Pick it, load it and pop it! I love ears piercing! It is orthodox for me to get my ears piercing from Claire's and The Icing! I love their selection of earrings and the price is fair dependent on the earrings. (It is not actually free, you are paying for the service with the piercings). Unfortunately, I went here on a Thursday and it was packed. For the first time, I had to wait in line until it was my turn to get my piercings. Usually, it is empty at most Claire's, but this one was packed with customers and I felt that everyone wanted to get their ears pierce today. I was going to leave since I was waiting for 5 minutes until someone finally gave me a form to fill out. Since I have done this many time, I knew the procedures of the form and what I needed to pay since it was for my cartilage, there was an extra fee of $3. There was 2 store associate at the time. The manager was piercing the two customer's ears that were ahead of me in line. Waiting roughly more than 35 minutes later, it was finally my turn. I thought I would get my ears pierce by the other person who seems to know what she is doing. But no, another young sales associate came to work and after clocking in, she was asked to pierce my ears. I was not overthrown by her outfit because a casual store like Claire's I don't think requires a formal dress code. But she had a hickey on her neck and it was very distracting. Even though she tried to cover it with makeup, it was still very apparent. She was nice in general but what I did not like was that she uses the sanitation wipe and wipe the counter first, then take the same exact wipe and wipe the piercing device. That is a complete no! You should use two different wipes for two different things! And why would you go wipe a dirty counter and then use the wipe to clean the device! It did not make any sense to me why she would do that. I really hope they retrain her again because it is very unsanitized! I did not have a good experience this time, and I felt very uncomfortable. I wish someone else would have pierced my ears, or else I would go to another location. But overall 2 stars because she got the job done. The waiting time and cleanliness are just too overwhelming and I was not too pleased.

Cute!

I came here to get my ears pierced. Jackie was the one who did it. She was super gentle, and it didn't hurt at all. It was fast and pain free. Everything is sterile, safe, and professional. It's a great place to go for a quick ear piercing, or if you're taking a small child for the first time.

Bad experience. Bad employees. Don't go, shouldn't even get your ears pierced with a gun.

I've been a customer at this store for about two years now, and I wanted to share my recent…read moreexperiences that really stand out to me. Over the past year, l've noticed a big improvement in how things are run, and I truly think the new store manager deserves credit for that. In previous years, when I brought in clothes to sell, my experiences with some of the buyers felt very unprofessional, in fact I had multiple bad experiences with one of the female buyers that I notice still works there. She was very rude and condescending and now when I come in to sell I specifically don't want her to attend me. However, this year has been a completely different story. The newer buyers seem much better trained, more organized, respectful, and clear in how they take care of their customers. The whole process feels smoother and more customer-focused now, which makes a huge difference. In fact, today I had a question about the pricing of some of my items and the new store manager was very helpful and I left feeling very happy! Because of these positive changes, I actually look forward to bringing items in again, and I feel more confident in the process when working with the newer staff. Overall, I'm glad to see the progress and hope it continues in this direction. I have also recommended this location to my family and friends and they love the store!

The good: I love curated thrift shops like this because the…read moreclothes are already preselected for you and you don't have to dig as deep as you would in places like Goodwill (though Goodwill prices are definitely cheaper). So, there are definitely trendier items here and clothes are organized based on different trends as well (Y2K, designer, vintage, etc). I like the openness and brightness of the store. It resembles its other location in LA. I like that the racks aren't overcrowded with too many items so you can actually slide the coat hangers and look at the items. I got 2 jackets and culotte pants from here. Each were $12.99. The store was very nicely organized and even had an armchair to lounge on. The shoes were in good condition. The bad: I saw several tops with holes, snags or frayed fabric. They don't have healthcare worker discounts like the thrift shop across the street has. The interesting: You can bring in 5 items at a time in the fitting room. One of the workers at the register was on her phone a lot but perhaps she was looking up values/prices of the clothes she was labeling? They do buy clothes here.

Uptown Cheapskate is this fully stocked, stuffed to the brim, place to grab your vintage clothing…read more This shop really has a lot of clothing! I mean, really a lot! They have tons of a little bit of everything. They have tons of women's clothing, tons of men's clothing, tons of T-shirts, and a whole lot of shoes. Really! A lot of shoes! The store is what I would say is a step above shopping at a thrift store. What they do here is, offer the best of the best of vintage clothing. So, when you go in here, you know you're going to find high-quality items. This is not to say that they're cheap. For some, their prices may be considered a little bit high. But, again, what you're getting is the best of the best of vintage clothing, and sometimes you have to pay for that privilege. Depending on what you're looking for, this store may very well have it. From my experience, this store is most commonly geared towards a younger audience. They have tons of T-shirts, jeans, and a lot of stuff that could be considered on the more casual side of the picture. For example, when I shop a vintage store, I'm commonly looking men's sport coats and suits, and stuff along that line. They really don't have a good selection of these items. This is just something to keep in mind if you're looking for that kind of thing. But, on the other hand, if you're looking for all of the more casual style of clothing, they have a lot of it. Located on Hawthorne Boulevard, this store is fairly easy to find. They have a parking lot in the front and the rear, which sometimes can become kind of full. So, you may have to park on the street. This is because of the fact this store is a very popular shop. A lot of people come here, particularly on the weekends. And, when they have their sales, forget about it. The store is packed. One way or the other, if you're looking for that vintage piece of clothing, that really cool something, that T-shirt that you've been looking for forever, that pair of really cool shoes, or whatever else, this may be your place to find it.
