I am not updating this review simply because the money was refunded--we truly intended the purchase as a way to send our love to dear friends during a very difficult time. I wrote the original review a few days after I had already shared the mix-up with Carl via text and received no response. While this does not change what happened, I do want to acknowledge the care Sue showed in following up with me. It's clear that she genuinely cares about her customers. Would I consider ordering from them again? Maybe. IT'S A SCAM!!! I had a very disappointing experience with City Line Florist that I feel others should be aware of. I called to place sympathy flowers for a funeral at a church in West Hartford and spoke with Carl, who sounded like the owner. Initially, he was very pleasant and helpful. He suggested switching the arrangement from a spray to a basket in case the church did not have a stand, which I appreciated. He reassured me multiple times that everything would remain the same in color and style, except it would be placed in a basket--and even told me it would cost $30 less. I was extremely specific about the exact colors and style, as I selected the Eternal Grace Spray shown on their website. This arrangement is described as a mix of blue and white with light pink accents and greenery, featuring flowers such as hydrangea, roses, lilies, delphinium, snapdragon, and an elegant crystal cross keepsake. I repeated the color requirements several times to ensure there was no misunderstanding, and Carl reassured me repeatedly that the colors would match. When my friend later sent a thank-you note with a photo of the flowers they received, I was stunned. The arrangement looked nothing like what I ordered. I understand that some flowers can be seasonal, but this was not a minor substitution. The colors were completely different--red, yellow, and orange--and the flowers used were mostly mums, carnations, and roses, which felt like a much cheaper arrangement. To me, this was not just poor service--it was dishonest. I trusted their reassurance during a sensitive time, and instead received something entirely different. Sympathy flowers are meant to honor a life and offer comfort, and delivering something so far from what was promised felt disrespectful, not only to the customer but to the deceased and their family. I would not recommend City Line Florist based on this experience. read more

Absolutely stunning flowers, great customer service, and great delivery! I purchased flowers for my mom, and paid extra for them to be delivered at their early time slot. They met that delivery mark, and even called me while they were there delivering to say that they were there, and did not want to leave the flowers outside because it was 10° out and didn't want them to get ruined, so they wanted to make sure somebody could meet them at the door to get the flowers. I truly appreciated that that they wouldn't just leave the flowers there to get destroyed. They were very nice and professional on the phone, the flowers look amazing, and the delivery was great. Very impressed with their contactless delivery service during the pandemic. My usual florist is unfortunately temporarily closed due to the virus so I had to resort to a different florist. They advertised contactless delivery on their web site which was perfect because my aunt is elderly and I was concerned about her being in contact with anyone. They contacted her to let her know that the arrangement was at her front door. I got an email notification also when they delivered. I perused through a few other local florists' websites before choosing City Line. They had a really good selection on their website for colorful "just because" arrangements, and their prices are fair. I was wanting to send some spring flowers to cheer up my auntie who has been sad lately, and flowers always make her smile. I was looking in particular for an arrangement with some deep blues because that is my aunt's favorite color. I found their Touch of Blue Bouquet and chose the standard arrangement ($59.95 + tax). The flowers arrived in a beautiful, deep cobalt blue glass vase. The arrangement was simple, yet stunning. Several large white Lillies were in the center of the arrangement, and I was glad to see that a few of them were not yet open. My aunt will be enjoying the flowers for at least a week if not longer. There were some beautiful fragrant white roses, and blue hydrangea which had a hint of blue. I think the other white flowers are alstroemerias, and not sure what the bright blue filler flowers were. The fillers really added a pop of bright blue color to finish the arrangement. My photo does not do this beautiful arrangement enough justice, took a screen shot when my aunt was holding up the bouquet in a video chat. The bouquet is much larger than it appears in the picture. The hydrangea is a lot lighter blue color than what their website shows, but I was happy with what they put together. They do have a disclaimer on their web site: "Due to limited available of some flowers, we may need to make a replacement in some arrangements with similar stems. The spirit of the arrangement will be kept; some flowers & colors may vary." I appreciate them posting this disclaimer because there were no surprises, I expected the flowers to look a little different than pictured. I was satisfied with the final product. I am sure they have limited stock due to the pandemic. I think they did a fantastic job! read more

I called yesterday to have a local delivery made and I had no clue what I wanted. The gentleman that answered was very helpful. I knew that I wanted a plant vs flowers so he explained all of the different ones they had and offered some suggestions. I ended up going with the butterfly orchids and they are so pretty! I guess it's a flower but this FL girl wasn't thinking about the cold weather in CT and plantable plants aren't a thing right now hahaha The delivery was made super fast - couldn't believe it, maybe 2 hours. He explained that they would do 1 attempt and if not home, leave a note for the recipient to call to arrange a good time. The service at City Line Florist is the absolute finest. I ordered flowers for my 91 year old dad who was in ICU for a few days after a surgical procedure. Carl called me personally to let me know the flowers could not be delivered while he was in ICU but they would keep checking so they could be delivered as soon as he was out, and I received a confirmation email once they could be delivered. This is my second order after the first one for my mom who also needed surgery recently. Everyone coming into her room commented on the beautiful arrangement and how wonderful they smelled even from a distance.
