Marcos gave me an estimate for each one, which was very fair. First, they did a complete tear off and put on a new roof. Then, they replaced the deck boards and did repairs to some boards underneath. The third project, they replaced our patio door with a sliding glass door. At each job, they arrived on time, cleaned up the area after, and they are all very friendly. I know I wouldn't get a better job for a better price anywhere else. Next job....replace kitchen floors!

I hired this company for several exterior repairs. The concrete work turned out well, and I was…read morepleased with that portion. Unfortunately, I was disappointed with the front door trim replacement. I provided photos and explained that I wanted something similar to the existing trim. We discussed flat PVC, and I specifically asked if it would be similar to what was already there, just without the decorative profile. The finished result was not what I expected, and the caulking and paint work did not look professionally finished. Paint was left on the concrete near the bottom door trim, and debris was left in the yard. The storm door also did not operate properly after the work--it no longer opened as far or closed/latch as it had before. Screws were also left stripped and shutters were bent. I had to carve out additional time for the company to return and try to correct the issues. I had also requested replacement of the smaller inner trim, but only after the work was completed was I told that it was part of the storm door and could not simply be replaced. I wish this had been explained during the estimate so I could have made an informed decision beforehand. The original project also included work on the garden hose connection. They ran into an issue and told me they would provide a new quote, but I never received one. Even if they ultimately couldn't complete the work, a follow-up letting me know would have been appreciated. Overall, the concrete work was good, but the door-trim workmanship, cleanup, communication, additional time required for corrections, and lack of follow-through left me disappointed.

MHIC# 65416 nor its owner Gary Clift. Fire-Safe Chimney Sweeps, G.T. Clift Inc. is wholly dishonest, does not complete the work, will not return to correct their incomplete work, and blocks your phone number(s) when you attempt to work with the owner (Gary Clift) to receive a full refund or complete the service. First Warning Sign - Will not accept Credit Cards for services. With a Credit Card, you can dispute the Charges. Fire-Safe is then required to either complete the services or have the Credit Card Company refund your payment. In my case, I am out $475 (Check). I contracted with Fire-Safe to clean my chimney on 12/7/23, only to have the smoke back up into the house an hour after they left the home. I called Fire-Safe (Gary) immediately (12/7/23), Gary stated he would call back that afternoon, but there was no call Back as of 12/18/23. I attempted to call Fire-Safe on 12/18/23, to find my phone number Blocked by Fire-Safe. Second Warning Sign - When you call the Owner 'Gary' they Block your phone number on all their lines. Blocking the call is evidenced by the call going directly to voice Mail on the first ring. Clearly, there is no expectation of a 'Return Client'. When you call from a phone number Fire-Safe has not blocked, they answer immediately or quickly return the call. Yes, this is real and occurred on 12/18/23. Gary returned a call from my work phone within one minute of calling. Gary said he would call me back the following day (12/19/23) however, Fire-Safe has now blocked my work phone and will not return the call. Third Warning Sign - I spoke to Gary on 12/18/2023, he lied to me claiming Maryland Law prohibits Chimney Sweeps from going on a roof to clean the Chimney Cap. To verify Gary's assertion of a Law or Regulation against servicing the Chimney Cap at the roof end of a Chimney, I contacted the Maryland Department of Labor (MD-DOL) that regulates Maryland Chimney Sweep Contractors to ask if this was a Maryland law or regulation? The MD-DOL Employee stated that the Chimney Sweep was not being honest, that there is no such law or regulation, and to stay away. Sadly, this advice is too late for me. If you are reading this, it is not too late for you and your wallet. As of 12/19/23, there has been no response or contact from Gary Clift or Fire-Safe, and my 2-phone numbers remain Blocked. I will call from a new phone number to inform Gary and Fire-Safe of the Maryland Home Improvement Commission Complaint, the BBB Complaint, and Social Media Reviews we are posting in hopes others will not experience our loss of $475, an incomplete job, and how Fire-Safe has rendered our wood stove unusable until I pay a reputable Chimney Sweep to properly complete the work.

I called and spoke with Chris for nearly ten minutes on October 27, 2022 (see screengrab). He asked me a series of questions about my crawlspace and attic -- as he pulled up my home on Google Maps. He then promised to send me a quote within the next day. He did not. I called back on November 2 (again, see screen-shot). This time, Chris was more curt. He didn't seem to remember chatting on the 27th. Fine. I outlined the specs on my house once again. He, oddly, asked if I sent plans over. It was odd to hear I needed to send plans to get a quote for insulation on a house less than 1000 sf. He never asked for plans on October 27. Overall, he frankly acted putout by the idea of giving a quote. And maybe that's why I never got one: even after calling and answering Chris's questions twice.
