Although the internet hours showed that it was supposed to be open, we drove by and it was closed.

When we were shopping elsewhere in Door County and a local mentioned that their favorite supper club in Door County is Nightingale, we knew we were in for a treat. An indeed we were! In true supper fashion, we began our experience in the bar for cocktails. I was delighted to find a traditional old fashioned on the menu and so that's what I ordered. It was made with Woodford and in traditional style, no wash. It was pitch perfect. Once we transitioned to the dining room, we ordered whitefish cakes for an appetizer, which were served with a perfectly savory red pepper remoulade. They were delicious. Each evening they have a nightly special. We were there on a Wednesday. The Wednesday special is the Chef Special, which is the chef's choice of unique creation. The evening I was there was a pasta dish with a creamy pesto and a balsamic drizzle. It was divine. Throughout the evening, from the bar to hostess to the dining room, the service was lovely. The prices are very reasonable for a supper club and the atmosphere is all cozy candlelight. Get to it!

My friend ordered the Cubano sandwich and loved it, and another friend had the avocado toast with egg salad on sourdough, which was thoughtful, fresh, and elevated far beyond the usual café fare. The service was amazing...warm, attentive, and genuinely welcoming. This is way above average, intentional food made by people who truly care. Easily a must-stop in Door County.

Very cute place with some really interesting food with lots of vegetarian options but also lots of meat based dishes as well. I tried the Banh Mi and it was amazing. Its 5-spice marinated grilled pork, pickled daikon & carrot, cilantro, cucumber, Sriracha-lime mayo, on rustic roll. Lots of flavor and the pork was very tender and had great flavor. I also tried the soup of the day which was smoked ham with mushrooms and was very full of flavor. My wife ordered an Asian bowl with tofu and it was loaded with tons of fresh vegetables in a spicy asian broth. She loved it and it was served warm and was a huge serving. Very nice find and can't wait to go back in the Summer to check out the patio and the breakfast options.

We stayed in door County for a week and just so happen to pass this location. Let me start off by…read moresaying that supper clubs are a different monster than normal restaurants I believe this location is only open certain days during the week. Upon arrival we could see that the hostess or floor manager I am not sure which position she held was a little snappy and a little under pressure which of course is not the best way to start dinner. Upon sitting down after about a 20 minute wait we opened up our napkins and noticed that there was a hair and some dried or crusty food on a few of our napkins. The salt shakers look like they haven't been replaced since the creation of the facility however if I digress the food was very good and after being seated we waited for about 15 to 20 minutes before a server came to us but she was phenomenal once she took our table. We would try them again but I hope from a hygiene perspective they take a little bit more pride in cleaning the utensils and amenities throughout the restaurant

Seeing the ad coincided nicely with a planned Door County wedding anniversary day trip for my wife and I. It seems every time we visit Door County we are always traveling the west side of the peninsula. Mr. G's is on the east side and right on Hwy 57. This worked nicely in forcing us to drive south from Sister Bay with a focus on hitting Mr. G's. This place is definitely an old school Wisconsin supper club. Pretty certain the building hasn't had a full remodel in years and why would you when you have that classic look going on. Retro is coming back. So what makes a supper club. Sitting at the bar having an old fashioned or two. A cheese & cracker tray and in this case chips/salsa as well. A pre meal salad bar of course is a must for a true supper club. For our entrees we went with the full rack of ribs and the ribeye. My wifes steak was prepared just as ordered and had a hint of buttery goodness with each bite. They boast award winning ribs. They were fall off the bone tender with excellent flavor. The ribs come with two sauce choices (cherry flavor & original). I went with the classic and was pleased with the spice. My wife also ordered her entree with the potato pancakes which is not something always offered as an option. Our waitress Jean was attentive throughout and offered excellent input on the history of the restaurant and what to order. We had an excellent experience and may have to consider visiting the east side of the peninsula more often.
