They ruined my eyebrows. I'd give 0 stars if I could. I'm not usually one to write a bad review, but this was such a bad experience I don't want anyone else to go through the same thing. I went in to get my eyebrows waxed. They asked immediately if I wanted a pedicure too, and I said no thank you. The staff was incredibly rude after that. After a long wait, I was brought back to the "waxing room" that is a bench with random beach towels on it that were not changed between customers. I had a bad vibe at this point, but I had come this far and needed it done. Everything seemed to be straight forward with the waxing until I opened my eyes part way through and saw the gals fingernails were dirty, and she kept pressing her dirty fingers onto my freshly waxed skin. I had a horrible rash the next day. But worst of all... when I got home, it looked like a 4 year old did my brows with craft scissors!! I could have done a better job myself! I went to get acrylic nails removed and they ripped them off with nail clippers and I left in pain and bleeding and they charged me. At other places they drill and soak them off. Not to mention they cut the ones they did not rip off down so short there below my skin and hurt. I'm never going back and I advise you not to go, you will not leave happy. read more

My daughter and I went to City Nails recently while on a vacation to the Hood area for ski camp. We each had a gel manicure and I found the service and price to be great! My 8 year old daughter was originally disappointed with the color she selected (that was entirely her fault, not theirs). The nail tech was eager and quick to fix it! My nails needed some TLC, which was received. For a total of $51.00 for both of our gel manis, I thought that was super affordable! Will be back next year! Thank you! read more

I love coming to City Nails! I moved closer into Portland and I still drive out to Sandy to go to my lady here. They're fast, reasonably priced, very friendly, and have tons of colors to choose from especially for the powder dip manicure. I'm going today actually to have my nails done again! I was in yesterday and I had the worst experience EVER. I had asked for a full set (acrylics).. great, understood. The out come was terrible. I asked for super square, and all of them are uneven, not super square and super blotchy. I asked her to do another coat because you can see through the nails and she told me no. The nail polish and solar powder isnt even to my nail bed. It looks terrible. I am so desperate, I made another appointment somewhere else for today (Yes, not even 24 hours later) to take these off and get these fixed. Keep in mind, they over booked - there were 3 of us who were getting thrown around to different nail technicians and one other girl asked the nail tech to take her nails off because they werent what she wanted... another unsatisfied customer. BEWARE!!!! We were in town visiting family and since nail salons are still closed where we live in CA, we were excited to get a little pampering in. Everything started off okay for me and my mom but things quickly turned SHADY!!!!! The manicure/pedicure were mediocre at best (the two ladies were very nice-but mom's gal appeared to not know what to do, my gal had to keep telling/showing her). At one point, one of the shopping center's landscape guys came in with his work hoodie on, cinched up over his face and went in the back room with the man from the shop. It was just a curtain hanging so we heard everything!! The man told the yard guy to "deliver" some package and use his own truck, this conversation was weird and heated. They decided to take their argument outside to which my daughter who was in the car waiting for us overheard the screaming match at the curb over the apparent "delivery". Not sure what kind of "delivery" a nail salon owner needs a landscape guy to make, but it was really fishy and uncomfortable. When it came to pay, the gentleman, told me $175. I thought he was joking, but he was very serious. I repeated $175 laughingly and he again said $175, this went on a few times (it was NOT a language barrier), my mom heard it loud and clear too. Finally, the lady who did my nails held up fingers of 7, then 5. and I said that's better (mind you this was still too much according to their listed prices!). I went in for a Shellac manicure. I needed opi shellac as the cheap versions most places carry will not stay on my nails. They claimed up and down the gelish shellac was opi. They were trying to pull one over on me. I won't be back. The place is dirty as well. read more

Wow! What an amazing experience. From the minute you walk in the door you are greeted by Tony and Hannah who are super nice and welcoming. Hands-down the best pedicure I have ever had. The salon is clean and comfortable and super sanitary. Their products are amazing and their prices are even better. Their customer service is on point. They offer you water and wine. And you get yummy chocolate. I'm so glad my daughter recommended them to me. I just wish I would've found them three years ago when I moved here. read more

The man that was working treated my friend and I like crap when we initially got there. He started doing my friends acrylic and botched them so bad the other lady who was doing mine had to fix hers. I just had the most AMAZING time at City Nails. I was welcomed in by Tony and Hannah as soon as I came in the door....no wait even on New Year's Eve. I was brought a fresh hot cup of green tea as my feet soaked in anticipation of my deluxe pedicure. Which was over and above the BEST pedicure I have ever had! I then began my manicure with gel nails and again Hanna was amazing. She also did my eyebrows making sure to take in all of my worries and wants. This will definitely not be an only visit for me. I cannot state enough how attentive and caring Hanna was for me. I had her the whole time and she went above and beyond to ensure my satisfaction. My nails look horrible. It looks like I have shovels on the ends of my fingers. The acrylic is so thick he would've been able to do my nails 10 times with the amount of acrylic on them. I definitely will not go back. All he could say to me was oh those are the best nails ever. Not even close. And it took two hours. Yikes. They are really embarrassing. Avoid this place. I came in and asked for a gel refill - same color, same shape as what I came in with. First of all, the gentleman who started with me gave me ACRYLIC nails and not gel (I've had my nails done many times and have had acrylic before - I know the difference) then tried to argue with me when I said "uhm, that's not gel." They just slap gel color on top of acrylic nails and charge you for gel - what a scam. I should have refused to pay the $35 for gel, but I did. Then, when he shaped my nails, they were so uneven and poorly shaped when I spoke up about it, he had another tech step in to shape them. I came in with almond nails and left with them almost square. I consider having my nails done to be one of the few luxuries I afford myself as a very frugal person and this place was seriously a disappointment. Not what I wanted at all. read more

This shop does a careless and sloppy job. I wish I had not gone here. Nails were cut at various angles and some were also not filed properly, leaving a jagged tip. Cuticles were haphazardly trimmed, or not trimmed at all. Both the shop owner and an employee worked on my manicure/pedicure and both were equally bad! read more

The people there are very rude. Me and my daughter both got manicures and the woman only did one coat on my daughters nails. (We both got gel nail color) the person doing my nails was on his phone checking all the basket ball scores and texting his buddies. While I waited 2 minutes mid manicure for him to check his my daughter was getting finished up and I was then moved to her manicurist so he could finish his basketball business. He said the F word three times during our costly visit and on top of that I had to go into the bar next door to get cash because his machine was out of paper, then he had no change! While I was putting my daughter in her booster seat, the woman came around the corner with a new roll of tape. read more
