Yet everyone raved about how exceptional the meal was, from appetizers through dessert. The sun-dried tomato-crusted halibut was especially memorable. I have honestly never had fish that melted in your mouth the way it did, with such warm, layered bursts of flavor. Chef Andre was so easy to work with during the menu selection and preparation, and once he arrived at our home, all we had to do was relax and let the magic happen. Our server, Aryna, was a pleasure to have caring for us and anticipated our every need throughout the evening. I would highly recommend Cape Cod Private Dinners.

Chef Chris was very easy to deal with prior to the event and responded quickly to my emails. As he was the chef corresponding with me throughout the entire process, I was quite surprised when another chef showed up at my home. There was no notice from Chris that he was unable to attend my event. The meal was served on time though the corn on the cob was not included. There has been no explanation about why it was not served even though I saw the corn being shucked. The lobsters and steamers were over cooked. It was difficult to get the lobster meat out of the shell and the steamers were chewy. On a positive note, the corn chowder, coleslaw and potatoes were delicious! There was leftover chowder that everyone enjoyed the next day. Communication regarding my concerns following the event was very slow. It took several phone calls and an email to get a response (I did receive one voice message and then nothing). In the end, I was disappointed with the handling of my concerns and with management.

The food was phenomenal: beautifully presented, perfectly seasoned, and talked about by our guests for weeks afterward. Many even said it was the best wedding food they'd ever had. Equally impressive was the team's professionalism and warmth. The staff went above and beyond to ensure everything ran seamlessly, anticipating our needs before we even thought of them and treating our guests with exceptional care and attention. Planning with Sumptuous was also a joy--they listened to our vision, customized the menu to reflect our tastes, and delivered on every promise with incredible precision. A special shout-out to the owner, Shannon Mahoney, who took special care to ensure the needs of the bride and groom didn't get lost in the shuffle! We spent a lot of time during the cocktail hour taking photos, but Shannon made sure we didn't go without appetizers! (And such delicious appetizers they were!) That is the kind of touch that sets Shannon and Sumptuous apart, in our opinion. We are grateful and would wholeheartedly recommend Sumptuous to anyone looking for an exceptional caterer. Neither of us really knew what a personal chef service looked like. We love cooking but we didn't/don't have time during the week to cook. We hoped we'd get more vegetables into our diet at a minimum. That not eating out would mean less of the white devils (sugar, salt). I reached out to The Skinny Beet in a frenetic and desperate state last December. Since they've entered our lives the sun is shining, the clouds have parted and Mondays are happy (re: they are miracle workers). We have been a weekly client with The Skinny Beet for almost 3 months now. At the end of 1 month we reached out to them and shared a list of each positive benefit directly or indirectly related to hiring them as personal chefs. I would like to share this list with you (reader of my review): 1. My husband and I spend more time together. 2. We portion control better. 3. We work out more (have time to work out). 4. We feel better: less groggy, less irritable, more energy. 5. The food they make tastes flavorful, wholesome and satisfying. We get to eat our favorite cuisines with less of the sugar/salt and more grain/vegetable variety than what we know how to cook. 6. We waste less. 7. The brain space we wasted thinking about what to eat, what to cook, when to go pick things up, crap-I-forgot-an-ingredient --- Poof! Gone. Which, working full time while part time grad school, any and all brain space I can allocate to my work is priceless for me. From Week One: Flexibility with schedule and menu planning was made easy for us - We come home and our kitchen tools and pans lovingly (and somewhat expensively) acquired over time are clean - There are delicious dishes made with quality ingredients ready for devouring in the fridge. We are so grateful for the difference The Skinny Beet has made in our quality of life. Seriously, I wasn't kidding: Miracle Workers.
