1-Star Review - After spending over $25k with him, Dr. Okano still refused to help save my tooth…read moreI have been a patient of Dr. Michael M. Okano in Kapolei for years. He has already done four dental implants for me that cost well over $25,000. I trusted him with major, expensive work and expected the same level of care and respect when I returned with another tooth issue. Instead, Dr. Okano examined the tooth and immediately pushed for extraction with zero explanation of why saving it wasn't possible. When I clearly told him I did not want the tooth pulled and wanted to explore a root canal to preserve it, he refused to discuss any alternatives. I politely asked for a referral to an endodontist for a second opinion -- a completely reasonable request before an irreversible procedure. He flat-out refused. No reasons were given. No discussion of risks, benefits, or options. He simply placed a temporary filling and left me hanging, all because I dared to ask for a specialist consultation and a second opinion. After investing tens of thousands of dollars with this practice, I was shocked and disappointed by how little regard he showed for my wishes or my right to informed consent. This is not the patient-centered care I expected from someone who markets himself as providing comprehensive, state-of-the-art dentistry. If you're facing a potential root canal versus extraction, think twice before seeing Dr. Okano. He seems far more interested in pulling teeth than in working with patients who want every reasonable chance to save them. I will not be returning and strongly advise others to look elsewhere if they value autonomy and tooth preservation. Extremely disappointed.

Dr. Liu and his staff are always friendly, knowledgeable, and professional. I visit them every 6 months for my dental xrays, exams and cleaning, even had a couple crowns done. They are located next door to the Kapolei post office. Street parking is limited but there are free parking in the building. Saturday's are my appointment days and it's so convenient since I live in the area. I surely recommend Dr. Liu and his staff.

Dr. Ing would give me an estimate and these girls would try to run a way more expensive bill claiming this and that needs to be done which wasn't required by my Dr. It makes me so nervous every time I have a procedure done because I am charged so many different amounts varying from one associate to the next.
