0/10 would not recommend this place to anyone. I booked with Young Nail Bar for a full acrylic set…read moreand a pedicure. I was told they could do something similar to my reference photo which I was fine with. Instead of acrylic they did gel-x but I didn't say anything as I had assumed they were doing what they needed to do to provide me with something close to my reference photo. My nails were shaped and then i was told they didn't have the white color I requested but could do something close - which was a purple/silver color. I was fine with that but then when it came to doing the designs on my nails the girl who was working on me started using gel to create the designs and a man who I assume is the owner came over and redirected her to use gold polish to paint the designs on, so one hand had 3D gel designs and the other just flat polish. Half way through painting the designs on one hand they moved me to to the pedicure chair and the lady stood next to me with no light or anything and hand painted the designs which were super sloppy since they were done with her standing next to me and the UV lamp balancing on the chair armrest. She finished both hands of designs in 10 minutes, threw a top coat on and moved onto the next customer. At this point I noticed the designs were very messy but I really didn't want to make a fuss or cause a scene as there were so many people in there and decided I would reach out afterward when it was quieter out of respect for them. During my pedicure I noticed allot of gel built up under my thumb nail and several of my fingers to the point it was painful since it was pulling on my skin. I was unable to remove it, and there were customers in every seat as well as in the waiting area - trying to be polite and not make a fuss I finished my pedicure ( which was fine) and went to pay - the lady who did my nails could see they were not great quality and offered me $5.00 off my service so with the gel-x set and pedicure was a total of $230.00. After a while the nails were extremely painful from pulling on my skin, I went to Revive Nails Downtown. I just asked them to help me remove the excess gel to alleviate the pain - they took one look at them and were shocked at how badly the nails were done and were unable to remove the excess gel without removing the nails themselves. They removed the nails and did a fresh acrylic set for me that I LOVED. I didn't want to cause a scene with how busy Young Nails was and decided to message them on their website. I also gave them a call and explained the situation and asked for a refund for just the nails as they were not great quality for what I paid. they told me to come in and I could get my refund - once I got there the same man that rushed the lady doing my nails before informed me that since I had the nails taken off I couldn't receive a refund - although he could see there was way too much gel under the nails pulling at my skin from the photos I provided . So 130 dollars lost, and half my day. Do not go here, they rush their services to get as many people in as they can and don't really care about quality or detail. There are so many less expensive, cleaner, and kinder nail places in Kelowna. Revive nails downtown being one of them! Steer clear of Young Nail Bar ladies!

Just to note, I'm the type of person that finds the positive in everyone, but the young male (wearing ear buttons/earrings) nail-tech that did my nails, clearly made it aware that he did not want to be there; checking his phone regularly, not talking to me, nor making eye contact, just making rigid, impatient hand gestures. For starters, he filled the foot tub with scalding water, didn't trim my toenails, or fingernails, nor clean under and around each nail bed (I am an avid gardener and painter, so it was strikingly obvious). After the pedicure, he didn't guide me to the manicure tables (many were unoccupied), but proceeded to buff my nails standing close beside the massage chair I was sitting in. I couldn't quite position myself so as not to be uncomfortable (my elbow could only bend so much), while he gestured and expected me to suspend and hold my arm up. THEN he teetered the UV lamp on the side arm...which kept sliding down, so he grabbed my other hand so I could hold the top of it! -and no matter how it was positioned, it shone right into my face. It was so awkward trying to position myself to get each hand inside the lamp. This didn't phase him. In fact, what did phase him though, was the 'massage' chair, and he right away, leaned over me and turned the power button 'off'. Remember, he was continually checking his phone as well. Towards the end, as my hand was in the UV lamp, he walked away. No idea where he went for such a length of time. The UV lamp was not on a timer, so I didn't know how long I should leave my hand in there. Anyway, by the end, I was so frustrated, and thinking this was a total waste of my money, and then noticed a lady who he sat in a few chairs over from me, so I quietly mentioned to her...'don't have him do your nails, it was an awful experience.' She loudly answered me and said "YEAH! THAT"S WHY I AM HERE AGAIN! HE DID MY NAILS YESTERDAY AND IT WAS HORRIBLE!" !!! For the first time ever, I left no tip. He loudly spurted something in Vietnamese to the rest of the staff as he noticed the receipt, which I can only surmise what was said. Shame on him and that establishment. It should be shut down.
