We were walking around Patriot Place killing time before the concert, and after looking at the menu outside, we decided that this was probably the best choice for us. Little did we know, due to it being an event day, the menu becomes more limited to handle the influx of people. We originally intended to get the Margherita half sheet but as that was not available, we chose to try out the 'Ono. For how many people were around Patriot Place, there wasn't that many dining in at Citizen Crust when we got there. We were seated immediately though, so that's nice. I liked the vibe of everything, and maybe I would like this place more without everything else going on, but once the pizza came out... I don't know. Our pizza wasn't cooked consistently. One side is very clearly more cooked than the other, which was pretty doughy in comparison. The 'Ono iteself was a bit too sweet for us. I don't mind pineapple on pizza, but with this really sweet bbq sauce? Not super great. Nothing else came through besides the sauce. Cutting pizza with scissors was a new experience. I liked that I can do so because I can get the slice and size I want. For the half sheet, it was filling for 3 people, but none of us were really fans of the pizza, so not as much appetite. read more

As far as pizza goes, Citizen Crust is top notch. It's different than other pizza first and foremost. It comes out in this rectangular sheet pan. There is more than enough to feed three people. You're also given scissors to cut your own pieces, which is kind of cool. The crust is flavorful. I'm not sure if there's cheese in it or something, but it taste better than most pizza crust. Another great night at Citizen Crust! My husband and I had dinner and drinks and, as usual, loved the food and service. Mackenzie was our bartender and she was fantastic--friendly, attentive, and totally on point! Only a couple of small things: For a restaurant/bar at Patriot Place with TVs everywhere, only being able to watch one game is a little crazy, especially when there are multiple games going on. After visiting family north of Boston, I got had a craving for pizza and remembered we had a good experience here. Our last visit was about fifteen months ago, so it's been a while. Located in the large Patriots Place complex, full of shopping and many restaurants, it can be a bit of a walk from the parking area. The exterior and interior are just as we remember. A hostess greeted us at the door and sat us immediately with menus. Menu is the same as last visit. Lots of Asian and Mexican influened dishes along with pizza. Menus are a hard cover, book style and the pages are showing their age. We got two half sheet pizzas. Each can easily feed four people. The mozzerella on the Margarita was rubbery this time around. That may happen because of hot 'pizza oven' temps or it could just be low quality. I reheated some left overs on low heat and the cheese did melt OK and had less of a rubbery texture. The crust is thick and crisp on the bottom. The tomato sauce is sweet. The second pizza was a buffalo chicken. It was plenty spicy, lots of cheese, nice drizzle. Not much chicken. My friend and I decided to stop here before our movie. I've been but it was her first time. We both loved all the Christmas lights and decor! We both ordered (3) wings because we wanted different flavors. The size was perfect and served on a cute platter with ranch. We also ordered a half sheet of cheese pizza but it took a while. We had both had a long work day and were hungry, eyeing every table by us getting food delivered. Our server Rebecca (she was so sweet) informed us that something had happened with the ticket in the kitchen and apologized. The manager, Nick, also came over to apologize and said they would get one made asap since we had to get going. The pizza was out in the next few minutes and we were able to catch the movie on time! We weren't charged for the pizza which I thought was a nice gesture and will definitely make me want to return again. Dinner for four one cold evening. Place was not too busy and it was trivia night. Lots of families with older children having pizza. We started with fries loaded with steak, guacamole, and loads of tasty stuff. Really loaded and fries seem to be hand cut and thick. We each had a different dish - i had the butter chicken with jasmine rice, butter chicken and sauce and a few pieces of naan. Good flavor, tasted authentic like good Indian food. My daughter had a spicy Korean sandwich, which was not very Korean spicy, just okay. Son had some type of short-rib dish which he liked and MDW had a chicken shawarma w a salad. Nope. If you're a pizza lover, this ain't it! My husband and I ordered a half sheet of the citizen pie: hot honey, cupped pepperoni and random dollops of ricotta scattered on top. I assumed the hot honey would be drizzled on top but it was baked into the pizza, which was also lacking cheese. This combination along with the thick dough tasted like I was eating spicy bread. Very disappointing as I was hoping for ooey gooey cheesy pizza! They give you scissors to cut the pizza, which is cool so you can pick the size of your slice but don't let this gimmick fool you! I don't know the area but I'm sure there is better pizza around. Can't say I would recommend it from here :( read more

We also really appreciated the accountability they took when our to-go order was accidentally given to the wrong customers as the owner refunded us without hesitation for the inconvenience. First impression, place was filthy(food and debris all over the floor). We got two adult meals and 3 kids meals. Adult meals were good, kids meals not so good. Pizza for kids meal was terrible, just thick dough with no taste. The kids meal also came with sliced apples that they could not eat because they're soaked in juice (lime I think), to keep them from turning brown. Who does that? The food was great and the staff was beyond excellent. I have a son who is autistic and non-verbal. He is obsessed with pizza and bolted to a neighboring table. He grabbed a corner slice from the couple's pizza before I could grab him. I, of course, offered to replace the pizza. The couple was rude regardless. I informed our server that I would pay for a replacement pizza. She told me management had already take care of it. Thwir kindness and grace after the graceless response of the other customers has earned a loyal customer. Booked a reservation for 10 including 4 kids when they opened yesterday and knowing they have a mix of high tops and regular tables I was sure to call out that a high top was not an option. They acknowledged the request and said no problem. Dinner time roles along and of course they try to sit us at a high top and a regular table for 10 wasent available. 40 minutes after reservation time we finally were sat at an adequate table. As for the food - it was a mixed bag as the pizza was under cooked but the wings were quite good. Unfortunately we weren't visited by our waitress after receiving our drinks until about 40 minutes later when the food was (finally) ready. She forgot the kids drinks and when we asked she had a pretty fake apology and said she was busy. I have to say that I am impressed with the service and food from this place, especially on a concert night. We went before the P!nk concert and got in right before the line of 30 people started. We shared a table with two strangers since it was a 6 top. I ordered the sesame noodle bowl topped with carne asada. The bowl was the perfect size, incredible flavor and the steak was a 10/10. I wasn't expecting such great quality from a place that cranks out so many meal but it was fantastic. My wife had the garlic Parmesan chicken sandwich and loved it. This was my second visit, and unfortunately, my opinion hasn't improved. I really wanted to like this place, but the pizza just misses the mark for me. The crust is overly thick and chewy--not in the artisan, wood-fired way, but more doughy and tough than enjoyable. Each slice felt overly heavy, and not in a satisfying way. I ordered the pepperoni with ricotta and hot honey, which sounded great on paper. But the execution was lacking. The hot honey wasn't drizzled as expected--it tasted more baked in, which took away any punch it could've added. The pepperoni slices were tiny and sparse, and the ricotta was just a single uninspired dollop per slice. At over $40 for a pizza, I expected much better quality and balance. There are definitely better options in the area for that price point. Ultimately, it feels like style over substance here--and for me, that's just not worth a return visit. read more

Imagine you listen to a song or piece of music that is very profound/meaningful. It is a combination or notes and/or words that speaks directly to the very core of your soul. Because of how much you love it, at this point you have listened to it dozens if not over a hundred times. The song is still the same, but after all this time, it no longer brings a tear to your eye like it used to. So, you see, this is my very first experience not just with Citizen Crust, but with Roman-style pizza as a whole. While I do have some critiques (don't I always?!) I was wowed. Who knows, maybe I will try this style a from a dozen places three dozen times, and discovery that Citizen Crust is just mid... In the meantime, however, it was like the first time hearing Shostakovich's 5th - Something that speaks to the very core of the foodie within me! [This time as part of a group of five] I had the opportunity to a half-sheet of the Citizen Pie and the Fire Bird. First, and perhaps most importantly, I loved the crust/bread. It was fresh, light, and airy - almost gives me croissant vibes! Great amount of cheesiness with both pies as well. On the flip-side, with both sheets the toppings don't cover enough of the pizza. As such, just about 40-50% of the pizza is only (albeit delicious) dough with a little cheese. Regarding the Citizen Pie - I loved the combination of spicy, sweet, and savory. The cup-and-char pepperoni, hot honey, and ricotta worked wonders together! My wish here is for a little more pepperoni - otherwise, a delightful pie! When it comes to the fire bird - this one was loaded with ingredients! It was closest to what I would call a buffalo chicken with some flair! Something which is not at all subtle and very much in-your-face in terms of flavors. The spicy, meaty, savory excess I love! For a cocktail, I ordered a Tequila y la Capilla. This one was more refreshing than boozy, and had some very notable heat! While I did overall enjoy the sweet heat that was this drink, I don't see myself ordering this again. This isn't a complaint of a diss - simply that I like my drinks ether more spirit forward, or with more layers than just sweet and spicy. I enjoyed the open, hip, and industrial-ish vibe. Hands down the single worst pizza my wife and I have had in our 60+ years. We ordered a veggie pizza with hamburger on half of it. The veggies were not cooked and they used taco meat as a substitute for hamburger. The crust was awful and something you could break a tooth on. They don't slice the pizza. Rather, they give you a giant pair of scissors to do it yourself which you have to do from a standing position as the put the pie on an elevated stand holding onto a hot pizza with the other hand. We paid $50 for a large. My wife pointed out that we usually spend much more eating out; however, we usually have something edible. We took 90% of it home only because we don't waste food, but we ended up throwing it out. I guess they cater to drunks going to the game who don't care about what they're eating. read more

I loved the pizza! I tried both the onu, with caramelized onions and pineapples, bacon and bbq sauce, and the citizens pie , with whipped ricotta, pepperoni, and a yummy honey drizzle. While not cheap, it was thick, filling, and worth the money. It gets 3 stars however due to service issues. I walked into the pizza by the slice side and there was a woman there making what appeared to be salads and pizzas. There were no customers in there, just me standing and waiting, and waiting, and waiting. I stood there for about 5 minutes and she didn't acknowledge me one time, no hello, no someone will be with you shortly, no let me get the cashier, nothing. I felt invisible. So I left that side and went to the bar side. I told them I wanted to make a to go order and the host told me that I should go to the pizza by the slice side. When I told him I tried that but didn't get any service, he said he would find someone to help me. When I got back over there, a very nice woman shortly arrived and was super helpful. I'm just going to start by saying the apps are to die for; Especially the Street Corn and Wings. The flavor is insane, perfectly cooked and simply perfect. Their pizza (not pictured) was amazing to say the least too, but a quick tip: their cheese pizza and margarita pizza are literally the same, just priced differently Their cocktails were pretty unique too and honestly pretty good. Specifically speaking, the Rocky Mountain was made with crème de banana which I thought would've given more of a banana flavor but it was quite subtle. The service is super quick and nice, and there has never been any waiting for me to be sat for the 3 times I've been which were in the afternoon/evening, and the music they play was pretty upbeat and enjoyable to dine to. What an eye opening experience here. It was a beautiful day so we sat at the bar that is outside, facing inside. Our waiter/bartender Eric made our experience even better. He recommended the pizza we got that comes with honey on top and he was right, it was a winner. A major winner!! Right outside of this restaurant in the walking area are several fun things such as a hugh fire pit and also the game you throw the bag into the board with the hole (for the life of me, I cannot remember the name). Anyways Eric said you can order drinks from us and sit out front and partake in the activities there. He also said thru have live music starting at 5:00 which is my jam.
