Last Saturday, Gowan kicked off Peterborough Musicfest 2026 by performing at Del Crary Park. He launched Peterborough's Musicfest's 39th season. My best friend lives in Peterborough. It was perfect coming up to see her and both of us seeing Gowan perform. It was a free concert. The catch is that you need to bring a camping chair. My friend had two. Yay! She was kind to drive us over to the park. She parked on the street and we brought her camping chairs with us. The park is large to accommodate a ton of music fans. I liked that there was an ambulance by the park's entrance just in case. We got decent spots and plopped our chairs down. Folks were civil. There were guys walking around if you wanted a 50/50 ticket. They never got to us. My friend got samosas at one of the vendor tents. They looked amazing, stuffed full of beans, potatoes, onions, and corn. Gowan was amazing. He played and sang for nearly two hours. Such a great show! There are washrooms at this park. We didn't use them, but I'm glad they were there. Leaving was orderly and nice. I was impressed. I had a fantastic time at my first Peterborough Musicfest. I look forward to returning again. (277)

They accommodated all of our requests, we had asked for hot and honey sauce for the wings, and they were good with it. The wings were crispy, well sauced, large, and fresh! We also ordered calamari and the coconut shrimp, these two were pretty standard, but the wings, I really regretted not ordering two pounds, they were delicious! Our mains were salads. The Cobb was nice the chicken was cooked to perfection! The steak salad was also pretty good, nice cut of meat. What I really liked about this place was their choices of dressing, they let you know what dressings come with the salad, but give you the option to choose any of the dressings they offer. I can't wait to come back for our next visit. And the owner/chef came to check on us with food quality, and I thought this was just great! Our experience here was just delightful

Previous visits have…read morealways been good, but this time I ordered the Seafood Special, that came with a lobster tail, shrimps, scallops, mussels and calamari. The waitress said that if I didn't like calamari, they would substitute with some additional shrimp. When the dish arrived, I didn't get additional shrimp, what they did was add some extra mussels. In fact, the meal was almost all mussels. There was a lobster tail, but in the whole meal there was only one scallop and three shrimp, all of which were significantly overcooked and rubbery. The waitress was pleasant and attentive, but it took a long time for the food to arrive, which I would think be unusual for a Thursday afternoon around 4:00 o'clock. I will certainly think twice before eating there again, and if I do, seafood will not be on the menu for me.
