I had an excellent experience with this Aaron. He was incredibly knowledgeable and went above and beyond to help me. He answered my questions and make sure I understood my options. I expected to find really expensive fish, but the options were affordable and instead of the 3 I came in ready to buy, there were like 5 and the best advice. What impressed me most was how he considered my desire to build a pond and gave practical, thoughtfal advice rather than simply recommending the most expensive products. I really appreciated that his focus was on what would actually work best for my needs, not on making the biggest sale. Extremely helpful, knowledgeable, and genuinely committed to giving good advice. I highly recommend Aaron and CK Fish! Hopefully pictures coming soon. Also, they have the COOLEST sand waterfall displays for sale. read more

I feel like this location is in good hands. I see most everything that I liked about SF still in their DNA, but I also see a lot of changes and improvements. The new owners are clearly in it to win it. Their addition to the livestock side of things is ambitious for sure, it I look forward to seeing them do well, and I'll be continuing to be a patron. :) read more

Everyone offered to help BUT they were not pushy. They were polite and let us look around after we said we just looking. Nothing more annoying than feeling pressured. When we finally decided what to get Aaron was extremely helpful. He answered all our questions. He even talked us out of buying something bc he knew the fish would outgrow our 20 gallon tank fast. He knew they wouldn't be comfortable in the space. He even offered for us to bring in a water sample for them to test in store and then explain what we could do to make things perfect. This is why I always go to a local shop and skip the big box stores when it comes to fish and pets. read more

We recently had our fish tank crash and unfortunately several of our fish died. My son was playing a tournament down the street and wanted to stop by this fish store. BEST DECISION EVER! The staff is very friendly and knowledgeable. Aaron helped us select a few new fish for our tank. He had us make a list of the fish we liked and then told us which fish would live well together and which would not. He also recommended that we start off with 4 fish instead of the 20 my wife wanted. He also explained to us the step by step process for restarting the tank culture. We are planning on going back this weekend to add more fish to our tank. read more

Everything is going right under new ownership. Plenty of staff that are happy to help and attentive. Don't shy away from the poor ratings that have carried over from the strictly fish days. Tons of fish, both fresh and salt. All the dry goods you could need in a pinch, and a ton of UNS tanks, filters and stands in stock/on hand. read more

Just went here for the first time today after years of going to Strictly Fish. This place is great! Lots of employees available to help, everyone was friendly and answered my questions. Their live plant selection was great. So many different tanks set up to look at, loved their beta sorority. It's also cool that they sell live black worms, that can be hard to find. I loved Strictly Fish and went as a child but this place is amazing. We will definitely be back to buy some more stuff. read more

Strictly fish was a nice lfs, but now as CK Fish world, their selection is better than before. High end to budget friendly, common and rare. One of the best selection of aquascaping stone and wood selection in this area. Be warned it's easy to get inspired here, and all the materials are available at your convenience. Came home with a zebra Pleco to add to colony. *The store is wheelchair accessible and you'll be able to go in all aisle. Not the usual lfs. read more

This shop has so many options and they are beyond helpful! Aaron was very informative and educated us on water and tank care. We will definitely go back for all of our aquarium needs! read more

This place is one of the few tropical fish stores left in the South Bay area. They are highly knowledgeable in helping you populate your fish tank. Prices are reasonable and their fish and live plants are healthy and tanks are well maintained. I highly recommend checking them out! read more

The two gentlemen helping us today were so helpful and patient. We brought our 1.5yr old in for his first fish as he is obsessed with fish and they had lots of good recommendations, and walked us through how to care for the fish correctly. They were never pushy with trying to sell things we weren't interested in and made the experience very fun for the whole family. read more

These people do not care about the fish here multiple fish either dead or just about to die. Seems they are only interested in making a profit off of these poor creatures. Horrible experience, we tried letting the employees know and they completely disregarded the information. read more

The three times I went here with my dad I bought harlequin rasboras, neon tetras, a guppy pod, and Java fern bunches (which I didn't know were multiple plants tied together at the time, but I have the patience). I had good service with all three visits, and I'm so glad that not a single one of my fish or plants have died. I definitely would recommend this fish store if you're looking for good quality livestock. read more

Went there today for their grand opening sale. Buyer beware...their frags and frag tank had Aiptasia.

Not sure how this place has so many good reviews already. The place is torn to shreds and under construction. They have very little inventory. I wish them the best though. Good ridens to the a-holes who ran the previous place into the ground with zero customer service and just lack of care for the hobby. read more

New owners. Strictly fish is gone. The new store has a lot more than cichlids. Prices are decent and fish looks pretty healthy too. Workers are friendly and greeted us. read more

We bought a Betta Fish here and it died after less than a week. We bought everything here. The tank, plants food, everything. The reviews we found online were not very good. I looked at my receipt and the guarantee is only 48 hours. Needless to say, I will NOT be returning and would NOT recommend. read more

I've been a loyal customer at this location for over 20 years, but my experience under the new business name and ownership was a major letdown. The shop is clean, but the respect is gone. I dealt with a taller Asian gentleman who was very short and serious with me for no reason. There was no service at all--he acted like my questions were a bother. Some of the floor staff were just as unhelpful. I've been in this hobby for two decades and still spent money today because of my history here, but I left feeling angry. I trip off respect, and I didn't get any from the management or most of the team. I'll be taking my business elsewhere from now on. read more

My daughters and I went to buy some guppies and tetras recently. 2 days later, 3 out of 4 fish died and my daughter was devastated. We're assuming the water quality wasn't great. I called the store to see what we could do differently, and without asking, Nick told me bring in the water for him to test and that he will replace the fish we lost. Great customer service and Nick was so friendly and helpful. My daughters are very happy with the replacement guppies they got today. Thank you Nick, we will be back! read more

I used to like going to Strictly as they have various fish that aren't carried elsewhere. However, I've bought multiple fish that clearly appear to be male, only to turn out to be females. I'd say about 30% of the fish I hand select with Terry, end up being females, which is a clear sign of juiced fish. If you're striving for an all male tank, be cautious. read more

Owned and operated by a good family of brothers. Their father who founded the business was tragically killed in a freak auto vs. pedestrian accident just last year. RIP he apparently contributed greatly to the world of fish keeping. It is so sad when a family has to deal with the grief and keep the business going at the same time. One son named Steve has taken on apparently way too much responsibility, and trying to manage the accounts. He is not coping well and takes it out on those around him. Even the customers. I would not go to this business when Steve is there. He can easily go into a rage. Especially if you question his bookkeeping. If you do go, double check your receipts (especially if it has to do with store credit). At this point, they owe me $141 total $77 store credit and $64 gift certificate (which I lost). When I brought an error on their credit slip into question yesterday, I was accosted by Steve's rage. My receipts where torn up and I was asked not to return to the store. Of course, I never will, but I think my review might help this man wake up to the fact that the "over responsible" are not good for anyone. Take a break! BTW, my father passed 2 years ago and I, being the oldest son have taken on a huge responsibility I was not prepared for. Thank God we didn't operate a business together. My mother is 88 and has dementia. The fish keeping helps a lot. Try that! I hope and pray this family heals from their tragic loss. read more
