Great little restaurant. It looks very locally loved. A very good sign. Wait staff was very friendly and despite being very busy was incredibly attentive. I had the Reuben. I am a Reuben snob and I was impressed. Easily the best I've had in western Montana. I also had the cream of tomato soup. Made in the restaurant. It was very good. I thought it was great. Good solid food. Had the smothered hamburger steak with mashed potatoes. I believe the potatoes were real (not boxed). The smothered beef was good, too. Salad was great - big and fresh. I suspect the previous poster was probably just a little out of her element here in Montana- probably why she gets poor service. My service was impeccable. Awesome! Brett (the owner) and his team made our visit extra special. They took the time to visit with my family. His 30 years of hard work shines out in his smile and attitude. Cislos has been one of my favorite places since I was a kid! This place is your quintessential American greasy-spoon. No more and no less. Big portions, sagging quality, old school service, and Hunt's Catsup, you know what I'm saying? If you're not too concerned with what you're putting in your body today, go enjoy a well-grilled burger and a mountain of cheesey-fries for cheap, with commercial ranch dressing that you don't ever want to know what's in it. I would say Cislos is just seedy enough, ALMOST too seedy, but not quite. Bring your kids, but keep an eye on 'em, you're in Evergreen after all. read more

After landing in Kalispell, we ate dinner here on July 29, 2019. We had the all you can eat spaghetti and meatballs. It was good and the service was friendly and great, but the reason I am writing this review is because of the amazing huckleberry pie! I really wanted to try some huckleberry pie while on vacation in the Glacier National Park area because I can't get it where I live in NC, so I asked the waitress if they had any huckleberry pie. She said our pie maker is on vacation this week, but let me go back to the kitchen and ask him. She came back out and said he (I don't know who "he" was, but I'm assuming the owner) made a homemade huckleberry pie today and is pretty proud of it and asked me if I would like to try a piece of it. I said yes, and boy I'm sure glad I did because it was the best pie I've ever tasted! It was a thick, amazingly delicious slice of heaven! It was one of the highlights of my vacation! read more

Awesome little home cooking diner, prices are great, and the foods even better!! I got an appetizer of onion rings, and it was huge for the price!! We were driving through the city on a long road trip, and after reading reviews decided this was the best place in town for us. Perhaps we were led to expect too much, but we were underwhelmed. Everything was "almost good" -- my Reuben sandwich was ok but needed more oomph, my wife's ravioli was too salty, the flavor of my daughter's French Dip sandwich was ok but the bread was too hard, and I forgot what wasn't quite right about my son's entree. The banana cream pie, that we had been drooling over during the meal, looked delicious but was too sweet and tasted like commercial pudding. I really think five star reviews are given out way to easy on Yelp and can't believe I would give one to a grease spoon but the service is above and beyond, the place was packed yet no one waited for anything. I had6oz steak and eggs special for 7.99 which included coffee. The steak was cooked a perfect med rare. This restaurant had very attentive servers. It was very homey and there were mostly locals there when we went. The food was tasty. I enjoyed my salad and steak. I was too full for pie, though it was tempting. We were entertained by the treasure hunt questions about the ads on the table and a little booklet of puns and jokes at the table. read more

Cislo's tomato soup and grilled cheese is excellent... But the soup is always luke warm. The service is great, but the last three times I have been there, the bathroom was not cleaned and the tables were very sticky when we were sat. I moved to the valley 9 years ago and very rarely leave to go back east but every once in awhile I miss my mom's home cooking. This place is where I go for a taste of home. The tomato soup is the best I have ever had (don't tell my mom). The chicken fried steak is smothered in creamy warm gravy that may not be good be good for your waistline but it is good for your soul. Don't get me started on the prime rib. We stopped here for lunch. It was very crowded and the workers were really working hard to make everyone happy. The food was top-notch. Three of us got the shrimp basket special. All three said it was perhaps the best fried shrimp they had ever had. It was lightly breaded and delicious. I had the clam chowder and a tuna salad sandwich. Both were very good. Definitely would recommend this place. Looks like they don't need the recommendation, though, as it was hopping. read more

My family and I found ourselves in Kalispell on Tuesday night unexpectedly after a trip that did not go as planned. While in our room, we just flipped through the phone book to find a family restaurant to eat. We found this one and glad we did. The food was great with large portions, and I got the smaller option! The service was friendly and efficient. And as a waitress myself I noticed how everyone working in the restaurant worked together to get drinks to customers, quickly bus tables to get other people in and just general teamwork. That was great to see! When we visit Kalispell again (and we will!) we will visit this restaurant again. read more

Excellent food of the americana variety abounds. We followed the recommendation, as two travelers, of a local we encountered at our hotel and found our way to Cislo's. The interior of the restaurant reminded me of many of the restaurants I had appreciated while living in Fairbanks, Alaska. Some might use the term "rustic" to describe the carpet, wall coverings, and laminated menu/joke/advertisement items. Each table came stationed with jellies, creamers, and hand sanitizer. The waitstaff was excellent to us and made spectacular recommendations. My wife particularly enjoyed the smothered chicken and I enjoyed my prime-rib special. Many of the other patrons appeared to be locals who enjoyed the modest prices, and we felt good to be in a place that felt local and authentic without having to sell/market itself as such. The pies are also quite good; this is a place I would go out of my way to return to if I found myself in Kalispell in the future. read more

My husband and I were loyal customers of Cislo's for a long while. We went for Easter brunch and had the most unpleasant experience. We waited over ten minutes before any employee acknowledged our presence. We got walked by numerous times by several different employees. When an employee finally asked if we were on the waiting list, we said no, and she simply walked away. We waited another five minutes with absolutely no service, and we had yet to be put on the waiting list. The food is decent, the portions are good, but the service absolutely SUCKS at times. Because of this incident, we will never visit this restaurant again. They do not deserve our money, and they don't deserve yours. A separate incident, long before Easter, started changing our opinion of the restaurant. The owner got into a yelling match with a customer that complained about either the service or the food. It was the most unprofessional confrontation in a restaurant I have ever seen. It was embarrassing to watch and made everybody around feel uncomfortable. 2/5 only because the food is decent. read more
