In the past, he helped with a commercial repair that was a MAJOR job affecting many tenants. Today, he handled a micro job of just a simple hose bib replacement. Simple for an expert but a leaking hose bib is not a do-it-yourself type of project for those without the skills and tools and ability to handle the things that could go wrong. When we bought our house it came up in inspection that a small part of the plumbing was still galvanized and not updated to copper. We were referred to CJ's by our usual plumber since they no longer do under house work. CJ's came out assessed the situation and gave us a verbal quote. Everything sounded good and we set a date to do the work. We got a text the day of that they were stuck at an emergency and would have to reschedule. He suggested 9am Monday. We accepted. Monday comes and at 9:15 I text to confirm that we are still on. I then receive a text that this week will be no good as they are doing a remodel in Long Beach. I called him several times and even left a voice message but he never answered or replied. He just left us hanging 2 days in a row. That was very rude and unprofessional. I needed a hot water heater, called CJ's Plumbing, spoke with Jason who provided the complete service at a predefined price of $1,300. He appeared with a hot water heater, installed it, bled the air out of the water lines, billed us, was paid, and left. At first, all seemed fine. But subsequent days following, every hot water faucet would blast out masses of air from the lines, "startling everyone". I called Jason, who "guessed" it was our water pressure, then "guessed" a slab leak. I checked both and neither were the cause. I called again sending him a video of how bad the problem was, and reminded him that he was a "professional", and we had an unacceptable installation. He told me to call the heater manufacturer. I reminded him that "He" selected the manufacturer, "He" purchased and installed the tank, the results were unacceptable, so that was "His" job. He basically, didn't care. He "Never" came to our house a second time. He had been paid, cashed the check, so now the problem was ours. So having no choice, we did call the manufacturer, who provided us with a specific phone number for "Jason to call while he was here". I told Jason this in a text, but he never returned. First, he was busy for a whole week. So we made an appt for him to come over the following Monday at 11:00 am. But at 10:45, Jason texted me his cancellation, while reminding me in his text, that it "Wasn't the tank". Well, he was wrong. So we called the manufacturer again, who indicated they had changed the material the "Anode", was made of, (inside the tank), which was causing these problems for certain water hardnesses. They had wanted Jason to call, so they could "hire" him to do the repair. But I informed them that Jason had "ditched" us, and I now refused to have him over again. So they sent a professional contractor plumber, who immediately replaced the anode, correcting the problem. My complaint is that Jason simply doesn't back up his own work. We lived with this outrageous problem for 3 weeks. Jason is simply "not" a professional! I recommend you look elsewhere for your plumbing needs! read more

I had one of the best/greatest experience hiring Jason from CJ'S Plumbing. My kitchen sink clogged Friday night and Saturday morning I was in a panic because my son was to host a party for some friends. I had called some more plumbers but either they couldn't come until Monday or around 4 or 5. I call CJ'S Plumbing and got Jason who told me the price and time that he was available. First, the only review I believe is the one written by Donna R. Not the other reviews. Her experience is similar to my experience except I had Jason come to my house repeatedly to fix the same problem (Not very smart of me). Jason came to my house to open a clogged toilet and tub. I'd had lots of problems with a clogged toilet over the years and called various plumbers. Jason cleared my clogged and told me the problem was the pipe carrying waste sloped up instead of down making it difficult for waste to flow out to the main sewer line. Also, he said I needed a low flow more powerful toilet and that would help to carry the waste out. I allowed him to change the toilet, repipe the "troubled" spot along with putting a clean out near the back area to give easy access if It became clogged again. Once he was finished I was told by Jason my line was clear and the problem was taken care of after spending over $1000's. He also said he looked at the line and there was no roots and it should work. I was given a 6 month guarantee and like clockwork within a 4 month period the toilet /tub clogged again. Jason came out a insisted on telling me I clogged it with paper towels, wipes etc. I said " l know better than to put those items in the toilet" but he was argumentative and insisted that's what I'm doing. By the way, he accused me on other occasions of putting wipes etc in the toilet when he came to unclog my back bathroom drain. (Although I was not having a good feeling about his service I continued to call him out because I invested so much money and assumed the things he said were true). When he came out Jason was having a difficult time unclogging my toilet and eventually said it was clear, but then sink was clogged and he changed a pipe underneath my sink without asking charged me a fee and left. Within hours of him leaving the front bathroom clogged, l immediately called him and he returned the next day. He looked at the pipes with a camera again and then said he saw roots and it would continue to clog if I did not have the pipe with the roots replaced then gave me an estimate of over 3000.000. He unclogged the drains and said it should last until I have the repairs he recommended. Needless to say, it clogged again after 4 weeks since his last visit. I called him last Friday evening and he said sorry but I can't come out I'm busy and can't unclog your drain until Monday, I was upset because I have given this guy over well over 2500.00 to 3,000 and he was cavalier as if I was bugging him. I then called Downey Plumbing, Heating and Air conditioning , it was an emergency and they came out immediately diagnosed the problem ,opened the clogged drain. They showed me where the roots were how the problem could be solved. They fixed the diagnosed problem of roots and charged me 1000.00 less than what Jason quoted to remove to root effected pipes and diagnosed the problem on the first visit. I've never written a yelp review but felt compelled to write this review because I was doped and was taken advantage of because I desperate to have the problem fixed. I spent well over $3,000.00 with this company and the problem could have been diagnosed months ago. I want consumers to be warned about Jason's predatory practice this company will take advantage of you. You get 1 star because you opened my drain but you took money, "misdiagnosed " the problem before you diagnosed the real problem. It real issue was not diagnosed until well after you gave me other reasons for the clogged drains and did unnecessary work. read more
