Unfortunately, we'll have to wait for next year to have a repeat. We entertained an industry trade group of 20 from Ohio this past weekend at our home in Osterville, and because they don't see seafood like this very often, a traditional New England clam bake seemed to make the most sense. When it was all over everyone was totally impressed with the quality and service, and they raved about the two young people who put the whole thing together. We were sitting around our pool, enjoying cocktails, and just at the right moment, they brought the clam chowder to each guest. That was a very nice touch, and no one had to get up and go get their chowder. They set up a buffet style serving station which moved everyone quickly through the line. They knew our guests were a little uncomfortable in how to eat their lobster, so they cracked them, pulled out the meat and laid it back on the shell, and no one had to make a mess out of their dinner. The very first impression of the young man and young woman was very warm and professional. I pulled in behind them, they shook my hand and said, "You must be...." Unfortunately, I missed their names, since I would personally recommend them, but they are probably doing dozens of events, weekly, and that's not likely to be practical. If you're having a bunch of folks in for dinner, this is one memorable way to entertainment.

As he was the chef corresponding with me throughout the entire process, I was quite surprised when another chef showed up at my home. There was no notice from Chris that he was unable to attend my event. The meal was served on time though the corn on the cob was not included. There has been no explanation about why it was not served even though I saw the corn being shucked. The lobsters and steamers were over cooked. It was difficult to get the lobster meat out of the shell and the steamers were chewy. On a positive note, the corn chowder, coleslaw and potatoes were delicious! There was leftover chowder that everyone enjoyed the next day. Communication regarding my concerns following the event was very slow.
