It's doing well in my tank and slowly getting healthier :) the javaferns at Nolan's were tiny and even in worst condition lol so I think I still got a good plant. Staff is super knowledgeable on plants and fish. I like how much staff they have, you never have to wait for help there's always someone that is around. Btw the owner is super nice and sweet! She said new inventory every fridays - I came on Friday and they actually had SO many more plants. So it's best to come Friday I guess so there's a bigger selection to chose from :) Btw: My water lettuce all rotted and melted in my tank. Idk what happened !!! So sad to see that there was a fire today, from the look of it, it looks pretty burn/charred up inside. RIP to the many beautiful fishes who burn in the fire, I do hope and pray some of the fishes survived, and I hope Tong's rebound/ rebuild/ reOPEN in the future.

I told him i would pick up from San Diego (more than 100 miles of driving each way!!!) I did not pay yet and asked to change my CPDs to 3 otos. I told him i would like 6 habrosas, at least. When i drove up to santa ana (the next day), with an invoice of 6 habrosas there were only 4 in stock. I understand that Corys prefer larger groups. Had it been disclosed ahead of time that there were only 4 corys, i would not have driven up from SD to Santa ana and the INVOICE SHOULD HAVE BEEN CANCELLED BY THE SELLER If there is not enough stock. There were not even enough otos as i requested. -This wastes my 3 hours of round trip driving (100+ miles) and gas to be short changed. ----------------- -i will have to report this to the BBB as well. -after speaking directly with Nolan, i will wait for his business to rectify this situation before i take additional actions. --------------- Edit on 12/2 after seller's response below: 1. 85 miles or 100 is an approximate. It is a trivial point given that it is a long distance drive from sd to santa ana. The crux of the matter is that you sold me 4 cories when you knew ahead of time i wanted 6. I acknowledge you are closed on Wednesday. You had employees in the shop anyway on Wednesday--they said they had to come in anyway to feed the fish for the long weekend whether i came or not. 2. The invoice i received is an automated email invoice. I can email it to you like. It has 6 cories written on it, not 4. And to your reply i am not looking for other cories, iam looking for the habrosas. 3. You knew i was there to pick up six (that is why the invoice that you personally emailed me stated 6 habrosas, which you wanted me to pay). So Eiither you or your employees did not take stock before you emailed me an invoice or you knew ahead of time that you did NOT have 6 and tried to sell me what you have. 4. The 4 habrosas and the oto cats have SEVERE red gills when they were pre-packed in bags upon my arrival. Either this is due high ammonia or red gills disease. I regret buying them. 5. A local fish store in san diego says it is bacterial and recommends medicine treatment. Since the day i picked them up They have been in medicinal treatment and it is nearly a week where the red gills have been present even with daily water changes and 0 ammonia.. I never had this experience with other local fish stores. 6 aside, i have received unsolicited yelp correspondence from your employee. Note i was courteous with your employees. They did not need to initiate any involvement in yelp which was not appreciated. 7. The only correspondence was that you would send 2 cories free of charge on monday and i would not take further action until we resolve this problem. 8. Please do not send the 2 cories, i am wary of the quality of care from your shop given the state of the cories and oto cats. Going forward I will not be ordering from this "guppy mill". And i will report this to the bbb and to other social media sites

He was informative and passionate about the fish that were in his care. Not only did he help us select a healthy beautiful fish, he went so far as to give us some additional instructions on a handwritten note on how to acclimate our new pet to his new home and how to look for sings of stress. Our drive was about an hour away, so Eddie made sure he packed the fish well and even placed an ice pack in a box to ensure the fish did not over heat as we were in the midst of a heat wave that week. We even discussed feeding, filtration, plants, water quality & treatments. His customer service was full circle. Two weeks after bringing home "Sherman" We were ready to set up a larger 55 gallon tank for both our original fish and our new fish. We were feeling a little out of our comfort zone, so we reached out to Eddie again. Not only did he remember us, he took the time to review the key steps of setting up the larger tank as well as the steps needed to transfer both fish into their new forever home. Once again, Eddie offed key information on how to get the tank ready before the transfer. They are in similar containers to those in Petco or Pet smart. They looked in a lot better condition to those in big commercial stores. It's difficult to keep male bettas in larger tanks it's uneconomical for a pet store, so these are in smaller containers but they look well kept. Overall, good store I've only ever been greeted by the older lady but every time was a good experience. I will continue to support them. The reason their…read moreprices are lower compared to their competitors is that they do not quarantine their fish so you are at high risk of introducing fish that come with parasites from the wild or will cause Ick outbreaks in your tank due to the fish being stressed and their immune system being suppressed. I have setup a quarantine system and I quarantine every single fish I buy from them for a minimum of 2 weeks unless I see symptoms of parasites or illnesses in which case I will follow a strict quarantine regiment. Using this approach, I have successfully introduced several marine Angelfish into my system who were significantly cheaper than the competition. Emperor Angel ~ $130 Flagfin Angel ~ $100 Koran Angle ~ $95 Regal Angel ~ $110 I asked them to order me a Majestic Angel to complete my collection that also includes a Queen, Blue, French and Black Angel.

After 3 years of trying every single option with little to no results, you begin to feel defeated, lost, financially suffering, etc. That was me tonight coming in for ANY advice beyond the 50+ things I've already tried. Cody & Derrick (hope I'm spelling his name correctly) were empathetic, SO knowledgeable, and patient. They both heard out what I've tried, what results I'm hoping for, etc. and never once did either of them give the sense that they either didn't believe my exhausted efforts and/or weren't equally as invested in offering/workshopping new potential routes for my dog. Any pet parent who will do anything for their baby yet yields little progress knows how devastating this can feel, so walking out of the store tonight I had so many informed options (a Plan A, B, AND C for the next few weeks) that gave me a genuine sense of hope I haven't felt in a while. I am moved by people like Derrick & Cody who care about people's pets like their own. So, beyond offering a million amazing products at a great price, they offered knowledge and genuine compassion--which, to me, makes me the most loyal of customers.
