I own a small tabletop gaming company and have been to gaming stores all over the country. The Citadel Game Cellar is one of the best gaming stores I've ever been to. It has an enormous collection of games, books, and paints, great prices, and a super cool group of staff as well. I only wish I lived closer!

I love this place! It was my first introduction in the early 2000's to Euro/German-style/Designer board games. The original location had tons of these games while it also managed to include other (hobby) board games & card games, RPGs, CCGs, gaming magazines, minis, and even an entire aisle of true wargames. A few years ago, I made my usual vacation detour and found the storefront vacant. I was crushed, assuming for these last couple of years that it had gone out of business, but I am excited to say not only is the store still in business (it's about three lots down the street from the old location, but hard to see from the road), but it's even bigger than before! This is a great place to find not only new games, but a ton of out-of-print items as well. The only negative I can think of is that the prices tend to be retail, which is often the case in this industry, but it'd be nice to see discounts on the really old CCGs and small-print RPGs that may not really be able to demand full price anymore. Overall, I am very happy to say I can resume my yearly pilgrimage to what seems to be the biggest collection of games in New England!

Bought Root and Terra Mystica at Citadel, highly recommend both!

The best private selection of board games in Connecticut by a long shot in my opinion.
