I was impressed with the sushi
    Angel C.

Stopped at this restaurant in the middle of a long drive from Miami. Our journey had started early, so we didn't have a chance to eat breakfast so we were starving. We were excited to find a buffet, and though I must admit we were a little nervous of what we were gonna encounter. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The minute you walk in, you know, you're in for a treat. The place was really clean the staff was smiling and buzzing around.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]And the restaurant was very well lit, I love me a bright restaurant.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] There was all the delicious Chinese food plates. You would expect the sushi selection was fantastically extensive, even better, it was being made fresh and constantly being refilled. The water didn't taste gross which is a big + for me living in Florida. The prize for lunch was under 20$ This was a pretty good experience. Some of the plates could have been a little warmer, and I did saw a kid helping himself to some ice cream, using his bare hands, but one may argue that was the parent's fault, not the staff. In general, I would recommend it, made these 3 weary travelers very fat and happy.

Updated to add -- we are frequenting this place a lot. It is consistently delicious! Their krab rangoons are unlimited pockets of heaven.

The food? mostly dry. The service? actually pretty quick. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The ambiance? on par for a Chinese buffet at 3 in the afternoon.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The jello? Flavorless, colorless, amazing

My bf's mom wanted to try this spot so we took her there along with other family members. We went for an early dinner. There is ample seating space inside and many buffet stations to explore. Our server was friendly and brought us refills of beverages and cleared used plates. There is a great selection of food here. I started at the sushi area. The sushi is decent, nothing outstanding, but not bad. They have your usual selection of basic rolls. The hot foods offered a lot of variety. There were hits and misses. I thought the beef and broccoli was pretty good. The fried fish was really yummy. Some of the chicken dishes I also enjoyed. It was sometimes hard to tell the names of dishes depending on which side of the buffet you were on (it would be great to see labels on both sides). Overall, I really felt there was good food at a very reasonable price and I would return. It's not the best, but it's always fun to experience different foods at a good price point. My realistic review is a solid 3.5, but I didn't round up to 4 because the bathroom was not very clean or well stocked. That's always important in my opinion, so I'd love to see that improved.

Assorted bites from half the dinner section lol

This meal brought me heavy nostalgic vibes considering growing up the Chinese buffet in town was always a fun family dinner experience. City buffet was exactly how I imagined it would be and perhaps even better. We didn't try the hibachi section they had which next time I will have to try, nor the sushi though it did like appetizing. The standouts for me had to be the fried prawns and the fried whitefish. Some items tasted like frozen foods fried which I expected and other items were a little on the dry side but ultimately I had 2 plates plus's a dessert plate with fruit I forgot to snap a pic of. I'd recommend coming for lunch (before 3:30) to save a few bucks but for $16 a person I can't say I felt ripped off. Soda was an extra charge but they also still had "sierra mist" instead of Starry hehe (at least on the receipt). Service was incredible, whenever either of use finished a plate they would swiftly remove and clean the spot plus refill any beverages. I'd like to go back again and try the sushi along with the hibachi section, but overall it brought me back to my childhood growing up with nearly identical food options and flavors, and for that I suggest a meal if craving some american chinese grub.

Unfortunately, one customer service policy completely ruined what could have been a perfect dinner. We got there just before the dinner rush, so we expected a wait. My husband and I both worked in the restaurant industry for years. We know what it's like when the kitchen gets slammed, and we had absolutely no problem being patient. About 30 minutes later, our food came out, but we were missing two pieces of octopus sushi and the freshly ground wasabi we paid extra for. We told the food runner right away. We didn't think it was a big deal. These types of mistakes happen all the time at restaurants. About 10 minutes later, the wasabi showed up, but still no octopus. We asked again and were told it was coming. Another 15 minutes went by. We were really enjoying everything else, so we figured we'd order another roll while we waited. Over the next 20 minutes, several employees stopped by our table to ask how everything was, and every single time we mentioned we were still waiting on part of our order. That's when one of the servers explained that the missing octopus had gone to the back of the sushi line and we'd have to wait our turn because that was their policy. I'm sorry... what? This wasn't something we decided to add later. It was part of our original order that never made it to the table. A mistake should never go to the back of the line. The part that really didn't make sense was that the second roll (the one we ordered 25 minutes later) came out BEFORE the missing octopus. So if everything is truly made in the order it's received, how did that happen? After working in restaurants for so many years, I can honestly say I've never seen a place handle a missed item this way. If part of an order gets forgotten, you make it immediately and complete the table's meal. You don't tell the customer to keep waiting while every new order gets made first. At that point, we didn't even care about the octopus anymore. It was the principle of it. Instead of simply fixing the mistake, we were expected to accept it, and when we questioned it, we were basically told, "That's our policy." Maybe the waitress forgot to ring it in. Maybe management really does expect forgotten items to go to the back of the line. I honestly don't know which is true, but neither one is a great answer. It's such a shame because the food really was excellent. We walked in excited to find a new favorite sushi restaurant. We walked out disappointed, not because of the missing octopus, but because of how the situation was handled.

Only like 3 diners were there when we arrived (it was mid afternoon), so lots of open seating. We were able to sit at the bar. Greeted right way. Will say they have a very extensive menu. Decent selection of sushi & other types of dishes. Our server was pleasant. We started with their daily deal which was Crispy Tuna and edamame as well. Came out pretty quickly after we ordered. The Crispy Tuna was served not as we expected. It was more rice cakes (pancake style shape if you will) not what we are accustomed to which generally is a Square Musubi Press. They were good, but would have preferred them the way we generally order it. Edamame was tasty, but hard to mess that up. Rolls: they are pretty small to be honest and squeezed so tightly (with not enough of outer rice) they sat up high and didn't take on the plump desirable shape. When a sushi roll (maki) is rolled and pressed incorrectly with a bamboo mat, the cylindrical shape gets squished and inevitably turns into a aesthetic effect that looks off, which in my opinion shows here. Plus, very thinly sliced rolls. 4 rolls we ordered: Naruto Roll, it was refreshing & liked the cucumber in place of the seaweed wrap. Beauty & Beast Roll, came together well with the black tobiko & masago. Waterfall Roll was good, but would have liked some more heat (heaver on the jalapeños) and finally the Black Pearl Roll which was decent with the black tobiko on top! Throughout of dining experience the sushi chefs were preparing other dishes on the menu to fill orders, but also pleasant & engaging as we watched them make our orders and those others too. Leo and Micah were friendly, not so much the only female employee. She gave off some negative vibes. Never said a word to us & acted like we were not even there! Believe her role may have been in the kitchen, but she was out on the floor (for most of our time there) talking to Leo primarily. Kitchen cleanliness is key and by looking thru the open space (to the backs of sushi chefs) she really needed to focus more of her attention there instead of projecting conversations out front to the busy staff. Meaning that sanitation and environmental hygiene is a mandatory practice that needs constant attention & customers may observe or question those things when not tending to the task. I'm addressing this in the most important and nicest way possible! Everything we ordered was fresh and tasty. Not the best sushi restaurant we've been to, but definitely sufficed for our craving. Ended our meal with their fried ice cream which was delicious. Note- Do not believe they have any happy hour specials. No Kizami Wasabi available here. They feature a few lower costs options for lunch. Additionally, they have hibachi, teriyaki and ramen also!

The cocktails I selected were not all that strong, but they were visually appealing. I absolutely loved the Buffalo Rock Shrimp. It had the perfect amount of spicy kick. We ordered an additional one since it was such a hit. The edamame is addictive. The only dish that fell flat for me was the Coco Roll. Nothing special really. Our server Lucy was hardworking and provided stellar service. She guided me to try their rośe sake, Amabuki, which was beautifully light, crisp and smooth. Lucy had us laughing and feeling good. We would love to be served by her again. This location is artistically styled inside with eye-catching Asian touches. It gets busy and ends up being somewhat noisy, but we could still hear each other at our corner table. The intimate lighting creates a sophisticated aura. Their happy hour is one of the best in the area, with a fantastic selection of sushi, small plates, and handcrafted cocktails at great prices. Everything we ordered was delicious, beautifully plated, and tasted incredibly fresh. Some of our favorites were the crispy sushi tacos, which had the perfect crunch and were topped with creamy avocado, fresh herbs, and flavorful sauces. The bao bun was soft, fluffy, and packed with tender, savory meat and crisp pickled vegetables. We also tried several sushi rolls, including spicy and fresh fish options, and every bite was well-balanced and high quality. The tuna dish was exceptionally fresh and melted in your mouth. The cocktails were just as impressive--creative, refreshing, and beautifully garnished. They're definitely worth trying during happy hour. It was the perfect spot to enjoy drinks with friends while sharing a variety of dishes. The atmosphere is modern, stylish, and sophisticated while still feeling comfortable and casual. It's ideal for date night, girls' night, or a fun evening out. The staff was welcoming, attentive, and knowledgeable, making the entire experience even better. Overall, Sushi Pop delivers outstanding food, excellent drinks, beautiful presentation, and exceptional service. We had an amazing experience and will definitely be back. Bayridge Sushi is one of my local favorite sushi spots to visit!…read more I typically venture to the Longwood location. As it is the closest location to Casselberry. Having been on a handful of occasions, each visit, I am left quite satisfied and happy with not only the service provided, but just the general quality of the food. The restaurant is very beautiful inside - which is a lovely surprise because the exterior is very unassuming. It is infused with cultural decor that leaves you feeling like you have been transported to Japan! So, kudos to the designers!! Now, prior to diving into the food and drinks, I just quickly want to note, there is ample seating indoors. Even with the exterior being so unassuming, it is a quite spacious restaurant. They have banquet seating as well as booth seating. But I digress. Time for the FOOD REVIEW!! Now, the food here, or rather, the sushi, is just DELISH!! I will admit, I haven't tried other dishes from their menu beyond their sushi. Speaking of, the MENU here is MASSIVE! If you don't want sushi, you can definitely order other entrees as they offer bento boxes, bowls, and various other dishes. The price points are great and they also have lunch specials. As for the sushi options I typically indulge in, I stick with the tempura shrimp options. Sometimes I do their speciality rolls and other times I will indulge in their staple rolls. Even though I don't eat a ton of raw sushi (still training my palette for it), I have enjoyed the few raw sushi rolls I have tried. The drinks are also super tasty! My first visit, many months ago, I got their Thai Tea. I also got a matcha!! Both were lovely!! They have a really good non-alcoholic and alcoholic drink menu. Again, the pricing is reasonable pending what you order. The desserts here are BEYOND GOOD! On my most recent visit, I tried their green tea tiramisu and it was really good. Not too sweet and not too earthy (even though I am not opposed to earthy). All in all, I always have a top notch experience here! The staff are great and attentive. There's a decent amount of parking and wait times are usually not super long - even during their peak hours. If you have visited this restaurant, please do!
