Can't recommend this company enough! We hired them for a rehearsal dinner in June 2023. They were so easy to work with and answered all questions promptly and in depth. The food was excellent and they ably accommodated and food preferences/ issues. All the staff were extremely helpful and courteous they even made sure the bride and groom were fed even after they had packed up all the food. Big shout out to Anchor Tent as well, all of the rentals were in great shape and as ordered. We've heard so many kudos from our 50 guests. Best rehearsal lunch ever!! The crew came to the house, set up, served and cleaned up. They were all friendly and helpful as well. It was raining so we were stuck inside but the staff made the best of it even though they had to serve apps by walking through the rain :p. The food was delicious and such a huge change from regular wedding related food. We had lobsters, mussels and clams, chowder, corn on the cob, baked potatoes and coleslaw. For many years we have had some great seafood purchased at the Osterville Fish Company on Falmouth (28) and Osterville West Barnstable Road. Recently, we picked up some soft shell crab, tuna for sesame tuna, and some steamers. We know the soft shell crab has a very limited availability, and boy were those good! Unfortunately, we'll have to wait for next year to have a repeat. We entertained an industry trade group of 20 from Ohio this past weekend at our home in Osterville, and because they don't see seafood like this very often, a traditional New England clam bake seemed to make the most sense. When it was all over everyone was totally impressed with the quality and service, and they raved about the two young people who put the whole thing together. We were sitting around our pool, enjoying cocktails, and just at the right moment, they brought the clam chowder to each guest. That was a very nice touch, and no one had to get up and go get their chowder. They set up a buffet style serving station which moved everyone quickly through the line. They knew our guests were a little uncomfortable in how to eat their lobster, so they cracked them, pulled out the meat and laid it back on the shell, and no one had to make a mess out of their dinner. The very first impression of the young man and young woman was very warm and professional. I pulled in behind them, they shook my hand and said, "You must be...." Unfortunately, I missed their names, since I would personally recommend them, but they are probably doing dozens of events, weekly, and that's not likely to be practical. One word: Amazing! Clambakes, Etc. catered a corporate event I hosted in Wellfleet back in June. I wanted a traditional pit-style clambake which is actually really difficult to come across nowadays. The staff was so helpful and flexible, allowing me to change menu items as I needed. They also agreed to pay all of my vendors upfront (rentals, flowers, musicians, etc.) and charge me after the event (this is huge for me... working for a large corporation, the amounts of paperwork I would have needed to complete to pay each vendor is ridiculous so this was a tremendous help!). The day of the event, the Clambakes, Etc. staff worked for hours prepping, making sure everything was exactly as we had discussed. And the most important part... The food was DELICIOUS!! Clambakes, Etc. catered my backyard tent wedding of 110 guests in July of 2012. The vision for our wedding reception was that it would be light and fun. We wanted to have a classic New England clambake with all of the fixings! The food was AMAZING, the staff was PROFESSIONAl, the prices were REASONABLE and they did everything they promised they would do in their advertisements and more! They me start out by talking about the food. We ordered appetizers for about 100 people. We had chicken skewers, scallops wrapped in bacon, cheese/crackers, and fruit. There was an abundance of food that was very tasty. Next came the chowder, it was beyond words. The guests were raving about it. Shortly after the chowder was served the guests were asked to approach the buffet table for their meals. The portions was huge and the food was fantastic. The workers of Clambakes Etc. ran like a well oiled machine. They did their job properly and were very friendly. After they cleaned up the food and trash they packed up all of the leftovers and gave it to my parents (lobster, chicken, steak, chowder) We didn't take it because we were going on our honeymoon. My parents were impressed and excited to eat leftovers that lasted them a whole week! My mother was worried about the paper and plastic utensils because she was afraid they would be flimsy, but everything worked out. Clambakes Etc. gave the guests a huge metal tray that you would use to heat food. They put your lobster, chicken, or steak in there along with steamers, potatoes and corn on the cob in a netted bag. Everything held together well and it added to the laid back atmosphere. Another great aspect about Clambakes Etc. is that they accept credit cards. Since my husband and I paid for the majority of our wedding that was a great convenience that not all companies offer. Clambakes catered my 8/2011 beach wedding for 60 guests. They were very professional. Guests loved the food. The price was so reasonable. My husband and I kept commenting how great the staff was especially because they were very young (college age). We had so much leftover, I ordered to much, but worth every penny. We used Clambakes Etc for a small beach wedding in Eastham this past weekend. The set up crew was very accommodating with our location, which was tricky to get to, and the crazy high winds on the beach (this was a few days after a hurricane had passed by the Cape). The chowder was the best we've had, the clams, mussels and lobsters were cooked perfectly. The staff was so nice and easy going, they didn't bat an eye when the tide surged up past the usual high-water mark (see above re: hurricane) and into the middle of our dining and serving area - they just took off their shoes and went with the flow! Clambakes Etc. did a "pot" clambake for just under 50 people for my daughter's engagement party this Memorial Day weekend. Very smooth! Arrived at 11AM for a 1PM meal, set up all the actual cooking gear away from where the guests would be mingling, and set up service where the tables were. Friendly, professional, and best of all, unobtrusive! (They've done this before, believe me). From set-up to clean-up, they stayed out of the way, and that was most appreciated! Food was standard-issue clambake fare - lobster, steak (which was excellent!) , & chicken for the main course, as well as the usual sides of shellfish, corn, and cole slaw. Perhaps if all had gone as planned, I too would be giving Clambakes, Etc. 5 stars. However, things did not go as planned & my beach wedding was scheduled for 8/28 and Hurricane Irene threatened to crash it early on. By Friday, it was clear that Clambakes Etc & Hurricane Irene were to be our only guests and Clambakes was bringing a whole lot of food & we no longer had guests to eat it. I called Jason Friday morning in an attempt to see what we could work out for our Sunday event as it was clear to me that his staff would not be cooking a pot style clam bake in a hurricane. Unfortunately, it was only clear to me and not to Jason. To his credit he did agree to review our order (which, is worth mentioning was for 25 people, this was not a huge wedding) and he called me back v. Quickly to state that essentially I was off the hook for an additional $200 ($400 in total). I acquiesced as it was better than paying the entire total and having food for 25 people and no one to eat it -- a waste all around. I stated that I wanted to pick up the food on Saturday that Jason had already "put the labor into preparing" (by Friday at 9 AM for a Sunday wedding?! Smells fishy to me) and Jason agreed. My $400 bought me a whole lot of butter (over 5 lbs), 3 bags of frozen clam chowder (I had envisioned the Clambakes Etc team peeling potatoes & making the chowder from scratch), 25 bags which did include potatoes, linguica, corn, mussels, and steamers), and some chicken. Lest you think I am a bitter, Irene scorned bride, I encourage you to read the reviews of the other vendors I worked with around this. Given the circumstances, i suppose that both Jason and I did the best we could. read more

I would be very careful when you sign up with Clambakes,etc. They seemed very nice. I deposited $200.00 on a Monday and on a Thursday, three days later I realized the clambake was not going to work for my guests . I immediately emailed Clambakes and let them know that I would be cancelling. They had 5 weeks to book that date again and they would not agree to pay me back my $200.00 if they booked the date again. I own a business and I never keep people's money unless absolutely necessary. I understand they keep the money if they do not rebook but at least they could give back half as good will. They are not losing any money. they are making money by keeping my $200.00 as I am sure they will rebook for the date I originally had. Very bad business practice. read more

The reviews for Clambakes Etc don't lie - they are that incredible. During and after the wedding, there were at least 2 dozen people who said my wedding was hands down the best wedding they had ever been to and Clambakes Etc was such a huge part of that. The food was amazing! And so cool! A lobster bake! (That doesn't break that bank shhh). There were a million details and Jason was on top of all of them. As my dad said later - we wished we could have watched them work to see the secret because we were baffled afterwards on how it ran so smoothly. When they arrived, it was quite funny to see 10 people pile out of the trailer and get right to it (it was almost like a team sporting event). They had all of the details taken care of - from remembering lobster bibs to renting galvanized buckets for shells to leaving no trash, it was such a smooth wedding day experience. Leading up to the wedding, Jason was AMAZING at answering my emails (and I sent quite a few with really minor questions). Some of my more traditional older family members thought that I had lost my mind for booking a vendor without trying the food first, but trust me the food is really great (I lived in NYC for a few years and grew up in New England - I've eaten at a lot of restaurants and a lot of wedding food - this was the best wedding food I've ever had. Quite a few guests said the same). The lobster was perfect; BBQ chicken was great; veggie/vegan/dairy free option (grilled polenta) was good; and I didn't try the steak but my friend from NYC said it was good. Sides were eye catching and tasty. Chowder was incredible. And the appetizers - oh my goodness get appetizers if you book this vendor - the raw bar boat was incredible; bacon wrapped scallops were out of this world, bruschetta was amazing, and I didn't try the rest.
