If you come with someone, they can go shopping! Parking: 10/10 free with validation. Parking is available for visitors. If not street or ala moana Front desk: 10/10 helpful and easy to schedule. Be aware that you can use your health saving account card or credit card. You do not need to pay in cash or check or debit. Dr. Ozaki: 11/10. He is caring and good with patients of all ages. He is a little ocd, and might also check up on you later to see if his dental work still feels perfect when you got home and the anesthesia wears off. He is my new dentist of choice. To my fortune I needed urgent dental care and was referred to Dr S Saito's office while my dentist was on vacation over a year ago. Starting from the initial meeting with Dr J Ozaki I continue to receive professional care. Dr O lessened the anxiety to the care I needed by explaining the situation and the method of the care. Dr O and Maile provide fabulous bedside manner to make me comfortable to ensure I am ok while treatment is being performed. Dr S is always nice and the staff makes you feel at home. They always have a way to work you in for an appointment. The whole office is very understanding. I'm not a fan of dentists. You can ask my dentist and he'll tell you the honest truth. Until I started going back to the dentist recently, I hadn't seen one in yearsssss. Literally. Finally, I figured I needed to get over my fear and be an adult about it and find a dentist that I actually like and be willing to visit regularly. LUCKY ME. Dr. Ozaki is the best. His office is located near Ala Moana, across the street from Don Quijote. Don't worry about parking: they validate. They office is relatively small, as with just about every dental office I've been in. Every single staff member is wonderfully pleasant. And they amazingly remember your name. Either that or they're really good guessers. Either way, I'm impressed. They are always so helpful when I unload a gazillion questions about my insurance coverage, questions about my appointments, and even the procedures that I'm about to have done. Super helpful and they really put you at ease. But the real MVP here: Dr. Ozaki. Let me remind you again, Yelp friends, that I hate going to the dentist. Dr. Ozaki knew this from the get-go and he has been the most amazing dentist I've ever been to. Always making sure I'm not uncomfortable. Great bedside manner. Very personable and very professional. I can't believe I'm writing a review on a Dentist. I hate dentists and it's not because I'm afraid of them but I just don't like people putting their hands in my mouth and oh yea... it hurts. My girlfriend recommend this place to me being that I haven't been to the dentist for about eight years. I know I know... Gross right but that's how much I don't like going to the dentist. And if it wasn't for my girlfriend it would have been another eight years but I ended up going and I love going back. So let's get this started! Parking is nice because the office is located in the Kapiolani Plaza and there's a parking garage. You have to get a ticket but the office validates. The wait isn't long and the staff is very friendly. My first visit was to see if my teeth was falling out lol. Lucky for me there weren't. Dr. Ozaki was really nice and I didn't feel ashamed that I haven't been to the dentist for about eight years. He sat me down after he checked out everything and told me what work he recommends. He doesn't try to push things onto you. That's really important to me because I don't want someone that just sees a paycheck. The office works with you and really explains what your plan covers and really tries to save you money. I'm really glad that I went and really like going back. I've been to Dr Ozaki's office several times now. The office staff is extremely friendly and never have to wait more than a couple minutes before I'm seen by the doctor. Dr. Ozaki is very knowledgeable and thorough. He pays incredible attention to detail. I saw another dentist 2 months before, and Dr Ozaki found 2 cavities that the other dentist had missed. I had one of them filled today, and they even followed up with me a couple hours later to see how I was doing. Truly great customer service. Dr. Ozaki is who you want to see if you're looking for a dentist. He prides himself on being thorough and his customer service is top notch! Don't let his youth or limited years in the profession deter you as I found it refreshing to visit a dentist with enthusiasm and he takes pride in his craft. He will do all the routine work you'd expect and if any extra work is needed he'll go over it with you step by step. He'll explain what is needed now vs down the road and the office staff will give you all the numbers as it applies to your insurance (what is covered vs out of pocket expenses). Making an appointment is easy and they have validated parking within the building, not to mention the location in town is easy to find and get to. Dr. Ozaki is definitely the best dentist I've ever gone to. His staff is just as efficient and friendly as he is plus every time I've gone they have called me in at the exact time my appointment was set for. I went in for a consultation, cleaning, and to get my fillings done and throughout every procedure he puts my comfort as his top priority. I also think the biggest plus is that he has a good sense of humor and being a younger doctor he's a lot easier to talk to than most of my much older dentists I've had in the past. I decided to switch dentists after six years because the one that I had been going to was in Kahala which was no longer close to where I work and even further from where I live... I found this dentist office by searching "dentist" and the location close to my work office. I wanted to go somewhere within walking distance. I saw that all the reviews here were very positive. It's rare for me to write a review after one visit of a place only, but I feel confident to write this review because my experience with this dentist was very outstanding. Dr Ozaki is truly a professional who cares about his patients and provides the best care. The initial visit he took time to get to know me and to let me get to know more about him. He asked questions about what I wished I could change about my teeth and gave so much great advice to me when I shared some of my concerns. We had X-rays and impressions/moulds of my teeth made and what really stood out to me was that he also took close up photographs of certain teeth because he wanted me to "be able to see what he saw". He informed me that he would always make fully visible to me the options for treatment and all of the costs so that I would never feel uncomfortable or unsure about what I was being charged. The total visit was about an hour. I loved his energy and positivity. "Dr. O" (as he is referred to in the office) spends quality time to explain simple and complex procedures, cost-benefit analysis of a treatment plan, is meticulous with his work, and treating me more as a partner and less as a patient in maintaining oral health. I'm going to admit I have a phobia of dentists, much in the way Guy Hagi has a phobia of giving a correct weather prediction. Fear and anxiety are pretty much standard whenever I have to go to the dentist's office. With Dr. Ozaki however, I was reassured at every step of the way and I could tell that when he asks me, "Are you ok?" throughout a procedure, he actually means it. One of the greatest advantages of having a younger doctor like Dr. Ozaki is that he is up-to-date with the latest techniques and technologies to give patients the absolute best possible care. If you think dentistry is static and unchanging, well, that couldn't be further from the truth. Things that were new 10 years ago may have been replaced with something better today. It becomes very obvious during your visit that Dr. Ozaki loves his profession and is committed to improving the profession one patient at a time. Three words I would use to describe Dr. Ozaki and my visits are, Compassionate, Thorough, Honest. If you need a dentist or hate dentist, give Dr. Jon Ozaki and his office a try. I've been to Dr. Ozaki's office three times now and all three have been awesome experiences! The office staff were friendly and so helpful with clearing things up regarding my insurance. His partner in crime, Maile, is so "on it" and gentle as well during the procedures. They went over different care options for me and payment plans that worked best. Dr. Ozaki is the most thorough dentist I have been to, EVER. He did a full check up initially and went over the health of each tooth and what my goals were as the patient! I've had teeth cleaning and cavity repair/fillings with him. The appointments are on time with him being informative of what procedure he's doing and how long it should take. Dr.Ozaki and Maile keep you in the loop before, during, and after each procedure. Dr. Ozaki constantly checks on you during the procedure.
