Wow, I can't believe it has taken me over 20 years to write this review. yikes! Ricky and his team have been maintaining my teeth for gosh.. maybe close to 25 years? If you are looking for a solid team with great prices, this is your place! They are small, nothing big and fancy but they really take care of you. My children are adults now but Ricky saw them as children and the intro to seeing a dentist for the first time was awesome for them. They are closed Thursdays but open on Saturdays in case you work. I have HDS dental and they handle everything for me! I would highly recommend Dr. Tsuhako! read more

Ive been coming here for a couple of years now and I think it's time for a review. Sandy the front staff has been really helpful when making appointments and going over my insurance information. The hygienist is very polite and does a great job cleaning my teeth. After every visit I can't stop touching them because they're so clean. Last but not least Dr.Tsuhako is awesome and very welcoming. I've had maybe to filling done by him and I just remember the appointments going very smoothly. Thank you again for taking care of my teeth and I hope to stay with you folks for a long time! read more

Very thorough and kind. The staff is amazing. Dr. Tsuhako was very professional and friendly. He took time to review my x-rays with me and discuss every part of the visit step by step. Being a frequent traveler I have seen several dentists in different states and I can honestly say Dr. Tsuhako truly cared about my oral hygiene and cleaned my teeth himself. He addressed all my concerns regarding my TMJ syndrome and answered all my questions. His office is clean and everyone wore their PPE gear to keep us all safe. If you have reservations about visiting the dentist due to Covid, as I was, you can rest assured that you and your family will be safe visiting Dr. Tsuhako and his team. read more

I am a big baby when it comes to dentist especially pain, which is why I have avoided a Dental visit for a really long time. I took my time in picking a dentist. Thank you Yelpers for your reviews which is how I found Dr. Tsuhako. I did share my concerns about pain and the fact that I haven't been to the dentist for years, with the receptionist and they were so reassuring and kind. My first visit with Dr. Tsuhako was very positive and encouraging. My main concern was preserving my smile which is the direction we are working towards. Since then, my office visits have been something that I look forward to. The ladies in the front office are extremely friendly and absolutely amazing. In fact, I would have to say that his entire staff and the Dr. Tsuhako included are fabulous and are all working towards your best interest. I highly suggest you check them out. You won't regret it. I know that I don't. read more

They're so great here that I actually feel bad that they have me as a patient. I'm terrible with appointments and for some reason I ALWAYS forget my dentist appointments. And normally, most staff and practitioners could care less, as long as they're getting paid and you're getting charged the no show fee but not here. They care here and it shows. I don't remember their names but the two receptionists are outstanding. They always do their best to accommodate my crazy hectic schedule and I am so appreciative. You can tell that they love what they do and it's a shame that more receptionists aren't like that. After all, it's a place of care and the attitude of those at the front are a reflection of the entire office. It's that first impression that can either make or break a person's overall experience. Dr. Tsuhako is pretty great himself. When it comes to health care, being professional is key and he nails it every time. I highly recommend Dr. Tsuhako's office. They are so wonderful. Parking is convenient but you have to pay a small fee with validation. Park on the third floor so you can walk straight to his office without the burden of waiting for an elevator or taking the stairs. read more

My regular dentist moved to the Ala Moana building and is about to retire. I thought I'd might as well find one closer to Pearl City and checked Yelp (of course) for highly rated dentists in the area. Turns out that Dr. Tsuhako is my classmate's brother and the receptionist's cousin lives on my street. Coincidence? I think not. Anyway after filling out a form, Lori, the hygienist x-rayed me, checked my teeth for decay and cleaned my teeth. She used a very painless device called a cavitron to remove calculus and plaque. She was very gentle - yeah, I'm a total wuss when it comes to dental work. I needed some drilling and filling done so Dr. Tsuhako numbed me with novocain - even the needle insert wasn't to painful. Drilling and filling went well and he made sure to go over the procedure before and next steps after. Totally pleased with the professional care I received. read more

I have been seeing Dr. Tsuhako since I was 5. This year I celebrate my 33rd birthday. My parents continue to fly from outer island just to see him and I know at least 4 other families who have been patients of Dr. Tsuhako for at least 2 decades. He is a great doctor. Very personable, easy to talk to and always makes sure you're comfortable. He explains everything he's going to do. He's always been available for any type of emergency I've had. His staff is always friendly and professional. If you're looking for a dentist, this is the office you should choose. read more

This may sound weird, but I love my dentist! I found out about him through my sister-in-law. My niece and nephew also saw Dr. Tsuhako and they actually LIKED going to the dentist. Weird kids! Anyways, I hadn't gone to a dentist in years, so my teeth were in pretty bad shape when I first came to Dr. Tsuhako. I only went in because I had a toothache. They were able to accommodate me on the same day. Yikes, I had to get a lot of work done. After the initial exam he sat down with me and went over his whole plan of action, including explaining white vs. silver fillings and the cost of it all. They can do payment plans if necessary (in my case, it was REALLY necessary!). They were also very helpful about working to have as much covered under my insurance as possible. They had me spread the procedures out over time so I wouldn't go over my annual max and have to pay some ridiculous amount out of pocket! Pretty small office, but the staff is very friendly and they validate parking. I was embarrassed about having to get so much stuff done, but everyone in their office was very professional about it and made me feel at ease. He's definitely on the conservative side, no crazy butcher dentist here. He won't even touch my wisdom teeth! I felt no pain at all during all the procedures I had to endure. My teeth are in tip-top shape now! Did I mention I love my dentist? read more

Having moved back home a few years ago from Los Angeles. I had a very hard time searching for the right dentist. I have been to many dentist before. My last dentist was all the way in Ala Moana and he was quite expensive! Hence the reason I did not see the point of returning back to his office to complete the work that he said I needed. In current events my husband (USAF Officer) is PCSing overseas and requires that I get medically cleared. I needed to find a dentist in order to complete my dental clearance. I checked Tricare for civilian dentist who accepts both my dual dental insurance. I wanted someone closer to me and found a few. I actually cross referenced each dentist that came up with their reviews on yelp! It was super helpful and Dr. Tsuhako's office IS the only office that came up with FIVE STARS! I quickly called and made an appoinment the same week. The office is small, but his staff is very personable. It's not how pretty or big the office is, it's how awesome the dentist is. After my initial xrays and new patient routine. Dr. Tsuhako came in to check my xrays and discuss my next course of action. I needed a little work done considering I avoided returning to my expensive dentist for 2yrs. I made an appointment the following day for my initial consult. The next day Dr. Tsuhako knew me by my first name and actually sat down with me and discussed my teeth and what needed work! I did not need all that extensive work my last dentist told me I needed! PHEW! He assured me it wasn't bad and got started on the work after talking with me. The procedure was quick and painless. Dr. Tsuhako asked if I was okay every so often during the procedure. I almost fell asleep, that's how comfortable I was! He is the nicest and personable dentist I've ever had. He doesn't seem dull and boring either. He talks you through everything and makes sure you're comfortable. For any of you who are looking for an awesome dentist, I say look no further. Dr. Tsuhako is your guy! read more

I have been a patient of Dr. Tsuhako since 1996. He's great and so is his office staff Cindy and Sandy.

Now, if finding a good doctor was as easy as finding a good dentist... Since moving, I've been meaning to find a dentist in time for my 6 month check up but then over the weekend my tooth started to hurt... or so I thought it was my tooth.... just somewhere in my left side... lol. Anyway, called in and spoke to an awesome clerk who not only helped set up an appointment in a timely manner, discussed insurance and even provided excellent directions on how to get to the facility. I don't recall having anything go so well before when it comes to medical appointments. You're always somewhat lost trying to get to a new place, etc. but not here. The ladies at the front desk are wonderful and really thorough. Dr. Tsuhako is really easy going and has great "bedside" manners that make going to the dentist a breeze. I'd definitely recommend this place to anyone who is even a little apprehensive about going to a dentist. I've definitely overcome my apprehensions about dentists in the last few years, but its wonderful to know you can still find good dentists out there. A+ read more

I normally hate going to the dentist, but going to Dr. Tsuhako's office for my dental needs is always a pleasure! Everybody is always very friendly and welcoming and the dental hygienists are fun to talk to. Dr. Tsuhako is extremely knowledgeable and is always able to answer all of my questions and give me the help that I need. Everybody here really makes you feel that they care about your dental health. A few years ago, I had some problems with tooth sensitivity and they were able to see me right away. I found out that I had some issues with my fillings and they were able to point me in the right direction to find a specialist. I also have to say that I love the personal touches like the photos on the ceiling, so that I have something to stare at when I'm being worked on I used to get nervous about going to the dentist since other places kept poking around and would make me bleed a lot, but Dr. Tsuhako was very gentle in cleaning my teeth that I actually started to fall asleep! read more

My experience was great! Scheduling an appointment is easy with Sandy and Cindys help in the office. Lori was my dental hygienist today and answered all my questions. She was quick with cleaning my teeth, yet thorough. Dr. Tsuhako was the nicest and appreciated how I found his practice thru Yelp. His practice is across the street from Cattle Company, and next to the Starbucks in Waimalu. Parking is $3 for 0-2 hours. Park on the third level and once you enter the sliding doors make a right and their office is located on the last door to your left. read more

I started going to see Dr. Tsukako because of reviews on yelp;) and I wasn't disappointed. He is very gentle and takes the time to discuss things thoroughly with you and makes sure to answer all of your questions. I was really impressed with Dr. Tsuhako and his staff! I found him through yelp and gave him a try. I've been away from seeing a dentist ever since mines retired...over twenty years ago. Needless to say, I received friendly service and when I went back for my free consultation, Dr. Tsuhako told me what his plans were and explained everything so thoroughly. There's also a payment plan! How awesome is that? What can get more better than that? Validated parking!!! Wohoo! He got my vote! read more

I've been going to Dr. Tsuhako for over seven years. He's great, and the entire staff is very friendly. If you need dental work, Dr. Tsuhako will sit down with you and explain what you need and all of your options. The office is very clean. I like that. You also receive a courtesy call before you need to schedule your next appointment. The office has evening appointments at least one night a week which is good for people who work during the day. I can't really comment on price because I have good insurance and I don't often need more than routine cleanings. I highly recommend Dr. Tsuhako. read more

So far so good! Just had my first visit with Dr. Tsuhako. Everyone is really nice from the office staff to the Dental hygienist to Dr. Tsuhako. I think I am going to like coming to this dentist! read more

I am very happy I found Dr. Tsuhako on yelp. I went in for a cleaning, and it went really well. He communicated with me very well- he told me the three phases the appointment would include and told me what he was doing and why. I'm always very curious about what doctors/dentists are doing to my body, so I really appreciated his forthcoming explanations. He did find one small cavity, and his staff was able to find me an appointment on my preferred date. He does a one-on-one consult appointment before doing any work. During the consultation, we looked at my x-ray and he explained what we were looking at and what it meant. I loved his bed-side manner, and I have no desire to look elsewhere when it comes time for my next cleaning! I would strongly recommend Dr. Tsuhako to anyone needing a dentist on island. read more
