Also, if a client says not to cut an area, do not cut the area. My bangs are so choppy when I specifically said not to cut them. Love is in the hair I saw many Instagram posts about Neisa's work- ranging from hair coloring, hair styles and makeup and I absolutely loved the work so I scheduled an appointment to get my hair and makeup done for my brothers wedding. I called the salon and spoke to Neisa. She advised me that my appointment would be about 2 hours long- an hour for hair and an hour for makeup and to please be on time. She asked for my telephone number to secure the appointment and then advised me if there's any changes to please call the day before to cancel. I got a text message confirmation of my appointment which I absolutely love because I'm so forgetful and I was also asked to sign a waiver before I entered the salon. My appointment was scheduled for a Saturday at 2:00 pm. The salon is located within the heart of downtown Skokie, right past Lincoln and Oakton. The salon is accessible via train (yellow line), CTA or by car. There is plenty of free street parking. Please be advised that the salon does not have a sign on the font of it saying "CK Studio Salon" so it is easy to miss it. However, it is right next door to a bakery and two doors down from a pizza shop so you know you're close-by if you see either of those shops. I found street parking and hurried inside. One thing I really liked about this salon is everyone was wearing masks and the beauty chairs were spaced out so you weren't in contact even remotely with the hairdresser nevertheless the person next to you. The salon is very cozy and there was a lot of space to sit while you wait. It was clean and tidy and unlike in most salons where it is so noisy and loud- the environment was very chill and calm. Neisa started with my hair first. I brought extensions because my hair is shoulder length and I wanted an updo. Again, my hair is super short but Neisa said no problem, like she literally did magic on my hair! Neisa first dried my extensions as I had just washed them before my appt (side note, don't wash your extensions the day of the appt but rather 3/4 days before so they dry completely). Once Neisa dried the extensions, she went to work putting them in. The extensions themselves are difficult to place but Neisa was so patient with me and really took her time doing an amazing job. When you work with a professional, they have a vision and they know how to execute it so it didn't take long for Neisa to make me look amazing. Omgosh I wanted to cry when she showed me my hairstyle- like I couldn't believe it was me!! My hair looked beautiful. When she was done with my hair, she did my makeup. She asked me what I wanted done and I told her to just do whatever she thinks will look best but that I wanted my eyes to look magical- like "get lost in my eyes" look. She set off to do her magic and man, without me having to tell her what I want, she did everything that I would do for myself, powder, light foundation, contour, beautiful eyeshadow, etc. Neisa just has an amazing talent and it is so apparent in her work because she is so detailed and doing it from the heart. Anyways, I felt like a Queen and I was so grateful to Neisa for her golden hands. The cost of my service was $85 for hair and $85 for makeup- they do not take tip with credit card so make sure you bring cash and too generously. Prices vary depending on the service you are getting but as you can see, I got my money's worth! Thank you Neisa for making me feel like a million bucks. Highly recommend this salon to everyone in the North Suburbs and surrounding area but mostly Skokie, Niles, Park Ridge, Northbrook, Morton Grove, Glenview and Wilmette!! read more

Editing to mention that they delete negative reviews on Google.. they deleted mine. Yikes. I'm refraining from naming or hinting on the stylist that worked on my hair. A little bit of background - I've had platinum blonde hair with only root touchups done the last 11 years. 8 of those years, I spent going to a dedicated stylist who truly brought out the most beautiful white, blonde color. As my roots were reaching their 7th week growth, I figured perhaps it was time to go to someone new. That's when I came across CK Studios Instagram page, and one stylist stood out. I booked a consultation with said stylist that lasted approximately 30 minutes. Upon seeing my hair, she observed that my hair had a lot of damage from all the years of bleach - something I do not deny at all. She said no more bleach and a short haircut was necessary. Since she refused to use any bleach on my hair, she began to pressure me into getting a color I did not want, at all - a color she specialized in. My only request, and something I said at least 50 times, was to retain my blonde hair, no matter what, as it was what made me and is me. We (she) began talking options. I must've shown her at least 10 pictures which we were going back and forth on. We finally reached an agreement with picture #2. She said she would keep the lower blonde portion of my hair that I already had. and she would just darken the top portion, blending it in with the blonde. Then, she states that I could keep my hair blonde, coloring my roots with a dye that would lift and/or lighten it (as it did not have any bleach). I thought excellent, that's what we'll do! A week later I came in for the root touch-up. The first thing she did was inform me that the dye she planned on using did have bleach in it and we could no longer go through with just dying the roots. So, I reminded her of picture #2. I was under the impression she knew what to do. Once she had me in the washing chair, I automatically realized it was odd that she put toner on my entire head. When she took the towel off in the mirror my heart sunk. All of my hair was dark. When she dried it, it was an even stranger color, one I can't describe. I shrieked; all my blonde is gone! To which she gave me a snippy reply. I think I went into a state of shock, not knowing if what was happening was real or if I should cry. When the shock wore off 2 days later, I reached out to her letting her know that I did not agree to this color nor did I like it, I HATED IT. She did exactly what I begged her not to do! She was extremely defensive and insisted she did what was best for my hair... if that was the case, it would've been nice to know she wasn't planning on doing the color we agreed in the picture and instead, doing what she wanted. At one point, I was even told to go swimming in a pool... There was 0 sympathy from her. I can't see communication being an issue because I reiterated "do not touch the blonde" soo many times. I would've never let her touch my hair had I known she would do this. It's now day 7; 7 days of washing my hair with clarifying shampoo amongst other things to try to get the toner out... which hasn't happened. I've practically ruined my hair all over again. I've been going to CK salon since 2018 and then during Covid I neglected my hair quite a bit. I finally made a return and I'm so so glad I did! Their new location is absolutely gorgeous and their staff and stylists are as wonderful as I remember! I've always wanted to go a natural red but have been scared to fully dive in and worried that it would end up looking fake. After a consultation with Neisa I felt confident my dream hair would finally be achieved and boy did she deliver. It is SO STUNNING. It looks so natural, full, and blends seamlessly - you would absolutely never know there were tape ins. My hair is naturally very fine and thin and I never imagined I could have hair like this. When I arrived, someone had to come open to door because it was locked. I think they are just trying to be cautious because of COVID. They then took my temperature and when I passed that "test", asked me to sit an open seat far away from another client. I was extremely nervous getting my haircut because my hair is a huge part of my identity but Eliana absolutely crushed it. She gave me the best haircut of my entire life and I am so grateful. I definitely recommend this place for high quality color. I will note that my experience was a little on the pricier end of salon experiences. Process: I called and scheduled an appointment. The stylists at CK Studio Salon are incredibly talented and artists with hair color. They were booked on the weekend for months! I was lucky enough to get an appointment with Eliana. We scheduled a pre-color consultation a week before my appointment where we discussed what I wanted and I showed her pictures of what I liked. A week later, Eliana transformed my hair by cutting, coloring, blowing it out, and finally curling my coif into perfection. The entire process took about four hours. Stylist: Eliana is incredibly talented. Get her if you can!! I'm sure all the stylists are great. What I liked about Eliana is that she was incredibly patient and a perfectionist in getting every detail right. She even stayed until after the salon closed to make sure that my hair was complete and did not make me feel rushed. She is also super talented and creative in the coloring process. We chatted about my favorite stylists and I loved how she even trained with them! Details: Free parking in lot nearby. Super cool "Alien-spaceship" Wella hair dryer. Wella dyes. I arrived and checked in with ease; after that my hair stylist, Eliza, which I was so fortunate to be paired to took good care of me. I was a first time client for balayage with Eliana. When I left my hair looked great. Three days later my hair started to break and the balayage got very light. I called her and let her know , we agreed on low lights and a toner my next appt. As the days went on my hair got worse. I could barely get a brush through it. Texted Eliana and she asked what products I use. I bought the same Dyson hair dryer and brush she used . Bottom line- she used too much bleach on the balayage and damaged my hair. Went to my touch up. She started bombarding me with questions blaming me that I went in water on my trip -I didn't- and when I firmly answered her questions she told me she 'wasn't gonna have an attitude in her chair". Unprofessional. I then tried to have a consultation with the owner Christina. I drive all the way from Chicago for a required consultation only to be told that she was going to stand by her employee and not take me as a client. She neve once called me before I drove up to tell me not to come. So she let me drive all the way to blame me again. Unprofessional and unethical. I don't recommend this studio or the questionable Eliana who works there. I don't see any estheticians licenses displayed either. All of their windows have shades down, and there is no visible outdoor sign. It's probably not even properly licensed. read more

I've visited several salons in the city who claim to be blonde specialists but in reality left with damaged hair and unpleasant experiences. Christina with CK studio salon truly lives up to her title of blonde specialist. I came in with whatever knowledge I had of being a blonde for 10 years and she gently guided me to trust her expertise ( I typically had 30vol done to lift, she used 13) and I can't express my shock enough, I actually had beautiful blonde lift without losing the integrity of my hair. I have fine thin hair so any loss is significant loss. Anyhow, I'm incredibly thankful I found Christina through some local friends and can't recommend her enough.
