Great tea, and very well priced. The jasmine green dragon is personally my favorite.

As soon as I walked in, I got that warm, beachy vacation-bar energy. We tried the char siu bao, pork belly, chicken wings, beef chuck, and their house-made Spam burger on a Hawaiian bun, along with a kale salad topped with gochujang macadamia nuts. Every dish delivered on flavor, but my favorites were the burger and the kale salad. Happy hour drinks were all reasonably priced, and I loved how they were served in cute glassware. They also had a great selection of local craft beers for $7, which was amazing. As a beer lover, I got to try brews from Dominion, Bellwoods, and Rorschach. I'll probably wait for a menu refresh and come back to try a whole new round of bites--but overall, such a great vibe for happy hour.

While walking near the well, we stumbled upon this bar and decided to go in. When we first asked for a table on the patio, the manager refused, saying it was fully reserved, which was not true. Then, in the ground floor bar area, almost every table was empty except for 1, and he again said everything was reserved. It felt a bit weird, but we agreed to wait. We stood outside in the cold windy night for about 15 minutes while discussing whether to go somewhere else. It had been a long day and we didn't have the energy to start over so we stayed. After a while, the manager returned and offered us a table on the second floor. We accepted, sat down, and ordered a variety of food and drinks, all of which were nice. The servers were great as well. I was left wondering though if we were treated differently because we were dressed casually or for some other reason. Overall, it was an okay experience.

Hakka Boyz - Singaporean Wow Noodle Bowl ($11.99) + Shrimp (+$3.99)

Hakka food is traditionally spicy, but you can choose the spice level. It recently opened early May 2024. They are open from lunch until 2am/4am! We ordered the following: 1. Mango Lassi ($5.99). 2. Rose Milk ($4.99). 3. Cutting Chai ($3.50). 4. Singaporean Wow Noodle Bowl ($11.99) + Shrimp (+$3.99). Served with sirracha, cashews, and rice noodles. 5. Butter Chicken Noodle Bowl ($11.99) + Chicken (+$2.99). Using dry tomato buttery sauce. 6. Fried Beef Momos ($9.99), served with Boyz salad, garlic mayo, and fire sauce. 7. Chicken Lollipop ($13.99). 8. Chili Beef (not on the menu). 9. Beef Puff x 2 ($3.50 x 2). 10. Curry Chicken Puff ($3.50). The Mango Lassi and Rose Milk were good. They are on the sweeter side, but I like my drinks sweet. The Singapore Wow Noodle Bowl was as expected, except they have bean sprouts that we not cooked. I asked the restaurant, and they said it was meant as garnishes. But I pointed out that in Singapore, they eat bean sprouts as vegetables. They restaurant will look into cooking them. The Butter Chicken Noodle Bowl was unexpected. It wasn't your typical saucy butter sauce, but a dry version. It still had the taste of butter chicken, but probably with far fewer calories, which is great for me. The Fried Beef Momos had a good dipping sauce. The Chicken Lollipop was so juicy and tender. The chef made Chili Beef for us. It was very good and I recommend putting it on the menu! The Beef Puff and Curry Chicken Puff are usually eaten as a snack. I wanted to try them. They didn't disappoint. There is no free WiFi. The restaurant is not wheelchair accessible. There are no customer washrooms. There is paid neighbourhood street parking. Review 2024-102

We got the French onion soup, burrata, beef tartare and tempura shrimp calamari/ green beans/ zucchini . All the apps were delicious, in particular the French onion soups (although it was quite salty as well). The tempura was very lightl and flaky as well. For the main, I got the rotisserie chicken while my friends got the steak and fries. The chicken was very juicy and the portion size was HUGE. The steak also melts a bit in the mouth. I definitely recommend both. The service was very on top of things, and it was a relaxing atmosphere as well. There was supposed to be a 'hidden" speakeasy (which wasn't that hidden at all as the door was wide open when I passed by it) but we didn't have the time to see it unfortunately. From the outside, it looked pretty spacious and quiet.

It was my first time there with my three friends, and it's on the second floor hidden past the bathrooms. It's such a wow factor when you walk in from the high ceiling and beautiful decor. The music was great by the live DJ, we had such a fun time. Definitely a great vibe for conversation and we will definitely be back. Perfect to spend time with friends or a nice date night.
