1/2 Daily Special * with marble rye, broccoli cheese soup and dill pickle chips
Maya C.

I'm surprised that this turned out to be a very good lunch. I ordered a 1/2 Daily Special in my favorite delivery app which is a 1/2 Sandwich, side, soup, and a drink for a very reasonable price. The sando was BYO so I added Marble Rye Bread, Virginia Ham, Provolone Cheese (both meat and cheese heated so that the cheese is nice and melty over the ham) but then through in Lettuce, Tomato, Mayo, and Black Olives for good measure with a pickle spear. I chose the Broccoli and Cheese for my soup and thank goodness they wrapped it in plastic wrap to prevent spilling. This was tasty and just the right size. For the side I got Miss Vickie's Dill Pickle Chips which I ended up giving away because I was full. The drink was Sweet Tea which was fresh-brewed and delicious. The sandwich was absolutely perfect and just what I needed. Thank you so much!

Clara's is always top notch! I have never been disappointed. This was my first time at this location. It's close to my new job location and easy to get to. I had the salad and it hit the spot. Very fresh and tasty. Pros:always good and fresh food! Cons:none that I can think of. Recommend? Most definitely

Catering order 8/12/25 for work

When in the Jacksonville office for work, my office coordinator catered from this location to have a spread of sandwiches, wraps, potato salad, garden salad, pickles, sandwich condiments, crackers, and cookies. The potato salad was pretty good, but not my favorite. The salad came with lots of dressing choices, which was a nice touch. Overall, the food was well received at the office and it was convenient they delivered to us. Very friendly when dropping off!

This felt like stepping thru a time machine but not in the awesome way you think lol. felt very olden. i suppose! felt like a very small town diner. again not in the awesome way you'd think LOL. but the gal at the counter was very sweet, she brought me my food when it was ready. very nice ! i showed up a bit late so i got my food to go. i originally made the visit because of some posts i saw mentioning their chicken salad but maybe i'm missing something. very bland chicken salad. IF i came back i would add more toppings. the veggies were very fresh and crisp! bread was kinda hard to chew. pickle was soggy and hard to bite thru the skin. i really liked the potato salad ! that was a great side. it just tastes to me kinda hospital food esque. i would consider trying other things but it probably won't happen. i'm happy with some yummy potato salad and kind service. but i am kept longing for some good chicken salad.

Veggie Avocado Pita * my absolute fav!!!
Alicia H.

These pita sandwiches are the best! First time at this location- ordered from Mandarin dozens of times, always delicious, but today i knew i'd be on baymeadows so I gave this location a shot. Super easy to order online ahead of time. Love how customizable every sandwich is. Plenty of parking, easy lot to get in and out of. Staff was friendly and my veggie pita is so great! Packed with lots of fresh tasty veggies & customized with adding provolone cheese. Hubby also loved his chicken salad pita. Reasonable price for the portion. So yummy, I could eat another pita tomorrow!

I wish I could give this a good review but the food definitely did not meet expectations at all. My mom ordered vegetable soup (which had zero liquid in it and was definitely not soup) which she did not eat and I got the bacon avocado pita with two small pieces of avocado. Pics online and pics of what we actually got are as different as night and day.

We have been Tidbits regular customer since 2007. It's hands down the best local deli. Great food and always friendly service.

Still loving this place. Obsessed with the Sampler. All the good stuff on one plate and too much for one meal, bonus meal later today. The blue cheese dressing is so good. Chunks of blue cheese. Omg. Yum yum.

Shrimp salad

I've been getting the shrimp salad on a pita. It is amazing! The pita is stuffed so much with shrimps and eggs. Yes, I can eat it all by myself. It is that good! It comes with a side of pickle and I got a fruit along with it. I came in 10 minutes before closing and there were people still inside eating. The guy that was there saw me came in and said yall need to lock the doors people are coming in. First of all, I can hear you. second, I saw there were still people eating. Third, I asked if it was too late to order to go. After I order, he gave me a look. But besides that rude comment, the food is great.

Great local lunch spot with wicked friendly staff! Homemade breads, soups, salads, and sandwiches - a must try! The chicken salad is the best I've ever had and on wheat with hover many veggies or toppings you want! A great lunch spot for anyone on business or leisure! Can't forget to mention the staff who were unremarkably friendly and helpful and so welcoming. The interior is certainly old charm but is super clean and well laid out. Definitely will be back!

We were immediately impressed when we went in; lots of dark wood and a long bar with shelves and shelves of spirits. There were mostly bourbons and whiskeys. They even had a rolling ladder so bartenders could reach top-shelf bottles. We had about a 10 minute wait for a table on a Saturday for lunch. The time went by quickly and we were seated at a small wooden table. Our server, Erin, approached us quickly and took our drink orders. I ordered a Blue Moon and my husband had the WC Old-Fashioned. It was made with Evan Williams 1783 Bourbon and he said it was quite good. ($13). For food; I had the Rooster Royale which was a fried chicken sandwich with pickles and hot honey BBQ sauce. It was $16.50, and one of the best chicken sandwiches I've ever had! Even the bun was delicious! I'd planned on only eating half; but I ended up eating it all because it was so good. I also had the homemade chips which were yummy too. My husband had the Reuben which was $19. He said it was really tasty and full of meat. He commented that it didn't get "mushy" or fall apart. He had the crispy potatoes as his side and he raved about those too. We really enjoyed our meal at Whiskey Cake and would definitely return. The only drawback I can think of is that they don't seem to have very many healthy lo-cal options.

First I have to commend Christina, who was our server. A table of eight, she managed us with such grace, professionalism, and outstanding service! With a constant smile on her face, she asked us open questions and was very attentive. Not once did I have to ask for an iced tea refill because she was staying on top of it! The menu, though short with options did have a creative variety. We all tried the cinnamon roll, which I have to say was beyond, and I do mean beyond outstanding. In fact, it was the best cinnamon roll I have ever had with the toasted pecans and the sauce. WOW!! I ended up with the pancakes and eggs, and the eggs were cooked perfectly! The pancakes were were thick and had good flavor. It was a little overcooked for what I prefer, but overall, it was very good. Looking at the other options of what friends were having the food looked amazing. I am not a bacon eater, but one of our table mates had a bacon dish that she said was phenomenal. I will definitely be back

Think bar snacks -- pre-packaged pretzels (we had the bacon-flavored ones, tasty but probably something you could grab at Publix). Would've loved some fresh food or food truck action. We came out specifically to support a local cat rescue event, which was awesome. Major props to the brewery for partnering with the volunteers and even offering to help promote adoption efforts to their regulars. You can tell they care about their community. There's also a side area with extra seating and a bunch of board games -- most are donated, some missing pieces, but still a fun, low-key vibe. Makes a nice third space to hang with friends and kill a few hours.

My friend ordered us the Pork Belly Kimchi Fries, I got us an order of the Cheese Curds, and for my entree I got an order of the Asian Sticky Wings. I probably would have never ordered the kimchi fries on my own. Sometimes kimchi can be fickle and really hit or miss. It was definitely a hit here. More on the sweet and tangy side but worked really well. Fries seasoned perfectly, and the pork belly cubed and cooked to perfection. Out of all of the times I've been to Wicked Barley, these fries have to be one of the best items I've had from there. Cheese curds were pretty basic. Tasted great, but nothing to write home about. If you like Cheese curds, you'll enjoy theirs. I originally had my eye on the jerk chicken wings and I was warned by the waitress and my friend that they are REALLY hot. Jerk chicken is generally one of those thats right on the borderline of too hot for me. To give you an idea, if you're familiar with Butthutt BBQ's jerk chicken, theirs is as far as I can go for spice level. So I switched it up to be safe, and I am glad I did. Sweet and sticky, these had really great flavor inside and out. Would definitely get these again in the future. Brought a couple home to the hubby and he seemed to enjoy them too, and he normally doesn't like, what he refers to as, "sweet meat". I had three different beers in my favorite tasting style, sour. I had the PB&J sour, the mango sour, and the orange cream sour. The orange cream was my favorite of the 3. We enjoyed the sounds of the band Splittone in the background and enjoyed the whole vibe of our meal. I'm hoping to visit again on a future weekend and possibly bringing one of my pups along with me since they are dog friendly.

We eventually decided on the mozzarella della casa as an appetizer, which was delicious and gave us reminiscent Rome vibes. It was most similar to a caprese with the addition of fire roasted tomatoes and peppers. We split our entrees, which were just as good. The linguine carbonara and pasta combo were huge portions. Excellent value for the money. For dessert we had a decadent cannoli and a limoncello, which stole the show. Overall this was the closest we got to real Italian cuisine in years. She started listing various options and provided details why they were her favorite. Someone who only knows the menu backwards and forwards and has personally partaken in the food would know such detail! It was so refreshing to hear her just talk about what she liked and why. And the most important part the "why" she liked it! You don't hear that too often. I had a conversation with the manager, Erik, and reiterated to him the importance of having such a dedicated professional (he promised me that not only what she recognized her for her outstanding job, but that she would receive two free meals as a reward for her customer center approach.) My friend had the del monico steak and they cooked it perfectly - the way he liked (breathing and mooing). My other two friends had the fried shrimp which they devoured! I was simple, just got the chicken sandwich, and I will admit I was disappointed because it was overcooked. However, Erik took care of that, and I was very generous of him. This goes back to seeing why Chelsea was as good as she was because it starts at the top and works it way down. Overall, this was a great experience because of the company, the ambience in the restaurant which is warm embracing and inviting and the great service we had from Chelsea and Erik.
