hubs said the jalapeño mac & chz bites were the thing that warrant a return visit. Get people who care to work here, i mean your in the middle of nowhere im sure you need the business, i walked in planning on buying 30+$ worth of stuff for my kids and also got 40$ of gas. But got all the items stood at front counter while some fat girl was on her phone talking to her boyfriend folding pizza boxes. A older gentleman had his items behind me and stood there behind me waiting aswell even getting thegirls attention who totally ignored him after abt 5min me and the gentlemen returned our items to the shelfs and left. Only then does the worker who was sitting down eating get up go behind the counter (5min after i been outside pumping gas) stares at me through the window and laughs because the other customer who was behind me and the older man told him. I gave it a 4 because the bathrooms were not clean. The staff is friendly. Did not eat here, it was too late to eat when we got here last night & it was too early to eat when we left. They do have RV/Truck parking. Lots of grass/dirt/sand around to walk your pets in. Will come back through eventually and try the food. They do serve breakfast 24/7. They have fuel & diesel. So I'm traveling from Oklahoma City to Amarillo and I need diesel fuel in my pick up truck pulling my travel trailer. I pull in here and it's really easy access. After getting fueled up I pull around the building with plenty of room to park. I go in and find that I can get fresh cooked food. I ordered 2 cheeseburgers. 1 for me and 1 for my wife. We both agreed, This was one of the best burgers we have had in a very long time, my wife said this guy puts love in his cooking. They even put a sticker on the wrapper that said enjoy. When I got my food I asked where his tip jar was, he said he didn't have one, I threw him a 5 and said start one. Best accidental stop I've had in in while. read more

For a gas station/grill, this is a 5 star stop! I enjoyed a tasty patty melt with fries today. The patty was uniform in thickness, allowing for a perfect doneness throughout. The grilled onions were thinly cut and cooked nicely. Fries were hot and tasty. Will stop here again when I travel this way. Arrived a little before noon on a Sunday and it was pretty quiet but within 10 minutes it was packed with locals and to go orders. read more

At the Phillips 66, this is the self-described "best burger in Texas". I found this place on a trucker app that had a dozen or so rave reviews on the quality of food here. I ordered the cheeseburger with some grilled onions. Wow, that was a great burger. Juicy and flavorful with that great kick that comes with adding grilled onions. I have to agree with my fellow truckers -- THIS PLACE ROCKS! It's a little pricier that a fast food place, but cheaper than a restaurant for remarkable quality. That ever so slight crunch of the grilled bun with that melty cheese and quarter pound patty really hit the spot. The burger feels much bigger in your stomach than looks in the pic I posted. I can't believe this place wasn't already on yelp. I will stop here everytime I drive I40. read more

I was so glad I stopped here. The ladies bathroom was clean!! The stalls were so roomy. The decor of the bathroom was nice too. I was shocked! I ordered a grilled chicken sandwich and some fries. Montreal can keep its poutine--the chili cheese fries here beat ALL! The burger was delicious--and fresh! The fries--delicious and fresh. The grilled chicken sandwich was excellent. The chili (all by its lonesome) was wonderful. But the chili cheese fries...YUM! We had another four hours to to drive before we tucked in for the night, and after a hearty lunch, we got another order to go. So very NOT like us. The staff was warm and welcoming. We're traveling from North Carolina to Nevada and this was the best gas station we've stopped at by far. Everything was very nice and clean, and the FOOD. The food was delicious. Bacon Burger was great! Tots and pickle fries were delicious, as well. BIG RED on the soda fountain (of course-this is Texas, after all!). If you're an ice person, they've got the GOOD ICE on the fountain, too. Bathrooms are very clean. Employees were friendly. Good menu selection for gas station/burger joint. Decent menu prices. *Called in my order ahead of time. Food was hot and ready when I arrived* Gasoline prices are a bit higher (about 20 cents more per gallon than Amarillo). Only 8 gas pumps but that wasn't a problem. Great place to stop, if you're wanting to cover all the bases. Plenty of room for semis to park. Room to get out and stretch your legs or walk your dogs.
