It's doing well in my tank and slowly getting healthier :) the javaferns at Nolan's were tiny and even in worst condition lol so I think I still got a good plant. Staff is super knowledgeable on plants and fish. I like how much staff they have, you never have to wait for help there's always someone that is around. Btw the owner is super nice and sweet! She said new inventory every fridays - I came on Friday and they actually had SO many more plants. So it's best to come Friday I guess so there's a bigger selection to chose from :) Btw: My water lettuce all rotted and melted in my tank. Idk what happened !!! I was here on friday 12/12/25, I was looking at a pleco fish and the mango pleco caught my eye, but wanted to sleep on it, decided to come by Sunday 12/14/25 and I saw the place boarded up/caution tape. So sad to see that there was a fire today, from the look of it, it looks pretty burn/charred up inside. RIP to the many beautiful fishes who burn in the fire, I do hope and pray some of the fishes survived, and I hope Tong's rebound/ rebuild/ reOPEN in the future.

Fernando eased My initial anxiety arriving as a total tank newbie, and gave Me a tour of the various low-maintenance plants I could start My nitrogen cycling with. Nolan - the Captain of this aquarium supplies ship - answered every one of My questions with patience & grace, did not talk down to Me or make Me feel stupid, and I left feeling happily hopeful that I might actually be successful in creating a fish-friendly safe & healthy environment. BTW, this is a very impressive website. But was what even more impressive was our visit to the store. We were immediately greeted with a warm welcome from Eddie. He was informative and passionate about the fish that were in his care. Not only did he help us select a healthy beautiful fish, he went so far as to give us some additional instructions on a handwritten note on how to acclimate our new pet to his new home and how to look for sings of stress. Our drive was about an hour away, so Eddie made sure he packed the fish well and even placed an ice pack in a box to ensure the fish did not over heat as we were in the midst of a heat wave that week. We even discussed feeding, filtration, plants, water quality & treatments. His customer service was full circle. Two weeks after bringing home "Sherman" We were ready to set up a larger 55 gallon tank for both our original fish and our new fish. We were feeling a little out of our comfort zone, so we reached out to Eddie again. Not only did he remember us, he took the time to review the key steps of setting up the larger tank as well as the steps needed to transfer both fish into their new forever home. Once again, Eddie offed key information on how to get the tank ready before the transfer. Once again, he extended the invitation to call him if we need more help when we are ready to add both fish to the new tank. His information was clear and concise which was very much appreciated. But the fact is we wouldn't have purchased the different fish had we known they wouldn't get along. But I guess the store desperately needed our money. Mind you, we approached him kindly. Age of Aquariums has both freshwater and saltwater (marine) plants, fish, corals, driftwood, and cleaning equipment. The space is large, clean, and you can tell that they take great care of their fish because they look active and not sickly. I came on an afternoon over the weekend and was excited to see so many people asking about how to care for aquatic plants, when to introduce tank mates, etc. When you enter the shop, to your left are tanks, decorative wood, and dry goods like supplements. Loosely speaking, it seems like freshwater specimens (including some hefty bettas, thank you for keeping them in nice big mason jars instead of plastic) are on the left side, while marine/saltwater are center and right. The plants you see when you enter are far healthier than what you'd find at big box stores - I myself picked up some red root floaters and an Anubias variety called white rose. I've been to many a shop growing up that were dim, damp, and generally not as well kept as Age of Aquariums. They really take their time to explain how to design a tank, care for plants, and what to look for in healthy fish. Really fun spot I would like to bring my dad to so he can upgrade his 10 gallon tank!
