Past Resident Here! Sad I had to say goodbye to this place! Was a resident for almost 3 years and was a little nervous about getting close to a downtown living life style. Meeting Khadijah the property manager on the first walk of the property sold me instantly and from then on I never questioned my decision of moving in and calling Citron Apartments home. The convenience of the shopping complex directly across the street to the short commute to where I worked requiring me to never touch a freeway was superb! For those young adults who also want a night life gave you the ease of the night life being far enough to not conflict with one's living and close enough where Ubers and Lyfts cost nothing. Due to career changes had to cut my great stay here and only because of work. If I could resign over and over and over again I would! Thank you Citron for a great 3 years, you will be missed! From the moment I moved into Citron Apartments, I felt like I had stepped into a slice of heaven. The entire experience has exceeded my expectations. The team here--especially Khadijah and Renee--is absolutely incredible. They are warm, professional, and genuinely make you feel like a VIP. The maintenance team is just as amazing: kind, responsive, and always helpful. The property itself is immaculate. I love taking walks around the complex just to get my steps in because everything is so well-manicured, peaceful, and incredibly clean. Walk-in and took a tour of available apartment units. The office lady was very helpful and kind and showed us multiple units. The apartment itself is very new, vibrant, quiet, and very nice. an honest review - some pros and cons: Pros: - the hot tub is GREAT and rarely used, in the winter months we took advantage of its proximity and went multiple times a week! twas so fun - proximity to Trader Joe's/movie theater cannot be beaten, I loved just being able to walk across the street and grab a quick bite/go grocery shopping - the gym is really nice! - we love bernie - sometimes they throw taco parties + have raffles (so fun!) - appliances are new + in unit washer/dryer! - property is well maintained Cons: - we had ants in our apt for months, maintenance never came to fix it and we just ended up buying a lot of raid - but did you know they charge you a monthly fee for pest control? - this is a trend - maintenance requests are not honored in a timely manner, often forgotten, almost always late. We did not have many problems, but when we did, we had to follow up multiple times to receive a response - this is not really an apt issue but no one picks up after their dogs at the dog park... it is a little gross - this is also not really an apt issue but they could increase their security, things got stolen from our balcony because the area is not the safest. - also not an apt issue but if you are a sensitive sleeper: train tracks on one side of the apt, a busy street on the other + cars race down that road late at night and for some reason a lot of loud verbal altercations happen on that main road (probably a con of being so close to the movie theater/restaurants) - when it rains the main gate breaks and they just prop it open (security issue) - a few times when it rained, they didn't prop the gate open and we had to find street parking because this gate would not open/there was no one to contact Overall, i did really like living here and being so close to the cool riverside things :') and would recommend, but I feel that the rent is high (and according to some neighbors they raise the prices annually) so just wanted to provide a *full picture* of the pro/cons of what you'll be getting for your money read more

A very nice place to live with excellent features including a hot-tub, pool, lounging areas, and gym; all of this located just minutes from down town riverside. Horrible apartment complex situated behind the dumpsters at the movie theater, so many homeless people that the complex is designed as a cage yet still they get homeless people washing themselves in the hot tub. So expensive and they call it "luxury" this is apartment complex is uninviting, defensive management, lazy maintenance. Blech! Thank god we only signed a 6 month lease and got out of there! read more

What can I say about this place, so much noise yes they are very nice apartments but the train runs too often and this was not mentioned when I first applied and did the tour. I am ready to move asap. Some of the construction is not done constantly banging noise just noise 24/7 and don't forget about the club that parties on Wednesday night and Friday through Sunday night and yes you can hear the loud music, just too much noise for me and don't leave your window open for air, so much regret. read more

I've been living here for about a year now and I am really enjoying my time. The amenities are really great and the manager, Khadijah, is so friendly and knows my name and unit by heart! Bernardo, head of maintenance, is also really friendly. He waves every time we cross paths and is a joy to talk to, not to mention how quickly he responds to any request. I really like how much effort they put into keeping the complex clean, they actually just started power washing the halls! It is important to note that these apartments are not cheap, but I do feel like the price is somewhat justified due to everything that is included. The appliances are really modern and clean, the floor plans are beautiful, and the location is incredibly convenient. They even host social events from time to time with free food and giveaways (one of which I won!) and I hope they do more in the future! In terms of the noise, the only complaint that I would give is that sometimes people are loud in the lot south of the complex (note that I live in one of the units that faces south, away from the train tracks so I barely notice a train going by) but that is out of the management's control. The only thing I haven't been satisfied with is that they charge outrageous prices to reserve some of the amenities, which I am already paying for in my lease. I might be able to justify a small payment as well as any cleaning fees, but the rate they have now is incredibly high. Everything else, so far, has been a great experience and I plan on staying for a while! read more

Please reconsider before moving here. The management team is very shady and not that helpful when it comes to certain issues. From June of last year management has changed 3 different times. There's no reason for you to be nice to them and vise versa because they'll likely be gone before your lease ends! From maintenance issues not being addressed to the lack of respect for your time, I'm so happy that this apartment is in the past for me. The current manager Khadijah is by far the worst. She's not professional, rude, lazy, and not understanding at all. We were charged accelerated rent because we failed to give a 30 day notice that we were going to move out. I explained to her that we were first time renters and students and all of this was new to us. She didn't care and just told us to basically suck it up and deal with it. I called REMM management and they were more forgiving and made some accommodations. I scheduled a move out inspection time with her and on the day of the inspection she wasn't in office. We were moving out of state so it wasn't possible for us to wait till Monday to see her and do the walk through. We took extensive documentation and hoped that we wouldn't be charged anything absurd because we weren't there to fight it. Come 3 weeks later and we get our final invoice and they had the audacity to charge us $260 for cleaning. Mind you that we had left this apartment cleaner than when we got it. I spent so much time cleaning every single nook and cranny of this unit and I still get hit with a cleaning fee. However that isn't the managers fault. That's the head of maintenance Bernardo's fault. He may seem like a nice guy at first but they know how to take advantage of you once you can't argue with them. People who live here are also very questionable. They throw trash anywhere but the trash bins. Whether it's on the floor next to the bins, on top of the lid of the bins, it's seriously so disgusting. People also don't pick up after their dogs. I've seen the entire turf covered in poop. The only nice thing about this complex is the location and how new everything is. But besides that, you're living with inconsiderate people who can't clean up after themselves and condescending management and maintenance who will do anything to milk you for money at the end of the lease. If I could do everything over I would've rather lived elsewhere. Oh don't forget that the train track are so loud. I also believe that management specifically schedule appointments and tours around times where trains aren't running through. Very smart of them but once you're laying in bed and you hear the trains running through at 2am you'll start to have second thoughts. read more

Let me start off this review by saying DO NOT LIVE HERE. If you're reading this, you're probably apartment searching and trying to find out whether citron is a good fit for you. Or you're management, and in that case, don't give me your template response and tell me to reach out because you guys never resolve anything. You should probably go redirect your efforts to try and fill all those vacant units :D Within the span of 10 months, there have been 3 different managers. The new one has the worst attitude out of them all. Do not let the pretty pool or amenities fool you. Management here is a total pain in the ass to communicate with. When we first moved in, management claimed that the apartment had been cleaned prior to our move in day. However the floors were horribly dirty and took more than 5 cleanings to feel somewhat clean. There were scratches and dents here and there, which was odd for it being a brand new unit. We also had to ask for information regarding the front gate, trash, utilities, etc because nothing was given to us. But we ignored these things and didn't complain because we wanted to be good tenants and have a good time. Management also started using a towing company made up of really aggressive and rude employees. Just take a look at their Yelp and you'll see all that you need. Citron clearly doesn't care about its residents to be working with a company with such horrible reputation. We nearly got towed once for leaving the car for literally less than 2 minutes to grab something from upstairs, despite there supposedly being a 15 minute grace period. There are a bunch of other residents who also had bad experiences with this towing company. A few months after we moved in it seemed like management stopped caring about keeping the common areas clean. The pool, chairs, tables, and gym were usually dirty, unlike when Citron first opened. Not to mention a lot of the residents don't have common decency to pick up their dog shit or clean up after themselves in public areas. Moving out was a complete nightmare as well. Management will try to squeeze out every last penny from their residents to make up for the fact that half of their units are vacant. They claimed that they did us a courtesy of leaving a note on our door two months prior to our move out date to remind us to let them know we are really moving out on our move out date on the lease... as if a signed contract wasn't enough? They claim that they wrote that on the notice, but they clearly didn't because if we saw "Let us know you're moving out or we're going to charge you" we would've let them know... because why would anyone willingly pay extra... many other residents have also dealt with this problem when moving out. Management also gave us a hard time with the final inspection check in. We scheduled a day with them, only to find out day of that no one was able to do the walk through with us. We had arrangements to go out of town so we couldn't stay any longer and wait. It took them nearly 1 whole month to get us the final bill. We got charged a cleaning fee even though we cleaned the entire apartment from floor to ceiling and took videos and photos proving so. We tried to schedule a meeting with management to go over the charges and get them removed, and they were supposed to call us but never did. Reaching out to corporate also didn't help because they're also useless :D Yes, all apartments have their flaws and there will always be people who complain or rave about a place. But seriously save your money and time and find another place to stay. Not to mention these apartments are SO expensive?? We're not in LA or Irvine so why the actual F is a small 700 square foot POS with no balcony 2500+ a month?? BFFR.. anyways so glad to be done with Citron because management is a complete pain. read more

And during our tour disclosed all the noise issues that were due mostly to the train, which is just a subtle rather calm noise after the engine passes, not a big deal in my opinion . We love all the amnimities the place comes with, and the heartfelt welcoming we received from management. We are now keeping our fingers crossed that we get acceptance threw the application process. I was shopping at Riverside Plaza and saw these new apartments with a cool brick design across the street! The buildings look stunning. I went in and talked to the leasing agent, and they were very professional and nice. The manager, Noah, was very welcoming and answered all my questions. He took me on a tour and these apartments look and feel like a luxury home, and not your typical apartments you find in Riverside. I'm definitely coming back when my current lease is up. read more

Don't let the pretty office or amenities fool you - they leave the rest of the 100+ unit property generally neglected. They've failed to keep common area's clean for months now, did not disclose multiple property defects prior to move-in, deliberately put tenant safety at risk by allowing aggressive Pitt Bulls to move-in against their own stated pet policy, homeless bathing in the hot tub/spa as well a checking for unlocked doors to access inside the "secure" areas of the property. When you add that the property sits next to extremely busy train tracks with noise levels similar to a commercial jet landing in your bedroom, the rattling and shaking of the building all day and night, you have to wonder how a city ever allowed the apartments to be built. Yes, they've built with some sound proofing that's somewhat effective - as long as you never EVER open your windows. Alma and Bernie seem to do their best, but apparently they can do little without "corporates" express permission. Corporates business model appears to be highly bonus driven with a hyper-profit focus that couldn't care any less about their tenants - that pay well above average rents. Unfortunately, there's not a zero star option. read more

Do not move into these apartments! Very pretty on the outside but the office people don't do anything to help tenants... nor does the maintenance guy do anything except walk around with coffee in his hand! We moved in when it first opened almost 6 months ago it's a new complex so we get there's kinks to work out! We didn't say anything when the fire evacuation alarm goes off every week early mornings so the whole complex has to evacuate.... We get those are kinks of a new complex. Alma in the office doesn't do anything at all! She makes you feel like your imagining your things being broken! Our fridge hasn't worked right for 6 months! Our gate stickers don't work we can't even get Amazon deliveries without issues! Neither has our dishwasher we have put in multiple work requests and nothing is done it's always a excuse they have to wait for the warrantee company blah blah. They never come!! Now it's been 6 weeks and our AC leaks water all over our floor notified Alma the very first day and submitted a work order still not fixed! Our little girls room is right next to the AC unit she has Asthma and has been coughing for the last couple weeks ! And yes we have taken her to the Dr multiple times she is on more medication now and also now has to sleep in our room to see if it helps! I'm concerned about mold under the floors! We have to keep a high powered fan on the spot to try to dry it out or not run our AC in a California summer!!! Multiple attempts to get something done and still nothing! Then the homeless come and hang out in our lounge areas and the pool area and nothing is done. We were told there's security and nope nothing the residents have started giving the homeless money for food and stuff just so they can take their kids swimming. Nothing is ever cleaned outside the stairs are now sticky with things being spilt and when you walk on the stairs your foot prints are left behind because of all the dirt that has not one time been cleaned off. Like I said the maintenance guy just walks around with a coffee in his hand all day! I lived in Another complex for over 4 years never had issues like this!! Ever! We have actually talked about moving back to our other place!! Can't wait for our lease to be up here!!! They lie. Lie. Lie to get you into a lease. We are in the process of filing a complaint regarding our AC ! We have sent the manager of the complex multiple photos proving all this and still NOTHING IS DONE. Emails stating all these problems. NO RESPONSE AT ALL. Do not move here!! The location is great but the office staff are horrible!!!! And nothing is ever done !! And trust me a whole lot of tenants are complaining about the same things! read more

When there is a problem, I can ALWAYS count on Bernardo; who is my building maintenance supervisor, and now Travis to come and solve or oversee the problem. The thoughtfulness was really appreciated.
