Thursday nights they have $1.00 bud lights and there was no cover charge, so that was really nice. Only problem was the scene...total sausage fest, we ended up leaving a lot earlier than planned. I have been here three times. My first visit was for dinner outside and it wasn't bad-food was acceptable and service was standard. I wasn't thrilled though overall. I have gone back twice for drinks and each time I think I am going to lose my hearing. You can't talk here unless you want to yell. I guess it's just not my kind of place. give me a quiet pub where I can sit and enjoy intelligent conversation and a drink that is not waterdown. We did an early lunch on saturday which was good. The orange crush was really good with freshly squeezed orange juice. The fireshrimp is highly recommended. Went here for brunch the other weekend. They found a table for our party of 12 easily, but that's about the only positive thing I can write about our experience. Four of us had to leave for the airport an hour and a half later. Enough time for a meal, right? You would think... The entire table ordered after 15 mins, and we told the server we were catching a flight so ours could come out earlier with our check separate. This obviously made no difference because no one's food was ready for 45 minutes. They brought us some less-than-fresh fruit to tie us over. When our meals finally arrived, there were no positive comments. My poached eggs were so overcooked they came out virtually hard boiled, almost as if they were cooking for the entire 45 minute we sat there waiting! The hollandaise was cold and the english muffin was soggy with a few bites of sad crabmeat thrown on it. Across the board, all the meals at our table were subpar. We scarfed down our unsatisfying food, paid our tab, and were ready to bolt to the airport only to find out that they charged us someone else's table. After waiting for 1/2 an hour at a nearby Canton Square restaurant, being served cold food, and simpky walking out, my friends and I were happy to walk into this place. The service was completely friendly and accommodating, the food was incredible, and everything was perfect. Will definitely go there again. read more

Had a fabulous dinner there on 8/5/16 prior to going to an event in Baltimore- not sure why anyone would think an unkind comment about the staff would be helpful in a review (Mike G: "..not the sharpest tools in the shed"). Says more about you than the servers in the restaurant, who were professional, friendly and on top of things. They were very welcoming and engaging - from the bartenders to the waitress. We had soft crab platters stuffed with imperial crab - excellent! Drinks and friendly banter actually had us come BACK after the event, for more drinks and shared app's in the courtyard watching the Olympic Athletes parade on the T.V. It was a very fun evening. Have been here before, and have not felt the need to complain about the food. It's pub food, but good pub food and the soft crab platters were above the norm. This is one of my favorite go-to's in the neighborhood. The long-term staff are all really nice, especially Drew, the young bartender. Sometimes the newer staff members aren't quite as helpful. Maybe it's lack of experience. Who knows. Anyway, they have really agreeable drink prices, a huge Reuben sandwich, great Black and Bleu salad, well-priced brunch specials, and the greatest happy hour deal (3-7pm I believe). For HH, you get a dozen fresh oysters (always of generous size), what looks like a half pound (could be a pound; i don't weigh food, I just eat it) of steamed shrimp, and a bunch of hot wings. We like to split the wings into half old bay, and half hot. We can feed our family of three easily on this, plus have some to take home for lunch the next day. And the $5 sangria and fresh fruit crushes top off the HH meal! Certain nights it can get a little rambunctious and "frat boy beer party"-ish, but I suppose that comes with most Canton territory. Solution? Just go a little bit earlier and beat them there. And the dining room is always pleasant and quiet, even if the boys are upstairs boozin'. Oh and Claddagh is totally kid friendly. Not in an obnoxious way where there are all kinds of little kids in there, but they welcome them with open arms and (get this!)...coloring pages and a kid's menu! Only one other joint in Canton Square, that I know of, does this. This is my little girl's favorite place to eat, as said by her! So needless to say, they keep us coming back for an all around pleasant experience. read more

Came down to Canton for a different agenda but stayed afterwards to meet my boyfriend at a bar of his choice for happy hour. He chose Claddagh's. It was busy and cheery and the front looked like a typical bar, but the whole other side was restaurant-esque. Lots of servers and 3 bartenders, but service wasn't faster than at a different bar. We came and found that Bud Light during happy hour is $1 only... $1.25 total incl tax. Wow! The seafood was featured as Happy Hour specials. My boyfriend got a dozen oysters but said they were "so so". I wanted a full meal and got the Thursday Entrée Special: Two (6 oz) crab cakes, mashed potatoes, and garlic grilled seasonal veg. DELICIOUS and only $18 for what could have been two separate dinner portions. Crab cakes were huge, juicy, seasoned great, very hot, and 99% lump crab meat. The veg was a mix of baby carrots, baby squash, and green beans... All sautéed/grilled in a salty, spicy mix of garlic goodness. Mashed potatoes were not super special, but the quantity was great! All were served on a big plate with dried parsley all over (which looked a bit tacky, seeing as we were simply eating at the bar in an Irish Pub) but altogether, good food. I'd give my meal a 8 or 9/10. Also, sangria was $5 happy hour special and came in a HUGE wine glass with fresh apple chunks and orange. I love my sangria! My husband, 21 month old son and I had lunch here yesterday. Overall our experience was okay. We arrived around 11:15am and were seated quickly. Unfortunately, they do not have a kids menu and the only kid friendly item they had was chicken tenders...for $7.99. Thankfully I packed enough snacks that our boy was happy. We ordered old bay wings as an app (7.95). After about 25 minutes They came out too hot to eat or touch so we had to wait quite some time to eat them. Both of our entrees once again came out SO HOT we couldn't touch them for 5-7 minutes. While hot is good, too hot is annoying. My husband ordered a burger ($12 with bacon and cheese). It was delicious. I ordered The Stout. Unfortunately it was so salty I wasn't impressed. Here's the kicker: we were charged 50 cents per tablespoon size cup for ketchup and mayo for the burger, ketchup for our fries, and ranch for the wings. We paid $3.00 for CONDIMENTS. Our entire lunch took an hour and a half. There were only 3 other tables seated aside from the bar, so this didn't make much sense. Thankfully World Cup was on the TV and it amused my son for the most part. read more

I can't believe I haven't written a review for Claddagh's yet, given that it is one of the more frequent places I visit in the city! I've been here for brunch, happy hour, dinner, and dancing - everything was great. The food (especially seafood) is fresh. Their shrimp is HUMUNGOUS and cooked just right. Great drinks - love their grapefruit crush. We often come here after football to enjoy pitchers of beer and wings. Their nightlife is also pumping so it gets busy, but is fun dancing the night away. Service is always friendly. There are pool tables, darts, and foosball upstairs. read more

So our Claddagh night came as a total surprise. We arrived at the 'square to dine at a different establishment. (We'd been to Claddagh for drinks before, but we had not previously considered it a destination for a date night style dinner.) After being treated rudely by one spot, then totally ignored at another (how do you have a two story dining area Plug Ugly and no hostess station? Or no hostess at all?) we were standing on the corner trying to figure out options. Out of Claddagh bounded one of the owners, asking us if we'd like a table. What a great feeling to be wanted! We were escorted inside and seated immediately. Our server was a charming young woman who recommended a few of the specials. We went with her recs - mussels in a bacon and Guinness broth, sweet coconut fried tilapia and shrimp with rice pilaf, and a slider-style selection of petite filets with mashed potatoes. Wow. The specials were delicious and well-prepared. We were checked in on by our server several times, the manager stopped by too. We appreciate the attention. The creme brulee for dessert complemented the meal well. All things equal it was a charming spot for dinner and the unexpected nature of the adventure made things that much more enjoyable. As a spot for an afternoon pint, Claddagh works well, but don't discount eating dinner there as well. read more

Went here for Cinco De Mayo as the mexican resturant across the street had a 2hour wait! Had the Sangria and Steak salad. Service was attentive and the food was good... All in all not bad pub fare. Only compliant was they mixed the salad with the dressing, I dont ask for dressing on the side becuase thats typically the way it comes. I'll keep that in mind when im here next time. read more

I've only been on Saturday afternoon, but I'm impressed with the quality of service, the half price burger that is worth a few more miles on the treadmill, and it's an interesting place to spend an afternoon watching the activity on O'Donnell Square. Awesome place in an awesome neighborhood ... Came here on a Friday afternoon for happy hour. Got the 30 wings and pitcher special. For $17 who compass that up?? I was also drinking their crushes which are $6 for happy hour... Squeezed right in front of you like they should be! We were able to get a 10/10/10 split on the wings so we got buffalo, old bay and Cajun ... Extra crispy of course! They were done perfectly. Wings were a bit on the smaller side but that's everywhere outside of buffalo ... And the Cajun was not as spicy as I'd have liked but the buffalo sauce was killer! We may have found our new Baltimore wing spot! 30 wings, a pitcher of bud light and two crushes (one being a double) it came up to roughly $38. Now that shit I can get behind ... Being a local I had passed Claddagh Pub many times but with so many choices, never ventured in. Once I finally got around to walking through the door I was pleasantly surprised by the food. Much better than expected. I had the hummus plate with tasted fresh and home made. I coupled that with the pizza starter which also tasted quite fresh. First time I went my food was horrible and cold, friends talked me into going again because they liked dancing upstairs, but when we tried to get in they told me I couldn't come in with my small soccer book bag, but my wife's purse that was 3 time is size was fine. Its too bad that the owner of this bar is such a jerk or this place could be great. I have been in here several times listening to him yell at staff and even at patrons makes the dinning experience horrible. The staff is great and the food is even better but its never going to be worth having a bar manager chase you out of the bar or listen to him yell at his staff about how they didnt memorize the specials. I understand that sometimes staff needs to be spoken to but standing in the middle of the restaurant and yelling is not the appropriate place to do it. And if you do have a problem never try to have a conversation with him because he will yell at you (the diner as well) or hide in the alley waiting for you to leave. Stay away at all costs unless you like a horrible environment!! read more
