I don't enjoy leaving negative reviews but this place cannot be serious. I ordered a Pastel Party Bouquet for my wife for Mother's Day. It was her first Mother's Day, so I upgraded to the deluxe. With tax, delivery fee, and tip it was $161.39. The photos below show the STANDARD arrangement on their website versus the photo of what I actually received. I genuinely thought it was a joke. Sparse, small arrangement, unbloomed flowers, even the filler was substituted for a cheaper fern. The white vase? Nope. Gray plastic. This literally looks like something I could've picked in a field. I called that same day to let them know I wanted my money back. They told me the owner wasn't there. Monday I received a voicemail from the owner that she wanted to "set things straight." No apology. I called back 90 min later and was told she left early for the day but that she'd call me first thing tomorrow. Anticipating the call would be an offer to send me another arrangement, I informed them the only conversation I was interested in having was that she'd be refunding my money. Today came and went. No call. I'm disputing the charge. In my opinion this is borderline fraud. Will never use this shop again. Ordered through Newtown Florist, and the order was fullfilled by Rodier Flowers. They're owned by the same person so leaving a review for both. read more

I just placed an order on their website and paid for it with a credit card for today's delivery. It came to over $123 with tax and delivery fee. The flowers are to be delivered to a private home in Newtown. I later received an email from a completely different florist in Ridgefield that has very bad reviews basically saying they were fulfilling the order. What the heck is up with this bait and switch??? I just hope that these flowers which are a gift for someone recovering from surgery are a very nice arrangement based on what I'm paying for them. read more

I struggled with this one... the flower arrangements are beautiful and very reasonably priced. But if you plan to surprise someone with delivered flowers this is not the place. First time I ordered for my girlfriend they called and told her they were coming in an hour. Ruined the surprise. Second time, I asked them not to call and the delivery guy did it again! She's at work and they told her that they were dropping them off. Otherwise, great service and fresh, beautiful flowers. Don't give them the recipients number... and you'll probably be perfectly happy! read more

In fairness I did not speak to the owner, but the person I did speak to shocked me with lack of ability to understand. Not only will I never shop there- I would not encourage others to. I am saddened by my experience. And will not soon forget it. I gave them my budget. My credit card. They called back and told me the cost for 16 regular, plain roses with no greens and no vase to throw on a stone outside would be $79.80 and they would "waive" delivery fee of $40. (They were already going to the place with other flowers but that's beside the point). I went to the grocery store- got food for a week, flowers for my house plus all the flowers for the required event for $71. Missed the mark. Missed the mark completely. read more

Incompetence is an understatement, and the woman operating behind the desk is seemingly clueless? First, they advertised on their website next day delivery which never occurred. So upon realization by mid-day the order had not been delivered yet, the recipient called, (after pressing them to look it up in their "system"), she was assured the order would arrive that same day. By the end of that same day - after 4 pm, May 10th, the order did not arrive. So the recipient living locally drove down inquiring about delivery. They argued w/ her for awhile until they found the order slip which had somehow become lost or jammed in their printer.. ? (Nice system). So they attempted to correct the mistake by handing her a double orchid instead of the already expensive single orchid, to rectify the situation (a $20 difference). Great. But here's where it went more south, they failed to complete the CORRECT ORDER (which was clearly written on the order form that we both can see, minus the recipient who's the giftee and has no idea what the correct order was). Incompetence. So not only did they fail to complete our Order, but they charged me for a DELIVERY FEE that NEVER occurred.. NOT ONCE, but TWICE, totaling just under $200, for an orchid, and an 8 ounce thing of hand soap, to be delivered AFTER Mother's Day, as advertised; failed. Incompetence. The next day upon realizing they still charged for a nonexistent delivery, she went back there to grab the hand soap and request the money back, just to have them argue again, countering that they upgraded her orchid from a single to a double and that that should have resolved the problem. Really? So we're not going to pretend she just drove down to your shop twice based on incompetence? Can I just get some simple understanding, competence, and customer service skills without all the issues, arguing, phone calls; or is that just too much to ask for? We got them to agree to refund me the delivery fee money but have yet to see it refunded to my account a week later. My bank is taking care of the double charge. Also the owner was unavailable? So my question remains... What type of floral owner goes away on one of the busiest days in the year for their business? That being Mother's Day, Riight. I would go elsewhere to buy your flower orders or the recipient might have to go down there themselves to pick it up..Yikes. Update- the owner was adamant about correcting the mistake and I received a full refund a month later. So thank you very much for your cooperation! read more

What a nightmare! My boyfriend sent me something from Newtown Florist for Mother's Day. It was not able to be delivered on Mother's Day which was fine but it was promised to be delivered the next day, Monday. On Monday my boyfriend let me know that I'd be receiving something from the florist and that I might want to call to see when they would be delivering to make sure I'd be home. When I called, I provided all necessary information, including the order number, and a woman assured me that the order was out for delivery and would be at my house before 4:00 pm. I waited all day and never received anything. After getting my children off the bus at 4:00 I decided to drive down to Newtown Florist since they were no longer answering the phone at that point. When I got there, I told the woman I had talked to on the phone, as well as a man (the arrangement designer) that I has spoken with them earlier and the order was not received. At first the man argued with me and said that if there was an order placed, he would have it, and he did not. I told him that I had talked to the woman earlier and she told me that she found the order in their system and it was supposed to have been delivered. After going back and forth for some time, the woman determined that the order had not been printed out, and therefor was never actually out for delivery. That was the first problem. I thought it was solved when the man realized it was their fault that the order was never received. He saw on the order form that it was a live orchid that was supposed to be delivered, and he let me pick out a more expensive one to make up for the mix up. The orchid was beautiful and I left happy! I called my boyfriend to let him know that everything was straightened out and thank him for the beautiful gift. He then asked me if I had also been given the hand soap he ordered, but I had not! The next day I went back and the woman and a new man were behind the counter. I explained the hand soap situation and they gave it to me. I then mentioned that my boyfriend should really be refunded the delivery fee, since the order was never delivered, and I instead had to drive there twice, and they both argued with me, saying that they would have to ask the owner about that when she got back from Colorado in three weeks. To make matters even worse, my boyfriend also discovered that not only had he not been refunded the delivery fee a week after the incident, but that he had been charged twice for the order!! I can not begin to explain what a headache this was. When you order a gift from a business and expect it to be delivered to a loved one, you should be able to trust that will happen, especially when paying a premium fee. I will never give Newtown Florist my business, and I would never recommend them to anyone! Addendum: After three and a half weeks my boyfriend was finally refunded in full by the owner upon the return from her vacation. I can only hope that in the future the staff will be competent enough to handle an issue like this in the absence of the owner. No patron should have to wait weeks for an issue to be rectified just because the owner is not in town. read more

She walked me through the ordering process, gave me her professional advice, and we concluded the call with my utmost confidence that the proper arrangement was ordered. This florist made my daughter's graduation special. They heard our vision and created a lovely bouquet that honored my daughter's grandmother. The bouquet was colorful and certainly "popped". They added a wrist corsage to match at the last minute- and my daughter received so many compliments for that special touch. The team was tasteful, and professional and they brought a lot of joy to our day! The cost was reasonable as well. It was nice to talk to someone to place an order instead of using an online service. I live in san francisco, but my parents live in newtown so I order flowers several times a year to have delivered and they always find a way to accommodate me, even if the orders are placed same day! I do not live in the area, but needed an arrangement sent to a bereaved wife of a friend who did. I called and spoke with Chuck, who expertly helped me decide on an appropriate arrangement and greeting within my budget. I requested the arrangement be sent the next day, but apparently the recipient was not answering the phone that day, necessary to receive delivery. Chuck contacted me and I was able to confirm the phone number but was able to work with him to change the delivery address on the spot, and have them deliver to the church for the service on the same day, to be received by a friend. This is the epitome of customer service! He went well out of his way to accommodate my requests, and in a pleasant and professional manner. I highly recommend them! read more
