This past Sunday we went to brunch at their wine tasting bar and lounge. So yummy! But what really struck us was what a wonderfully, welcoming environment it exuded. Finding a good beer store is hard to search for. When you're in a new place. You often just get places that serve beer...which is everywhere. If you're looking for a place to get cans of craft beer/wine/seltzer/cider to take camping with you: this is the spot! This is the best selection of beer we encountered anywhere in Montana, let alone in Billings! The staff were amazing. Genuinely helpful, genuinely knowledgable. We would be on a first-name basis if I lived in Billings...and it would probably take two visits before they remember my name. This place is the reason I'm able to live in Montana. My wife works in north east Montana and there's nothing more that we love than being able to drive out to Billings and stock up on our wine, pick up our club member bottles and have a nice little dinner in their restaurant. Everyone there has been extremely friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable about their products. In the restaurant, they have a wide selection of wines, both by the glass and bottle, along with great flight . Their food tends to lean towards lighter bites, but large portions of them and I haven't been disappointed by anything thus far, having tried most of the menu. On the wine shop side of things, they lean towards moderate and some higher end bottles, which is great if you're tired of grocery store wine. Having lived in a major wine region, this store/restaurant is a breath of fresh air. I highly, highly recommend read more

Where to begin?! This place does pretty much everything right. Awesome vibes for a date night or girls night out. Absolutely delicious drinks and wine. (Ask to sample the wine or beer you want before ordering!) but the food SO GOOD!! Super high quality and a rather innovative menu with unexpected flavors. The only item that missed the mark a bit was the pretzel beer cheese bites- I wish it was more cheesy and less mustardy. But still pretty good. We loved this place so much we went back the next day too. Service is great, staff are attentive but not overbearing. There's indoor and outdoor seating. Next to the restaurant is the showroom full of wine you can buy and also super fun shirts and wine gifts, cheese and meats! This place has it all! read more

If you like wine this is a good place to go. I enjoy the Old World wines, and they have a few. If you are in to New World wines, you will find a nice selection of reds and whites. The food compliments the wine nicely, and that's its purpose. The retail side has a nice variety of wines and food to go with the wine (cheese and processed meats). I'm a vegetarian by choice, and I have choices. The vibe is chill and enjoyable, and the staff is knowledgeable about wines, in case you're intimidated, just ask for help. This place is great! Nice atmosphere, wonderful staff (in wine bar and store), great selections of wine and beer, and an incredible menu of meats and cheeses. It's a great place for a date night, girls' night, or a Tuesday night with yourself. My only negative is the price of the meats and cheeses in the wine bar runs a little too high since I like to order all of the things, and it adds up super quickly. Everything is offered a la carte, and frankly, I wish they'd offer curated meat/cheese boards where you get what you get and the cost is more reasonable. Or at least include bread/crackers with a meat or cheese purchase. Something to bring down the cost a tiny bit. (And anyone who reads my reviews knows I never complain about cost!) However, prices on the store side are more reasonable and if you shop the sales/discounts you can walk out of there with some great stuff for reasonable prices. They are very knowledgable and helpful both on the wine bar side and the store, so go in and try something new! read more

This review is based on the brunch. The coffee was burnt drip coffee...they are literally connected to City Brew. It would only make sense that they would serve some other options. The food was fine. We got the breakfast naan and the Monte Cristo crepe. Nothing to write home about, but by comparison better than brunch at the local. The service is great, and the ambiance is fun. Rather than brunch, I would suggest going in the evening for wine and an overpriced cheese platter which they do quite well. read more

A friend and I discovered this store after stopping in to the City Brew coffee attached to it. A great selection and friendly accommodating staff are hiding inside! They were kind enough to invite us to come back for a wine tasting that was going to be held later that night, which was a nice touch. We came back and were treated to a lovely tasting from Grgich Hills. We were told that they are planning to have tastings more frequently this summer, so definitely recommend being on the look out for those! read more

I have been needing to add a review for not just weeks, but for months. I was trying to find the best way to describe City Vineyard and I came up with it being the equivalent of Cheers+Disneyland. It is the place where everyone knows your name and makes your dream come true. Plus, the chef must be magical because the deliciousness that comes out of the kitchen with the fresh bits and yummy ingenuity completely boggles my mind.
