Flowers from the Farm was the first florist my parents and I met with for a consultation on my wedding flowers, and we knew right away that it was the right florist for us. Flowers are very important to us - I have a flower name (my mom loves freesias), and I took both floral arranging electives available to me as an undergraduate at UConn. I knew I wanted quality flowers for my wedding, and I wanted to incorporate freesias. Flowers from the Farm did a beautiful job, and Michelle was wonderful to work with. She took my Pinterest printouts and knew exactly what I wanted for my special day - even better than I knew myself! My bridal bouquet was gorgeous, and I couldn't stop looking at it or smelling it during our pre-ceremony pictures. My husband and the men in our immediate family had simple freesia boutonnieres; the ladies had white rose corsages; and we got centerpieces with white hydrangeas, Irish bells, and spray roses for our tables. The flowers exceeded my expectations, and the overall cost was very reasonable. I was able to meet with Michelle a few weeks before the wedding to look at a sample centerpiece and decide if I wanted to add anything to it. I ended up adding spray roses for just a little more than our original quote, and I was able to buy the sample, which I enjoyed in my apartment for a day and then gifted to a family member. The flowers were a beautiful part of a beautiful day. I am truly disappointed with Flowers from the Farm. On their website they proudly show pictures of various arrangements that apparently they offer. Well, what you actually receive is totally different. They have evolved over time to creating large bunches of greens and they throw in a couple of flowers. Now, for $60-$75 what I received was that large bunch of greens stuffed into a glass vase with a total of SIX flowers, 2 tulips, 2 roses and 2 daisies. You can hardly see the six flowers. I am sorry to say that this is not the first time this has happened. My entire family keeps going back, hoping that the last time they ordered was just an isolated occurrence. But it just keeps happening over and over. It's sad to say, but I think Flowers from the Farm has lost at least 8 loyal customers. I expected better. I ordered my flowers a month in advance for a graduation commencement and the morning of, they were not delivered. When I tired to reach them by phone, I had to call the shop 6 times until I got ahold of someone. They some how lost or misplaced my order and hadn't made the flowers, so they had to make them on a whim and the colors/flowers were not what I expected when i made the original order. To give them credit, they made two large arrangements day-of and delivered them promptly after I got ahold of them, and the person on the phone was very apologetic. It was an honest mistake, but I wish this mix up wouldn't have happened because I would have loved to see what they could come up with without throwing an arrangement together last minute. read more

However, the past several times that I have gotten flowers from them I have been less than pleased and very disappointed. On Mother's Day, I had purchased four $50 bouquets that looked like wildflowers and weeds. I thought this was a one time occurrence, blaming myself for being a last-minute customer on one of the busiest days of the year. A couple weeks later, my boyfriend purchased a bouquet for my birthday and had it delivered. This bouquet wilted within one day and was filled with mostly greens (too many greens for the amount of money that he spent $75+). This time, I called to complain and was sent a new, beautiful bouquet which was double the size of the original one and filled with healthy, blooming flowers. Just the other day, my boyfriend purchased another bouquet that he ordered directly from their website. Upon picking up the flowers, he expressed his disappointment to the staff and they discounted the bouquet by $10. The colors and types of flowers from the picture on the website was quiet different from the actual bouquet. These flowers also started to wilt after just one day. After these several experiences, it is time for us to find a new local florist. Very disappointing! read more

Flowers From The Farm created the most phenomenal cascading bridal bouquet packed full with blush and cream roses and pink and white peonies galore for my wedding last weekend. They also made nine blush rose boutonnières for my groom, groomsmen, pastor, best man and a mini version for my little ring-bearer. The flowers are still perfectly in tact, despite being tossed around and withstanding the humidity and heat of the outdoor photos all day long. The bouquet was a million pounds (as I expected it would be with so many flowers), but it was so well-constructed that I never felt like I was losing my grip. So many brides I know have had their cascading bouquets collapse mid-day because of the weight, but mine was incredibly sturdy. Michelle is the coolest and greatest mix of personable and down to earth and entirely professional. She knows her flowers! She made my vision not only come to life, but completely exceeded my expectations. I am SO thrilled. Also, compared to other florists I had inquired with; FFTM's pricing is unbelievably reasonable.
